Chapter 117

Aria pov

She pulled me even closer to her, "Rachel Mom ran away and she took a lot of money with her." I felt so scared and almost screamed but I held it in.

"What are we going to do now? I asked in confusion as my mom just started laughing.

"Mom, it’s not funny are we going bankrupt or not?"I asked her and she shrugged making me even more relieved as I smiled in satisfaction.

"But why is Rachel here if her mom ran away?" I asked because it was all not making any see to me but I knew asking won’t change anything.

"Don’t you understand? Her mom ran away and left her with us...she cried her eyes out when she saw the letter she couldn’t believe her mother would do something like that to her but she had to hold it in." My mom said and for a split second I had a little pity for her but had to hold it in as I looked back and forth.

"Do you think her mom would ever come back? This just so bizarre, Naomi knows that money is going to finish one day anyways so why keep them to herself so greedily?" I questioned but mom shrugged and was about to answer me when the school principal rushed out and came to greet my mom as everyone juts stared at me, Jaxon and my mom as they were still trying to fully understand what was going on.

"We never knew Mrs Naomi was a scam and was juts enjoying the wealth of another person." The principal said out loud as the principal turned to us and for the first time in a long time he smiled at me making me almost jerk in shock.

"You both should return to class...it’s already general assembly time."He muttered to me and Jaxon and we rushed off, I made sure to avoid everyone and just go directly to the main hall and listen whatever have to be said in the assembly when I heard someone calling my name but I didn’t bother answering as I felt like they would all call my names abd even though I avoid it still won’t stop....I was suddenly popular and that wasn’t good for me.

I soon got the main hall and saw Mary waving at me as she had a novel on her lap and that could clearly explain why she was not outside in the assembly, to me it was a good thing because I had no where of explaining.

I sat beside her as everyone joined in and Jaxon was not an exception as for the first time he was seating beside her.

"What is going on and why is everyone threatening you with their eyes this way?" Mary asked Abd I couldn’t help but look around and it was true, I covered my head a little before whispering.

"Why can’t they just let me go?"I muttered and I know it just got her more confused.

"You smell And look different." Mary said and as an act of sarcasm, I snuffed around me and laughed playfully.

"I don’t smell differently, I am still exactly myself and look just like I did when you last saw me." I lied as Jaxon who was looking elsewherebut was clearly listening, laughed silently.
