Magus Supremacy

Chapter 950: Any Different?

Chapter 950: Any Different?

Chapter 950

While the high-stakes three-versus-three clash unfolded, the larger battlefield had descended into total chaos.

With the arrival of the powerful reinforcements, the tide was beginning to turn; though the shift was gradual, the Velzoria Kingdom was pushing back with an intensity that the Drakesville forces hadn’t anticipated.

The raw force they were exerting on their opponents was unprecedented.

The battle raged on with tremendous ferocity.

High above, Raze provided constant aerial support, raining down wind swords and lightning bolts upon the enemy ranks below.

Arthur worked tirelessly to manifest barriers, shielding those in urgent need of protection, while Vanica’s healing birds soared across the field to mend the wounded.

In the heart of the fray, Scarlet, Greg, Jay, Charlotte, Dante, and Lyra were wreaking havoc continuously, their spells carving through the opposition.

However, the enemy numbers weren’t diminishing as quickly as they hoped.

From the initial ten thousand, approximately five thousand soldiers remained—only half the original force, yet still a staggering number to contend with.

Despite the carnage in the background, Kael didn’t cast so much as a sideways glance toward the main army.

His absolute focus remained locked on the bald-headed General standing before him, a man who looked ready to explode into a violent offensive at any moment.

Kael didn’t have to wait long.

A hundred crystalline spikes launched toward him with such deadly velocity they resembled long, jagged bullets.

With blue arcs of electricity dancing across his skin, Kael wasted no time blurring into motion.

He weaved through the barrage as if the projectiles were standing still.

Every subtle tilt of his head or lean of his torso allowed him to evade the spikes by a comfortable margin.

Vaulting off the scorched earth, lightning fizzled around his palms.

With a thunderous clap, jagged bolts of pure energy rushed toward the commander below.

"Crystal creation magic; Crystal Hammer."

A gargantuan hammer forged entirely of shimmering crystals materialized in the General’s grip.

It was a weapon fit to be wielded by giants, yet the man held it effortlessly.

As he swung the massive tool, the ground beneath him fractured, sending blankets of dust billowing into the air.

BOOOOM—!

The hammer collided with the lightning bolts, causing a deafening thunderclap to erupt outwardly.

The weapon suddenly elongated beyond its natural limits, nearly swatting Kael out of the sky.

With uncanny agility, Kael kicked off the air and landed on the ground smoothly before launching forward again with explosive grace.

He closed the gap between them in a heartbeat, a lightning sword now crackling around his hand.

As he slashed at the man’s chest, the blade was met with a heavy, metallic clang that reverberated through Kael’s very bones.

Though the sword was lethally sharp, it only tore through the General’s outer garments to reveal a dense coating of crystal armor protecting his torso and vital organs.

Beaming at a momentarily stunned Kael, the General brought the hammer down from above with crushing speed.

Snapping his gaze upward, the mage frowned for a fraction of a second.

BAM—! BOOOOM—!

The impact sent a fresh wave of dust into the atmosphere, shielding the General’s view.

Then, sharp Zap—! Zap—! Zap—! sounds echoed as streaks of blue lightning began darting through the dust cloud.

The General’s eyes moved rapidly, tracking the erratic movements of the element with a firm, calm gaze.

He swung the gargantuan hammer in a wide arc, dispelling the dust in one smooth motion, only to find Kael already positioned in front of him.

The lightning sword was poised, speeding directly toward the man’s eyes.

Letting go of his heavy weapon, the General instinctively bounded backward.

The lightning blade cleaved through the empty air where the commander had stood a second before.

Before the man could even blink, Kael vanished again, reappearing in front of him in a heartbeat, relentless in his pursuit.

Swoosh—! Swoosh—! Swoosh—!

The battlefield descended into a state of fluid chaos as Kael unleashed a flurry of strikes, his lightning swords slashing and hacking from every conceivable angle.

His eyes remained fixed and unnervingly calm—calculating every micro-movement of his opponent.

’How is he matching my speed?’ the General wondered, his mind racing to keep up with the electrical blur.

Diving to the side just in time, Kael avoided a barrage of jagged crystal shards that had been inches away from perforating his torso.

The moment he regained his footing, a high-pitched, ozone-heavy screech echoed from the heavens.

The General quickly cast his gaze upward, catching sight of a massive, descending pillar of pure lightning.

Before he could even blink, the column screamed downward with devastating, lethal velocity.

"Shoot."

The commander knew he wasn’t that fast. No matter his rank, he couldn’t outrun literal lightning.

Faced with no other choice, he did the only thing that came to mind.

Lifting his hands high above his head, translucent crystals crawled over his skin, rapidly encasing his forearms in a dense, reinforced layer of crystalline armor.

WAM—! BOOOOM—!

The soil beneath his boots ruptured instantly, fissures spider-webbing through the earth for five meters in every direction.

His feet sank deep into the dirt as electrifying pain tore through his veins, the sheer voltage bypassing his defenses.

The armor on his forearms cracked continuously under the pressure of the pillar, the weight of the sky pushing him toward the earth.

ZAP—!

The General’s eyes rolled to the side only to see Kael standing right there, a sinister, predatory grin stretching across his face.

"If I could defeat a General just like you years ago, what makes you think you are any different?"

Kael kicked off the ground with blazing momentum, landing a swift, heavy double-kick directly into the man’s face.

The force of the impact lifted the commander off his feet, sending him hurtling away.

Bouncing across the terrain, the General desperately dug his fingers into the soil, clawing at the earth to force himself to a full stop.

He regained his balance just in time, as Kael was already upon him again.

A lightning-powered axe kick was hurtling toward his skull.

With an explosive burst of effort, the General sprang to the side as the kick connected with the ground, ripping a massively deep trench into the surface of the plain.

Dust billowed around Kael for a brief moment.

He expeditiously twirled around to press his advantage, only for his eyes to widen in sudden horror.

The gargantuan hammer from before was already inches from his chest.

BAM—!

The weapon crashed into his frame with the concentrated force of four bullet trains.

BANG—!

Kael’s body was launched into the distance with the velocity of a sniper’s round, blood spraying from his lips in a crimson mist.

A sonic boom echoed across the field as the force of his hurtling body broke the sound barrier.

The entire battlefield paused for a split second, the ringing silence of the bang piercing through the din of war.

Allies and enemies alike stopped to witness his body flying through the air like a discarded ragdoll.

Shock was written across the faces of every Lunaria mage.
