Carter returned to his old self. He could feel the power in his veins. Even at base level, en Elite Human was very strong.

Carter punched forward, sending a cyclone to the wall and shook the entire wall.

’I’ve never thought Human would be this... savage.’

Carter’s skin became red. A faint red aura enveloped around him. He had just activated his Adrenaline.

The man dashed around in the room. He was even faster than the Soul Cyborg that he had killed. He could even become faster. But that would require burning more fuel and shorten his fight.

Carter stopped. The red aura disappeared and at the same time, white evaporation released from him. His Adrenaline and excess energy were pushed out via his poles.

’These are just the basic abilities of human that got enhanced to a supernatural level.’

Evaporative Decompression allowed his body to heal naturally and mitigated any side effects from Adrenaline. It completed the power of a human and removed their weakness.

’I wonder what would happen if I use Adrenaline, Terror Corruption, and the Monster Beneath again. Previously, Eldritch Knight was already capable of destroying a large area. With this Elite Adrenaline...’

The destruction would be unimaginable. But Carter was afraid that his body wouldn’t be able to handle that much power.

’I need to raise my Host Level and the Level of Eldritch Knight.’

Carter looked over to the Eldritch Knight token. He had three of them now. If he sacrificed enough skins toward them, they would become identical Eldritch Knight Skins, allowing for Skin Fusion.

’Before doing that, let’s sacrifice a few skin toward Elite Carter Hayes to make it more powerful.’

Human Skinline had Athleticism, Charisma, Perception, Intelligence, Physical Fortitude, and Mental Fortitude. Carter Hayes skin only had Charisma, Intelligence, and Mental Fortitude.

I would need 810 Major Shards, 2430 Medium Shards, or 7290 Minor Shards. Sheesh! This thing really drinks a lot of Shards.’

Carter silently calculated everything in his mind. If he really wanted to raise Eldritch Knight’s level. He would need a lot of corpse. Or commit mass murder.

Obviously, he wouldn’t do the second option. That would just ruin this world beyond recognition.

’The leaders also put a tighter leash on corpses as well after what happened with Atsuo. Corpse robbing isn’t really a choice at the moment. Let’s continue to play Zeneros and find out what this Gold Stream actually is.’

The leaders didn’t tell the world about Atsuo Nakamura’s betray. They only announced that he would be retiring because of ’health reasons’. The world was already in the bad state. More bad news would accomplish nothing.

Carter led the Invokers toward Manaca to investigate the Gold Stream. The Priests also joined them.

After learning the truth, most Priests betrayed their religion and jumped toward the Eldritch Knight’s bandwagon. Only a few loyalists stayed behind and joined the Terrors.

They arrived in an aircraft and were preparing to leave for Manaca.

A Priest approached Carter.

"Master Blackburn!"

"You are?" Carter said.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Oliphim. The current leader of the Priests. What is remaining of them anyway."

’That’s a weird name. The last Priest I saw also have a weird name.’

"Sir Zeneros Blackburn. It’s a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine, Master Blackburn!"

"You’re here to lead the Priests with us, right?" Carter asked.

"That’s right, sir. There are around thirty Priests going with us."

Priest Oliphim took out a small leathery paper and gave it to Carter.

"A Holy Seal I made myself. I know we have a few conflicts in the past but I hope you won’t mind it."

Carter smiled gently. "Priest Oliphim. Please don’t be like that. I hold no ill-will toward you or any Priests. You were just misguided. At least you know the truth now."

"Still... Please accept the Seal, Master Blackburn. If you don’t, I won’t be able to explain to the other Priests."

"A token of relationship, huh? Don’t worry, Priest Oliphim. I’ll take it." Carter pocketed the Seal. "Where we’re going, there would be a lot of Skinwalkers. What can you tell me about them, Priest Oliphim?"

"The Skinwalkers..." Oliphim trembled just by thinking back to what happened. "They’re not mindless monsters like the usual Terrors we deal with. They’re smart and have a high sense of territory. They usually won’t leave their territory unless something made them too."
