Magus Supremacy

Chapter 951: Boring

Chapter 951: Boring

Chapter 951

Viktor stood motionless before the diminutive General, who clutched a sleek spear and wore a comprehensive suit of armor that encased his entire form.

A metallic helmet completely obscured the commander’s features, leaving only the cold glint of the visor visible.

Unlike the other two Generals, this short warrior didn’t make the slightest attempt to budge from his position.

He simply observed with a predatory stillness, his gaze locked onto Viktor, who similarly refrained from initiating the first strike.

"Uh... the others are already fighting. Are we going to do this or not?" Viktor asked, a deep frown etching into his face.

Yet, the General offered no reply.

He merely tightened his grip on the shaft of his spear while maintaining his silent vigil.

Now that Viktor had a moment to actually scrutinize his opponent, the man appeared no taller than a ten-year-old child.

However, despite his small stature, he looked incredibly bulky and solid beneath the heavy load of steel plate covering his frame.

Glancing around briefly, Viktor could see his comrades engaged in a chaotic, high-velocity struggle.

Secretly, he was beginning to feel a pang of jealousy.

The others were relishing the thrill of their duels, while he was stuck in what felt like a tedious, silent standoff.

"You know what? If you won’t attack me, I will just have to force your hand!" he bellowed, launching forward with a sudden burst of speed.

The soil buckled beneath his boots as he closed the gap between himself and the armored figure in a matter of seconds.

"Gravity magic; Graviole!"

The atmospheric pressure surrounding the General intensified instantly, the air itself turning heavy enough to crush bone.

But in a sudden blur of motion, the short man darted to the flank, skillfully evading the zone of destruction.

Deep cracks splintered across the earth’s surface from the sheer weight of Viktor’s gravity magic.

The moment the General rolled back to his feet, his spear began to glow with a dangerous, malevolent light.

Without a second of hesitation, he hurled the weapon forward with all the strength he could muster.

The spear whistled through the air, cutting the distance with lightning velocity.

Viktor didn’t fret.

Spinning on his heel, he attempted to intensify the gravity around the projectile, hoping to snatch it out of the air and pin it to the ground.

However, before his counter-attack could fully manifest, the spear erupted with an obsidian sheen and immediately split into five identical copies.

Five lethal points were now bearing down on Viktor, who had focused his magic on only a single target.

"Crap."

Reacting instinctively, he manipulated the gravity around his own body, drastically reducing his mass until he was as light as a piece of paper.

This sudden weightlessness allowed him to float and weave through the trajectory of the five spears just in time.

Bang—! Bang—! Bang—!

The weapons crashed into the earth with terrifying force, gouging deep, jagged holes into the terrain.

Landing back on the firm ground, Viktor seized the opening and shot forward again, keeping his personal gravity low to maximize his speed.

He was right upon the General, ready to unleash a crushing gravity strike at point-blank range.

Before he could execute the move, the General’s armor pulsed with that same obsidian glow.

Out of nowhere, a massive hammer materialized in his gauntlets, which he swung forward in a violent arc.

The air shuddered from the displacement of the heavy weapon as it swung toward Viktor, whose eyes widened in genuine horror.

"Graviole!"

Hoping to sabotage the swing, Viktor flooded the hammer with localized gravity.

It suddenly became exponentially heavier in the General’s hands.

Due to the staggering increase in mass, the hammer’s trajectory was dragged downward, causing it to crash into the ground with enough force to splinter the surrounding terrain instantly.

A brilliant white glow coalesced around Viktor’s palms.

He hauled his hands forward, launching concentrated bolts of pure mana toward his foe.

Despite the heavy armor and the lingering pressure pressing down on him, the General moved with fluid agility, dodging the mana attacks as they whistled past him, creating deep fissures wherever they connected with the earth.

"Oh. I can also do this!" Viktor snarked, a confident grin playing on his lips as he pointed his hand forward.

The heavy hammer from earlier, which had slipped from the General’s grip, suddenly began to levitate.

After Viktor significantly reduced its weight, the massive tool bobbed in the air as if it were made of feathers.

With a sharp flick of his wrist, he sent the weapon whistling towards the General at a deadly velocity.

Before the armored man could even contemplate a dodge, Viktor snapped his fingers.

The hammer instantly regained its entire mass—and then amplified it significantly.

BOOOOM—!

Crashing directly in front of the General, the hammer plowed into the earth with a thunderous impact.

The force was so immense that the surrounding terrain collapsed into an enormous crater, trapping the short man in the center.

Suddenly, the very floor of the crater caved in, and the General plummeted downward into the dark depths of the fractured soil.

Sol, on the other hand, was definitely not having a field day with her opponent.

Dashing to the side with frantic energy, she managed to narrowly avoid an enormous chain that pulverized the ground, leaving a wide, jagged crevice in its wake.

Instead of engaging in a suicidal head-on struggle, she remained in constant motion, darting around the area with fluid agility.

Vaulting into the air, she performed a tight mid-air twirl.

A glowing rune manifested in front of her, followed by a concentrated blast of wind that struck the General, sending him sliding backward across the dirt.

She landed in a crouch, slamming her palms onto the ground and maintaining that position for several tense seconds.

More chains erupted around the cracked-toothed General like metallic serpents.

Without warning, they launched at her with lightning speed.

Unhesitatingly, the girl burst forward, her movements a blur of desperate grace.

She weaved through the lattice of enormous chains, dodging each strike by the narrowest of margins.

Tilting her head sharply to the flank, she felt the cold wind of a chain whistling past her ear.

Quickly dropping into a low slide, she evaded another link that screamed over her head.

Her heart pounded violently against her ribs as she caught sight of the General smirking at her, clearly enjoying the hunt.

Sweat clung to her frame, stinging her eyes, but she kicked off the ground again, determined to close the distance.

Mid-run, she reached down and snatched a jagged earth spike that had been sheared off during the clash between the thousands of mages nearby.

Grabbing a second spike with her other hand, she finally vaulted forward with every ounce of strength she possessed.

The chains behaved like sentient tentacles, darting at her with blazing speed to intercept her path.

Leaning her torso aside, she swung one of the earth spikes, successfully batting a chain away from her path before shifting her footing.

With a powerful twist of her hips, she hurled the second spike in her hand like a javelin.

Whistle—!

The General was forced to leap to the side just in time.

The spike hissed past his face with devastating velocity before burying itself deep in the earth where he had been standing.

He landed on the ground with a sharp pant and a breath of relief—until he saw the triumphant beam on Sol’s face.

Quickly glancing down at his boots, his eyes widened in horror as glowing runes materialized in the dirt directly beneath his feet.
