Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Aria pov

I couldn’t believe my eyes, Carol Zell was actually talking to me and this was not a mere imagination....yes Jaxon was known as the most handsome boy in school but I didn’t fancy him at first and instead just hated him so much... the only reason why we were able to click at first glance was that we lived today and out hormones took over us then.

But I had always admired Carol and that would never change at all. He smiled at me and brought out his hand for a handshake and even though I wanted to hesitate and let my ego take over I just couldn’t do it and instead I just brought out my hand and shook him as his smile got even wider and I could feel Jaxon anger as he stood up and separated both our hands and then sat back.

"You can’t be friends with my sister." Jaxon stated and I almost yelled in annoyance.

"Uhm, I don’t want to be her friend." he began but it didn’t really move me much. ... I just couldn’t help but wonder what exactly he wanted from me.

"Why would you say I can’t be friends with him? I can be friends with anyone and you can’t change that no matter what." I muttered to Jaxon and he looked at me angrily but he couldn’t say anything to me.

"You dont even have to get angry about that, because I don’t want to be just your friend...i want to get to know you and then become close And when I mean close..." he muttered.

UNKNOWN POV

As we boarded the plane back to the city, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. The events of the past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, and I was unsure of what awaited me in the city.

Alex was sitting beside me, his hand intertwined with mine as if to reassure me. I appreciated the gesture, but my mind was consumed with worries about meeting his family and navigating the unfamiliar territory of being in a relationship with a wealthy man.

As we landed in the city, my nerves were at an all-time high. I had never been to his family’s estate before, and the thought of meeting his mother filled me with dread.

We arrived at the estate, and I was struck by its grandeur. The sprawling mansion was surrounded by lush gardens and towering palm trees. I felt like an intruder in this foreign world of opulence and luxury.

Alex led me through the grand entrance hall, and I couldn’t help but feel like a fish out of water. His mother, a tall, regal woman with piercing blue eyes, greeted us with a polite smile. I immediately felt self-conscious, my plain clothes and simple appearance contrasting sharply with her designer clothing and impeccable grooming.

"Welcome, Samantha," she said in a soft voice. "I’ve heard so much about you from Alexander."

I smiled weakly, unsure of how to respond.

"Mother, we need to talk," Alex said decisively. "About the contract."

His mother’s eyes narrowed, and I could sense the atmosphere in the room shifting.

"What about it?" she asked, her tone sharp.

"I’ve decided to nullify the contract," Alex declared, his voice firm.

His mother’s expression soured.

His mother looked puzzled, clearly not knowing what contract Alex was referring to.

"What contract are you talking about, Alexander?" she asked, her brow furrowed.

Alex looked momentarily surprised before realizing his mistake.

"Oh, I’m sorry, I meant to say...we need to talk about our relationship," he said smoothly, recovering quickly.

His mother’s expression softened, and she gave him a small smile.

"Of course, my dear," she said. "I’m just happy to see you again. And it’s a pleasure to meet you, Samantha."

I breathed a small sigh of relief, grateful that the awkwardness had been diffused.

Over the next few days, I slowly became more accustomed to the opulent lifestyle of the estate. Alex’s mother, while initially intimidating, turned out to be a warm and gracious hostess, and I found myself relaxing in her company.

Alex and I spent long afternoons lounging by the pool, sipping on cocktails and talking about our hopes and dreams for the future. As the days passed, my worries and fears gradually began to fade away.

It wasn’t long before our trip came to an end, and as we boarded the private jet that would take us back to the city, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness. Despite my initial misgivings, I had realized that my feelings for Alex had deepened, and I was eager to explore our relationship further.

As we soared over the shimmering city skyline, Alex turned to me with a small smile.

"I’m glad you came with me, Samantha," he said. "I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us."

Over the next few days, as we were settling back into our regular routines, I couldn’t help but think about my life before meeting Alex. I had been a prostitute for years, and while I had grown used to the lifestyle, it was fading away into the back of my mind. Thoughts of Alex and his family, his kind-hearted mother, and his grandpa filled my mind, pushing away the memories of my old life.

It was on a bright Monday morning when I felt a wave of courage wash over me. I knew that I had to leave that life behind me and move on for the sake of my own future. I had to gather the courage to quit my employment as a prostitute and took the first step to building a better life for myself.

Without much deliberation, I contacted my boss and told him that I was quitting. Although he tried to convince me to stay, I didn’t look back. It felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders. For the first time in many years, I could finally embrace the possibility of a new, brighter future, and a new beginning.

Alex was everything to me now. I had finally realized that he was the love of my life, and I was ready to take the step to meet his grandpa, the statesman. Alex had spoken so much about his grandfather, and I was eager to meet him in person. Alex had said his grandfather was a wise old man, and I wanted to meet him and ask for his blessings to start over again.

Over the next few days, as we prepared for our trip, I spent time learning about Alex’s family’s business, and I was fascinated by the family’s legacy and history. I was excited about the possibilities that might unfold once we met his grandfather; the implications that it might have for our future.
