Chapter 952: Devastating Movement

Chapter 952

Thud—! Thud—! Thud—!

Kael’s body ricocheted across the terrain with terrifying velocity, bouncing roughly against the jagged earth.

Yet, he refused to succumb to unconsciousness.

He forced his head up just in time to witness the bald-headed General looming over him, a massive crystal club descending from the heavens with lethal speed.

His eyes ignited with a sudden spark of defiance.

Lightning crackled around his frame with renewed intensity, and he blurred to the flank an instant before the club pulverized the spot where he had been lying, utterly shattering the plain.

Crash—!

The ground ruptured under the staggering weight of the crystalline bludgeon.

Launching forward with blazing momentum, Kael erased the distance between himself and the commander in less than a heartbeat.

Lightning arced around his palms like a miniature storm of chains, and from his fingertips, two concentrated bolts of electricity burst toward his foe with destructive force.

The bald General watched the approaching bolts without appearing fazed in the slightest.

The earth twisted in response to his will, and a massive wall of crystal surged upward to absorb the impact of the lightning.

Booom—!

The translucent barrier shuddered violently from the force of the collision.

Kael wasn’t about to grant his opponent a moment of respite; he could already see the wall fracturing.

Within mere moments, the structure crumbled into a thousand pieces.

However, it wasn’t the mage’s attack that finished it.

The General intentionally collapsed the wall, and before the fragments could even touch the dirt, they rose back into the air.

With a sharp snap of his fingers, the General fired the shards forward with blazing velocity—each one moving like a high-caliber bullet.

Crackle—! Bang—!

An enormous pillar of lightning screamed downward from the heavy clouds above.

BANG—!

The heavenly strike crashed directly between Kael and the incoming crystal shards, blowing the projectiles to smithereens almost instantly.

Suddenly, the air to his side turned heavy and began to whistle with a dangerous resonance.

Twirling around, Kael’s eyes were met with a crushing pillar of crystal speeding toward his chest with devastating force.

With uncanny agility, he managed to blur backward, desperately putting distance between himself and the massive construct.

Alas, he wasn’t granted any breathing room.

The pillar curved upward with sentient precision and rushed downward—closing in on Kael’s position from the sky.

Vaulting to the side just in time, he watched as the pillar turned the earth into a hollowed-out crater.

Chunks of soil and debris were blasted in every direction.

Bang—!

Kael darted forward at maximum speed.

Within a single second, he had crossed the gap and stood before the General.

From his palms, a pair of lightning swords materialized instantly into his grip.

With a blur of motion, he began swinging and slashing at his opponent.

The General was unrelenting as well.

A pair of crystal swords appeared in his own hands to meet the assault.

Though many mages lacked mastery in traditional weaponry, these veterans possessed a fundamental understanding of combat since they frequently used "Creation Magic" to manifest their constructs.

This encounter was no different; after practicing for years, they could effectively slash and parry with whatever tools they conjured.

The result was a destructive dance between Kael and the General.

They moved with fluid grace, but Kael was undeniably the swifter of the two.

Yet, despite his superior tempo, he couldn’t find a single opening to capitalize on.

Their magical weapons struck one another with resounding clangs and metallic bangs that echoed across the battlefield.

Slashing upward from below, Kael sought a gap in the defense, but the General pivoted almost instantly, already preparing a vicious counter-attack.

Before he had the chance to react, Kael twirled with the precision of a sharp, broken arrow and hurled the second lightning sword in his hand forward with all his might.

Bang—!

The air cracked under the sheer velocity of the throw.

This forced the General onto the defensive, and a massive wall of crystal surged upward directly in the path of the electrical blade.

The barrier quivered violently under the impact, but it held firm.

However, before the General could reposition, he felt the atmosphere behind him crackle fiercely.

His eyes stretched wide as he whirled around to see a jagged bolt streaking towards his neck with blistering speed.

Left with no other choice, the General desperately blocked with the crystal sword still in his grip.

As he managed to deflect the blow to the flank, Kael smirked beneath his mask.

A shadow portal yawned open directly beneath the commander’s feet.

From its depths, a crackling sphere of lightning began to peek through.

Feeling the sudden heat beneath him, the General kicked off into the air just in time; the sphere erupted with incredible force, screaming through the sky like a guided missile.

Unhesitatingly, a gargantuan crystal hammer materialized in his grasp, and he swung it downward with everything he had.

BOOOOM—!

The hammer collided with the lightning sphere in a thunderous rain of sparks and explosions.

While the weapon managed to dispel the sphere in time, its trajectory remained unhindered.

It continued its descent, hurtling toward Kael with devastating velocity.

The Lunaria demon didn’t fret as he watched the hammer approach him like a freight train from above.

When the weapon was inches away, he didn’t even attempt to dodge.

He simply moved—shifting subtly like a blur—and in the next heartbeat, he was standing atop the hammer’s head.

BOOOM—!

The weapon crashed into the ground where he had just been standing, instantly creating a ten-meter-wide cavity that sent a storm of dust and debris into the air.

The earth shuddered from the impact, but it didn’t stop Kael.

He exploded forward, sprinting across the length of the hammer’s handle with deft, predatory speed.

Within a heartbeat, he was back in the General’s face.

He wasted no time, launching into a double kick aimed at flinging the man out of the sky.

Before the strike could connect, the General twisted his body, watching as the leg whistled past his face by a hair’s breadth.

But Kael wasn’t finished.

He spun like a wheel almost instantly, and around his palms, a crackling ball of lightning manifested.

He wasted no time flinging the orb toward the General with blazing speed.

The velocity was far too great for the commander to simply dodge, forcing him to rely on his only remaining option.

Block!

Crystals formed around his hands in a dense, reinforced layer as he crossed his arms in front of his face.

BAM—!

The ball of lightning struck with the strength of a charging bull.

The General’s eyes widened in shock as the raw force of the strike sent him hurtling out of the air like a broken doll.
