Chapter 266: Go, Take a Leak
Chapter 266: Go, Take a Leak
Ye Xiu saw that the woman, Xu Fengmei, had a mouth that was going like a machine gun, looking like she could rant for three days and three nights straight. He quickly grabbed Ming Yue and tried to make a run for it.
"Where do you think you’re going?" Xu Fengmei blocked Ye Xiu, continuing her tirade. "You can forget about running away. If you don’t give my daughter an explanation today, you’re not going anywhere."
"Explain what, my ass," Ye Xiu said, taking a deep breath. "Listen carefully. I am not the child’s father. I met your daughter once—yesterday, on the subway. That’s it. Please stop harassing me."
"You... you Chen Shimei!" Xu Fengmei was about to explode with rage. "You have the guts to do it but not to admit it? What kind of man are you?!"
She then turned furiously to her daughter, Bao Niannian. "Niannian, are you blind? How could you fall for a man like this? Look at him! He doesn’t have a single shred of a man’s responsibility. He’s just a scumbag, a beast!"
"Mom, you’ve really misunderstood him," Bao Niannian explained, on the verge of crying from frustration. "I honestly don’t know him, and he isn’t Xiao Bao’s dad. Please, stop accusing an innocent person."
"You... you... you! How did I give birth to such a weak-willed daughter? He’s the one who wronged you, not the other way around! Why are you still defending him?" Xu Fengmei beat her chest and stomped her feet, the picture of someone disappointed in her child’s potential. She suddenly paused. "Niannian, is it because he has a wife? Is that why you don’t dare to admit your relationship with him?"
"How would I know if he has a wife?" Bao Niannian cried out, completely exasperated.
"His wife is right here, the one who’s as dark as a briquette," Xu Fengmei pointed at Ming Yue and bellowed. "What’s wrong with you? Can’t you keep your own man in check? Look at what he’s done to my daughter!"
Ming Yue, caught in the crossfire, quickly explained, "Let me make one thing clear: I am not his wife. You can all argue as much as you want, but leave me out of it."
"You’re not his wife?" Xu Fengmei’s eyes narrowed. "Then tell me this! Why were the two of you coming out together so early in the morning? If you’re not his wife, why are you living in his house?" she demanded, spraying spittle on Ming Yue’s face as she spoke.
Ming Yue swore to the heavens that if Ye Xiu weren’t here, she would beat Xu Fengmei so hard that the shit she failed to pass ten years ago would come flying out.
But she didn’t continue to argue. She was quite happy watching Ye Xiu get falsely accused and berated.
"Nothing to say for yourself now, huh?" Seeing Ming Yue fall silent, Xu Fengmei looked as if she’d won the argument. "Niannian, snap out of it! Go back and pack your things. We’re moving. From now on, you stay far away from this scumbag."
"I’m not moving!" Bao Niannian said stubbornly. "Mom, he really isn’t Xiao Bao’s dad! I don’t even know him..."
"Are you moving or not?" Xu Fengmei cut her off. "If you don’t move, I’ll have my bodyguard come up here and break his legs."
As she spoke, she took out her phone, making a show of calling someone.
"Mom, how many times do I have to tell you before you’ll believe me? He really isn’t Xiao Bao’s dad," Bao Niannian said, mentally and physically exhausted.
"It seems you’re one of those who won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin. Fine, I’m calling him now." Xu Fengmei quickly dialed a number. "Get up here. Now."
Seeing this, Bao Niannian panicked. "Mom, are you crazy? He’s innocent! You’ve misunderstood everything! If you have the bodyguard beat him, he’ll be suffering a terrible injustice!"
Xu Fengmei said nothing, silently waiting for her bodyguard to come up and beat this Chen Shimei.
Seeing that her mother was dead set on having someone beaten, Bao Niannian quickly turned to Ye Xiu. "Sir, you need to leave, now! My mom’s bodyguard is ruthless. He really will break your legs."
"Leave? Where can he go? The monk can run, but the temple can’t. If he dares to leave, I’ll have my bodyguard demolish his house," Xu Fengmei said, acting as if she had Ye Xiu completely trapped.
Ming Yue was displeased to hear this. This is my house.
"Sir, please, hurry and go! Don’t worry, I’ll stop the bodyguard from demolishing your house," Bao Niannian urged.
Ye Xiu gave a bitter smile. "It’s too late. The bodyguard is already here."
Bao Niannian was startled. Where?
Just then, a bodyguard ran up from the stairwell. "Ma’am, what are your orders?"
"Break his legs," Xu Fengmei ordered, pointing at Ye Xiu.
"Understood!" The bodyguard immediately aimed a swift, clean kick at the knee of Ye Xiu’s left leg. His movements were fast and precise; he was clearly a trained professional, but not a Martial Artist.
Bao Niannian panicked. If Ye Xiu were really Xiao Bao’s father, then letting him get beaten would be one thing. But he isn’t! This is an innocent man being beaten for no reason! She wanted to stop it, but it was too late!
A malicious grin spread across Xu Fengmei’s face. This Chen Shimei deserves to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
However, in the next instant, both Bao Niannian and Xu Fengmei were left dumbfounded.
With a sharp SLAP, Ye Xiu sent the bodyguard falling to the ground, stiff as a board and completely unconscious.
"Do you only have this one bodyguard?" Ye Xiu asked Xu Fengmei, a smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes. "If you have more, call them all up. I’ve been falsely accused, and now I’m very angry. I feel like hitting someone."
Xu Fengmei stumbled back several steps, staring at Ye Xiu in terror. She had never imagined that this fair-skinned, delicate-looking Chen Shimei could be so formidable.
"Wow, Daddy is so amazing!" Xiao Bao cheered, jumping up and down and clapping.
"Go on," Ye Xiu egged him on. "Pee on your grandma."
"Okay!" Xiao Bao scampered over to Xu Fengmei and promptly peed on her leg.
Xu Fengmei: "..."
Bao Niannian: "..."
Ming Yue: "..."
Now that his anger had subsided, Ye Xiu said to Bao Niannian, "You should take your mother to the hospital for a check-up. There’s definitely something wrong with her brain."
With that, he turned and left with Ming Yue.
After leaving the residential complex, the two found a roadside stall to eat breakfast.
Ming Yue asked, "Xu Fengmei falsely accused you like that, and you just let her off so easily?"
"If you were in her shoes, you’d have lost your cool too," Ye Xiu said. "It’s a trivial matter, not worth blowing up. Besides, I don’t have a penchant for killing people."
"Oh."
Ming Yue was incredibly disappointed. She had been hoping the situation would escalate. That way, she could have spread the news far and wide that the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu, had an illegitimate child and had even assaulted the child’s grandmother. It would have been perfect for ruining his reputation.
But it seemed Ye Xiu couldn’t care less about such things. She changed the subject, pointing to the Dragon Sparrow Sword on the table. "This sword is exceptionally sharp. To say it cuts through iron like mud would be no exaggeration. Do you know its history?"
"It’s called Dragon Sparrow," Ye Xiu explained, stroking the blade. "Legend says it binds a Demon Spirit within it, granting it incredible Power and helping its wielder enhance their Martial Prowess. However, the longer one possesses it, the more the sword begins to control its master. It fills their mind with malevolent thoughts that are difficult to resist. Eventually, the sword becomes the master and the wielder becomes its servant, taking pleasure in slaughtering the innocent."
He was currently hesitating over whether to embed the Bloodstone into the Dragon Sparrow Sword. If he embedded the stone and the legends turned out to be true, it would be a huge problem.
"It’s that powerful?" Ming Yue exclaimed, her eyes burning with fervor. "Do you think my Nameless Evil Skill and the Dragon Sparrow Sword might be a matched set?"
Her real meaning was that Ye Xiu should give the Dragon Sparrow Sword back to her.
"You’re about to be sent back to Jin Ye City to become a beggar. What would you need the Dragon Sparrow Sword for?" Ye Xiu asked.
Ming Yue lowered her head, not daring to say another word. She silently cursed herself for being so tactless, for pushing Ye Xiu to state plainly how he planned to deal with her.
Just then, an excited voice cried out, "It’s you! Haha, I’ve finally found you!"
Ye Xiu and Ming Yue turned toward the sound. A young man, accompanied by an old man, was running joyfully toward them.
"Shen Sijun?" Ye Xiu’s lips curled into a playful smirk. It seems the Shen Family is working very hard to find me, to think they could track me down even while I’m eating breakfast.
