Chapter 61: NOBILITY
Chapter 61: NOBILITY
Silas walked through the wide expanse, his gaze enthralled by the spectacle.
"For the models, you need to go to the Administrative office," Axiom reminded Silas.
"Yeah, yeah," Silas said, remembering what had made him come here in the first place.
"The techniques are also there, right?" Silas asked.
"Yes."
He nodded as he looked around, checking for any path that might lead to the administrative office.
"It is to the left," Axiom said, noticing his confusion.
"Thank you," Silas said, steering towards the left side of the plaza.
He walked through the place, still marvelling at the grand architecture.
"Can I get a crew like those for myself?" Silas could not help but ask, seeing as each of those scientists had a crew to assist them.
"Yes, once you advance to tier 4 Specialist, you would be assigned a group of students to mentor every hundred years. Depending on your success, you would be paid a certain amount, including but not limited to credits and resources."
Silas nodded, but he could not help but frown, thinking of the problem that might arise if he ever reached a point where he could no longer teach them.
"You can also choose not to teach any student until you are ready," Axiom added.
Silas nodded calmly. ’They put a lot of thought into the system,’ he thought.
As he continued in his train of thoughts, he reached the administrative office, a small bungalow painted in pure gold.
Silas stepped through the door calmly.
The room was quite lively, with several customers in line for what they wanted to buy.
At the end of the room were rows of receptionists, about 10 of them, each one attending to a customer.
Silas looked around and chose the line with the fewest customers.
Although it was the shortest, with a glance he could tell that there were over 50 customers before him.
"This is going to be a long wait," Silas muttered as he breathed out.
Just then, a person approached him, carrying herself with a regal aura that effortlessly screamed nobility.
"Good day, sir," she said with a smile as she stopped just a few feet away from him.
Silas looked at her, then at his back, then at his sides.
"Me?" He asked, flustered by the sudden approach.
"Yes, sir," the lady replied with a slight smile as she looked at Silas’s flushed face.
Silas sighed.
First it was Celeste, now this woman. What was wrong with today?
"How may I help you?" He asked, taking a step forward as another customer was attended to.
"You don’t need to join the queue. Lady Celeste asked me to help you get what you want quickly," she explained.
His eyes widened in surprise.
Celeste, able to command an officer in a spire, the Solarion Spire no less. This was just too unbelievable.
But it began to click. She was followed by someone that powerful, she herself was at least Ascendant Realm. She was without a doubt someone with a high standing.
"Why is she helping me?" Silas asked calmly.
The lady did not reply for a while. Then, just before Silas could refuse, she spoke.
"She said it is a peace offering and an apology for her bodyguard’s rudeness," the lady replied.
As their discussion continued, the people nearby began to turn towards them, each one with varying expressions that only revealed their shock.
Let alone talking, the officials of the Solarion Spire never so much as batted an eye at customers.
They looked at the ten stars on his platinum collar.
The confusion died down instantly.
A tier 10 privileged scientist was enough to make the spires go into a contest to win him over.
Silas nodded slowly, his gaze fixed on the lady.
"I would be in your care then," he said with a smile as he stepped out of line.
The lady smiled instantly and began to lead Silas to the back of the reception.
Silas followed her with slow, steady steps.
’Who is that girl? She was able to make the Solarion Spire move.’
Silas could not shake off the feeling he was experiencing.
The curiosity began to gnaw at him, making him look at the lady in front.
"Excuse me, who is Celeste?" He asked.
The lady did not reply, but he was sure she had heard him.
Silas did not push further. He said no more.
"Lady Celeste is the young mistress of the Solarion Clan. She is the third ray of the patriarch."
"Ah, fuck."
Silas smiled as he tapped his forehead in disappointment.
"Why do I keep getting myself entangled with these people?" He asked himself, as if questioning the universe itself.
"The third ray of the Solarion Clan," he repeated slowly.
In the Solarion Clan, each child of the current patriarch was called a ray, a tradition that made Silas scoff.
"So, she is the third child of the Solarion Clan’s patriarch," Silas said in confirmation.
"Yes, third and last child."
Silas shook his head at the additional information.
’Last child. Doesn’t that mean she would be overly pampered?’ He wondered.
They soon reached a door, wooden, placed in an inconspicuous area of the store.
"This is our hidden archive. I brought you here since I figured you needed better things," the lady said calmly as her iris was scanned by the camera embedded into the knob.
The door clicked open slowly and the inner part was revealed.
Just a normal place. A counter, like the one outside, a receptionist, and nothing else.
The only difference between here and the outside was the number of people.
"You may make your purchase from her," the lady said, pointing at the receptionist, who sat languidly in her chair.
Silas nodded and walked towards the desk.
"So, what was your name again?" Silas asked, turning back to look at the lady who had helped him.
She smiled. "You finally thought of asking," she said slowly.
"Well, I am Elizabeth Thornwood."
Silas’s pupils constricted. Elizabeth Thornwood, the same cold leader of Thornwood Pharmaceutical, a tier 8 Luminary.
