I Picked the Useless Class… Turns Out It's the Most Broken in the Game

Chapter 88: Mana Went Out of Control?

Chapter 88: Mana Went Out of Control?

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It felt as if he was trying to reach inside his core.

His breathing turned ragged; he was trying his best to keep it in control.

A thought curled inside his mind as he groaned lightly.

’I just have to close the source...’

His consciousness turned towards his insides, but he wasn’t able to do anything.

Everything around him seemed pitch black, as if he were standing in the middle of nowhere.

No kind of sound was present in there, just the faint whispers of his ragged breathing.

"Why’s it black? Isn’t it supposed to be red?" He muttered, looking around him.

He let a deep sigh escape through his mouth as he shrugged lightly. "I don’t have any other choice but to move."

He took a step forward, and the next instant, his body dropped down.

"W-What?" He said, eyes widening slightly.

He remained in the air for a while, but then fell on the ground with a loud THUD!!

But the moment he made contact with the ground, a loud voice of SPLASH!! filled the air entirely.

A loud gasp left his mouth, eyes closed as he muttered. "W-what the hell?"

His body was covered with a strange liquid, which had a slimy texture.

Before he could think of doing something, his body moved on sheer instinct, as he pushed himself back up.

His eyes remained widened, and his body had started to ache all over.

A loud noise was ringing inside his mind as if someone was hitting his head with a hammer.

His eyes flickered a few times, and his vision remained blurry.

"I can’t see at all." He lifted his hand in the air as he slammed his own temple with it.

His vision came back, and the fuzziness disappeared.

Before he could move, a voice came from behind him. Leon didn’t waste a second, as he turned his head.

In front of him was sheer darkness, nothing was clearly visible to him. But a faint noise of footsteps echoed through the place.

And a strange aura, which was swirling in a circular motion, came into the light.

His eyes twitched as he said. "Who?" His tone carried confusion in it.

His eyes remained fixed at the front, but his mana covered his hand entirely and took the shape of a sword.

He narrowed his eyes, trying to get a glimpse of what was coming towards him.

"Master," the figure said.

The moment that voice touched his earlobes, a thought rang inside his head.

’That voice... it belongs to Darian.’

His eyes widened, his lips parted lightly as he said. "Darian?"

The aura which was swirling around Darian entered back inside of his body, as he bowed in front of Leon.

His head remained positioned towards the ground. "Yes, my lord." A sheer amount of loyalty was dripping through his tone.

Leon’s expression didn’t falter, but a thought filled his head.

’I’ll never get used to this sudden glimpse of his loyalty.’

He let a light sigh escape through his mouth as he said. "Let the formalities sit aside, Darian."

Darian gave a quick nod as he got back up. "Master," he said, his tone filled with determination.

He took a small pause, but then continued. "The state of your body is dire."

Leon shook his head lightly.

’Stating the obvious.’

"I know that much, Darian." He took a pause, stepping towards Darian.

"Tell me the way in which I can subdue that mana."

Darian didn’t waste any second, his voice came deep. "You have to control your core, master."

"Core? How can I control it? I never learned the arts of mana." Leon muttered.

Darian’s eyes widened completely, and a bead of sweat formed next to his temple. "What?"

"Master, are you trying to mess with me?" Darian asked, his voice loud.

He didn’t say anything, just simply shook his head. He looked around him once, noticing the sheer darkness once again.

’Why’s the entire area covered in darkness?’

His eyes stopped the moment they reached Darian. "Why are our surroundings covered with darkness?" he asked.

Darian didn’t say anything, but then finally his words filled the air. "Master, this is the inside of your mana core."

Leon’s eyes widened as he staggered backwards slightly. "Wh-what?" he said, his voice stuttering.

’My core? A mana core is supposed to be this big?’

He gulped, his face started to get filled with sweat. His eyes drifted towards the ground as a new thought curled inside his mind.

’And this liquid? What’s it about?’

Tons of questions started to swirl inside his brain, and no kind of answer came.

’And isn’t the mana core supposed to have circles revolving around it?’

He let a deep sigh leave his mouth, and started taking deep breaths as he rubbed the sweat off his face with the help of his hand.

"Darian, how can this be a core?"

"Are we inside of it? Or is this the actual shape of my core?" he asked, looking right into the eyes of Darian, which were glowing clearly in the darkness.

"It’s your core, master," he said, taking a short pause, but then continued. "The moment I first entered here, my thoughts were exactly like yours, my liege," he said.

Leon closed his eyes, kept his palm next to them as he let a sigh leave his mouth.

’Am I cursed? I definitely am.’ he thought.

"I don’t know why it’s like this, but for now I need to control the mana which is trying to take over my mind," he said, his eyes remaining fixated on Darian.

Darian gave a quick nod. Leon’s voice filled the air again, this time, the authority was buried inside of it. "Guide me, Darian," he said.
