Chapter 34: Getting To Know Limit

Chapter 34: Getting To Know Limit

Quash lay on his bed after eating dinner provided by the Inn. The food was nice and service was great. He had no complaints, not that it would matter since he had to stay in for the next 7 days until the Ranking Battle was over.

Starting tomorrow 9 A.M., it would begun. There are hundreds of areas around the Academy City Plaza where matches will be held. The areas are divided by rank numbers. Each area is a big building that is enchanted by Space Expansion Formation. They can hold ten thousand students at once and hundreds of matches simultaneously.

They are called Battle Halls. Students need to go there and register their Ranking Badge to participate. And they need to notify the authority there when they’re leaving. The reason for that is, the matches happen automatically and if a perso leaves without notifying the authority, their name will continue to appear and their rank will go down.

The staff won’t go out of their way to intervene either when one leaves without notifying. They don’t hand hold, the hold Academy runs on the philosophy of carry your own weight.

And winning the matches will result in rank going up. If lost to someone of higher rank, nothing happens but if lost to someone of lower rank, rank will drop by one.

’This system is really similar to battle royal games back on earth...’

Quash couldn’t help but think with his eyes closed. His mind drifting back and forth between logical thinking about tomorrow to imagining random scenarios, indicating to Quash that he was about to fall asleep.

In his imagination, he imagined himself fighting strong opponents and blasting them into peices.

"Wait a fucking minutes!"

Quash’s drowsiness suddenly disappeared when a thought struck him like lightning.

"Do I know how to enhance my body with Aura!?"

He asked himself as he sat up on the bed.

"...Looks like I can."

After thinking for a moment, he remembered that he actually could. He just forgot about it since he hadn’t done anything that requires Body Enchantment at all.

"Damn... I’m the GOAT alright."

He murmured to himself before sinking into thinking. The principles of Body Enhancements is simple, channel Aura through the Cardiovascular System then seep them out of it. Into the bones, muscle and skin. And there you have it. Your body is enhanced with Aura. Now you can punch harder and run faster. You can also relish in your masochistic fetish longer(enhanced durability if you don’t get it).

But the thing is, normally, one just shoves everything through the Cardiovascular System and it seeps out naturally. But it is slow. Like painfully slow. It takes few seconds and it is very wastful as at the early stages, when a Knights Aura mastery is low, they tend to spread it throughout the body and just use it for speed and strength buff.

They don’t have that mental capacity or mastery of Aura it defend consciously, other than the passive buff by Body Enhancement.

Very inefficient.

To Quash at least.

"Hmm~. How can I cheese this..."

Quash thought as he rubbed chin with thought full expression. An idea suddenly popped up. Since he is low on Aura quantity, he needs to he very preservative, so what if instead of spreading the Aura throughout the whole body, he would just send a strand of it to the part that needs it?

That could certainly give more momentum to movement right? Like that cursed technique where cursed energy arrives late but impact is heavier?

"...That could work."

Quash wasn’t sure what he was doing but he separated a strand of Pure Aura from his Aura Core. The pure white Aura obediently separated and he shoved it into his Cardiovascular System near the Lower Dantian and the next moment, it was in his right arm. He stretched it and let the Aura spread out on its own. It didn’t take long, less than a second.

Quash felt a weird sensation on his right arm. It felt warmer and heavier somehow. But he could also feel the power underneath it. He punched the air and the air in the room steered a bit. A wave of wind spread around the room from the shock wave.

"Huh... Sweet. But that’s kinda slow eh?"

Quash again fell into deep thought. How should he make this method faster and more efficient? He replyed the feeling and the happenings when he used Body Enhancement. He noticed that he lost track of the Aura when the seep out of the Cardiovascular System. Meaning he couldn’t call it back.

Which was normal because people just continuesly keep supplying Aura into their Cardiovascular System and when they use it, the Aura seep out, filling the space. Retracting the Aura usually produces a bit of waste because the Aura that seeped out of the Cardiovascular System cannot be called back.

So the idea was, to figure out a way to stay connected to the seeped out Aura.

But the question remained, how?

It wasn’t that he just had to track a strand of Aura but to the smallest spark of it.

And when he reached that conclusion, he could already feel that it was beyond the current him. He simply didn’t have the computing power, nor senses developed enough to sense something so small.

"Sigh~. Its not like I have to conquer the world tomorrow or anything. I will figure it out later... but it still won’t hurt to try once."

Quash murmured and focused all his attention to tue strand of Aura seeping out of his Cardiovascular System of his arm. And as expected, he couldn’t track anything. The moment they seeped into the muscles, bones or skins, they were gone. He simply could not sense them.

At all.

With a sigh, Quash slumped back to the bed. He got to know the limits of Abstract Stats. And from ehat he had read in the novel, he haven’t even touched the surface of what the truly strong can do.

But he needed to find a way to use his Aura effectively since he his Aura quantity was low-

"Wait a fucking minute! I could just cultivate!"

Quash sat up again on the bed. His face full of disbelief. How could he have forgotten that? His primary goal after coming here was to cultivate an increase his Aura capacity. And with the density of Natural Energy in the Air and his circulation speed, he didn’t belive that he couldn’t increase his Aura dramatically.

But he also needed to keep the fact in mind that if he sucked in too much at once, he could get unnecessary attention.

"Sigh~. A man can’t even live the way they want."

With that, he started Aura Cultivation with the speed of a turtle. Just one cycle per second.
