Carter had killed so much Terrors now that he didn’t even remember how much he had killed.
Carter didn’t go too hard like last time and destroyed every last piece of Terror. He made sure that their body stayed whole or at least there were still a big chunk of their body left to convert into Skin Shards.
The Raven Armor disassembled and returned the Raven Knight to his previous white robe. Usually after a transformation, Carter wouldn’t be able to use the Raven Armor again for quite a while.
But now he had Evaporative Decompression. Sweat poured out from him and evaporated immediately, it regulated his body and quickly ’decompressed’ all the side effects of the Eldritch Armor, especially the Terror Force that was contaminating his blood.
Carter felt he could transform once more after 30 seconds of "cool-down" with Evaporative Decompression.
’Evaporative Decompression is much stronger than I give it credit for.’
Killing Terrors wasn’t that long. All it had taken him was only 99 seconds. But collecting Skin Shards cost quite a lot of time.

A few hours later.
Carter tapped on his sleek black sword again. He once again transformed into the Raven Knight. Another 99 seconds started. The red aura appeared around him.
The white swordsman dashed into the heart of Asena and continued his cleansing. The number of Terrors went down significantly. They disappeared without much resistance.
Then Carter saw it. A woman with white hair stood on top slope overlooking the entire city. He stopped in front of her and removed his Raven Armor. Smoke exuded from him immediately.
"So this is what a Skinwalker looks like." Carter said.
The Skinwalker looked no difference from an ordinary human. There was a different of course. But that difference could only be noticed by Carter.
The white-haired woman turned toward Carter.
"Why hunt us?" She said.
Carter shook his head, "It’s either you or us. Terrors grow by feasting human. Both of us cannot exist in the same world."
This was Zeneros speaking. It wasn’t Carter’s opinion. He actually didn’t want to exterminate the Terrors completely. Because if he did, where would his skin shards be.
"But didn’t human create us?"
Carter’s eyelids fluttered slightly. "What do you mean?"
The white-haired girl chuckled. She shook her head. "It doesn’t matter. You’re right. We cannot exist in the same world. Come, Eldritch Knight. Our kinds have heard of you for a long time. The one that shall arrived. Their Savior."
’What does she mean? Is there some plot that I missed?’
Carter hid his suspicion and unsheathed the Prisoner.
"Sir Zeneros Blackburn. The Raven Knight. You’re different from the other Terrors I fought. Tell me your name."
"I am Layla." The white-haired girl smiled gently. She didn’t look hostile at all.
Instead, she looked suicidal. A bitter smile came out of her like she knew she was going to die. Even though she was at the same Rank as Carter.
Both of them were Elite.
"Hmm..." Carter frowned. This Terror was so weird that he couldn’t figure out what the plot hole was.
"Prisoner Unbound." The Raven Armor appeared again and he dashed toward her.
"Eek!" The girl dropped back. But she was still too slow.
Carter’s blade slashed over her. Her arm exploded into white liquid and her skin was torn off.
’That thing... Isn’t that an ability of the Terror Witch?’
The white-haired girl abandoned her Terror Skin. The human skin dropped down on the ground. The Terror showed itself.
It still had humanoid figure and a slim waist. But it didn’t have a mouth, a nose, or a pair of ears. It only had one giant purple eye in the middle of its forehead.
"You’re so scary, Eldritch Knight." The Witch said. She wasn’t being sarcastic. She was being truthful. The Terror was trembling in fear.
Carter jumped at her once again. Her purple eye pulsed. A sensation went over Carter’s body.
’What is this? Is she Medusa or something?’
Carter felt slower. But his body didn’t turn to stone.
His state allowed the Witch to evade his attack. Her claws grew longer as she slashed it toward him. He easily deflected it away.
"You have a weird ability." Carter mumbled. Terror Witch shouldn’t have this ability. It probably something they awakened once they reached Elite.
The Witch didn’t reply. It looked at him again. The purple eye pulsed and slowed him down.
Its effect couldn’t last too long on Carter so she had to use it repeatedly. Still, even that wasn’t enough to keep her on par with the Raven Knight.
"So scary. So scary. How can a being like you exist?" The Witch sounded like she wanted to cry.
Carter rushed at her again. His slowed state allowed the Witch to get away.
"Hmm." Carter stopped.
The Witch tapped her chest like she was comforting herself. "Are you tired now? Is it everything you can do?"
"You’re here to die, aren’t you?" Carter said.
The Witch fluttered, "What do you mean?"
The Raven Knight turned his head toward another direction. His Living Sense couldn’t detect anything over there. But his Sonar Echolocation could.
With his Perception Skill jumped to Elite level because of the Elite Carter Hayes, his Sonar Echolocation had a much wider range than before.
A kilometer from here, a group of Terrors was watching the fight.
They scattered immediately as soon as Carter looked to their direction.
"Eek!" The Witch rushed at him. She couldn’t even scratch him with her claws because she was too slow.
Carter simply stepped backwards.
"You’re here to learn about me."
The hands of the Witch trembled. He was right. The Witch was sent here to test the power of the Savior.
Nothing could stop the Savior. Nothing could keep him away. That was the Prophecy. The Witch knew she would die. But she must do what she had to do.
The white swordsman sighed briefly, "Why did this world give your kind consciousness? You should have just stayed as mindless monsters."
The red aura appeared around the white swordsman again. This time, it was even thicker and redder.
She didn’t move but the vision of the Witch fell to the ground.
