I Reincarnated as The Protagonist's Best Friend

Chapter 33: The Day Before

Chapter 33: The Day Before

The Academy City Plaza was a massive. It is where most of the business of the Academy City is concluded. It was big enough to hold 3 million people at once. Though only until recently that it was barely enough to hold 1 million people.

The Academy City Council anticipated the surge of students and started expanding before hand. The whole City is mostly students with adults only there to maintain the infrastructure. Such as owning shops or going out side. Students can’t leave the Academy City under any circumstances for the next four years... once admitted that is.

After graduation, Students can stay or leave. Or buy a land to start business.

Any kind of contact outside is made through latters. And the teachers here are more like indifferent trainer plus investor. They won’t go out of their way to help anyone, if they can’t even help themselves by asking, why would they? As long as the victims didn’t say they were being abused, the professors won’t interven.

But once someone did complain of something like bullying, the punishment is severe. Regardless of status, they will be expelled. And no one would say anything even if they are humiliated because of one reason and one reason only...

Quash and every Students that came with him were re grouped after they got out of the airport. They were lead to an Inn arranged by their city government. The booking must be done months ago or they won’t be getting any good Inns.

Quash was looking around the buildings. From above, the place looked like a city but once he was inside the city, the vibe was completely different.

The buildings were medieval style, roads binded with stones. The clamours around him was very up lifting, making his heart race in excitement for no reason.

The buildings were no taller than three storey. A big clock tower at the center. And Quash couldn’t help but squint his eyes to look closer, because he was seeing faint lines in the sky. But on quickly realised what it was, the Formation covering the whole Academy City.

He also saw flying trains zooming through the sky.

Before long, they arrived in front of a massive three storey building that looked like a Lord Manor. It has its own court yard, garden, pool facility and this is considered mid tier Inn...

The inside of the Inn was luxurious, the first floor was restaurant. People can dine here regardless of them not staying here. The second and third floors are for staying.

The group was lead to their room by the Inn staff. And Quash had to admit, the Inn looked bigger inside than outside.

Which was the case because Space Expansion Formation.

Quash was assigned the room 236. Inside the room was moderate. The decorations were fine with carpets, bedside, dressing table and few other stuff. The bed was also queen sized?

Quash had no idea about the sizes of beds so he gave up. He walked up to the window and opened it. And Instantly, a wave of fresh air swarmed into the room. Now that Quash wasn’t circulating, he could smell another type of smell. The scent of the city, it felt like old, woody but rich. He enjoyed the scent because once he got used to this, he may not he able to.

From Quash’s window, he go the view of the airport and beyond. But he wanted the view that showed the clock tower because this side of the city didn’t offer much to see.

But there was nothing he could do. So he slouched on the bed and took out his phone to pass time. Alan and Elina had told him that they are going to explore the city once they freshen up. Quash agreed without a second thought. Because he needed to get himself familiar with his massive place as well.

Quash scrolled through his phone, trying to connect to Academy City Forum but it looks like he needed to become a student first, then he will automatically get access to it.

Or at least, that’s what happened in the novel. Quash Sighed again, he was feeling a bit sleepy again. He woke up before dawn after all.

He lay sprawled on the bed, random scenarios passed through his mind, indicating he was about to fall asleep.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Quash! Open up!"

(A/N: FBI! OPEN UP!!!... Basically.)

"Shhh!! Keep it down Alan! This is public place!"

"Oh right. Sorry. Hehe~."

Bur before he could drift into the land of sleeps, he was herded awake by a jerk with no manners on how to knock.

Quash felt his head throb, eyes heavy and irritation flaring. At this moment, he wanted nothing to to beat Alan up. So eith that resolution, he got up, splashed some water and walked out of the room to find Alan and Elina chatting.

He smiled and the duo smiled as well. Quash rested his hand over Alan’s shoulder and started walking. Alan was all smiles when Quash clenched his hands into a fist and knuckled Alan’s spine. A hollow sound echoed accompanied by Alan’s gasp of pain. His back bend like a bow.

Anger flared inside him but Quash was long gone.

"Basterd! Wait for me! Don’t let me catch you! Argh! My spine!"

Alan also ran after Quash with an angry expression. Elina just sighed, she followed them shaking her head.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

After a while, Alan, Quash and Elina walked through the cityscapes while eating ice cream. Alan was occasionally running his back while Quash had a big smile on his face.

"The ice cream tastes tastier somehow."

"I hope you choke on that ’Tasty’ ice and die!"

Alan hissed at Quash, he was still salty about getting beaten up like that and not being able to pay back. That basterd grew strong too fast!

"Alright you two, cut it out already. The Ranking Battle will start from tomorrow onwards. So we should get some rest."

Elina tried to mediate but Quash never stopped gloating nor Alan stopped sulking. But they still went back after their tour. And before they parted, Alan threw a threat to Quash he dared him to challenge him tomorrow which just made Quash smile mockingly. Making Alan angrier.
