Lin Nan didn't actually make Chen Yao kneel on the washboard.

Leaning on Chen Yao's shoulder, a rich sense of security and comfort gradually spread throughout her body, making her yawn several times in succession. She was actually getting a bit sleepy.
"If you're tired, go sleep in the room." Chen Yao looked down at Lin Nan leaning on him like a kitten and said with a smile, "I'll try out this game today. Tomorrow I'll buy two games you're interested in, and we can play together, how's that?"
"Mm." Lin Nan made a sound of agreement without paying much attention, just shifted her body and curled up entirely on the sofa, using Chen Yao's thigh as a pillow.
Chen Yao smiled with squinted eyes, gently brushing aside Lin Nan's hair strands. Her hair was light, smooth, and silky, like fabric.
"Should I wake you up tonight then?"
"Five o'clock. I'm afraid if I sleep too long, I won't be able to sleep tonight."
Lin Nan adjusted her position again, but suddenly felt something hot gradually rising up and then pressing against her ear.

She was so startled she sat straight up, looking at Chen Yao with an unfriendly expression.
Chen Yao was extremely embarrassed. He grinned and forced a smile, then tried hard to defend himself. "I'm a normal man!"
"Bah! You’re just a pervert!"
Lin Nan got up from the sofa unhappily. She felt Chen Yao had let down such a warm scene. Boyfriend playing games while his girlfriend curled up beside him, sleeping with her head on his leg.
Such a heartwarming scene couldn't even last a minute!
Her drowsiness had faded too. Lin Nan had planned to go back to the bedroom to lie down and sleep for a bit, but suddenly remembered that Chen Yao seemed not to have eaten lunch today.
"Should I go downstairs and buy you something to eat?"
She rubbed her stomach. She didn't know if hot pot was just too easy to digest or if she was simply being gluttonous, but she also felt like eating something.
"Rice with toppings?"
"Then I'm buying myself potato chips."
"You're on your period. Can you still eat potato chips?"
"As long as it's not cold, it should be fine."
Saying this, Lin Nan grabbed her keys, pushed open the door, and left the rental apartment.
It was Saturday now. School had just started a week ago. Due to the epidemic, students had mostly been cooped up at home for several months before. Finally having a weekend off made them all full of thoughts about going out to play everywhere.

Only then did Tu Junhui notice Lin Nan, his face full of surprise. "Nan Nan, what are you doing here?"
"Big Dog, Tu Tu? How did you two end up together?" Lin Nan looked behind Tu Junhui but didn't see Xiong Da's figure. "Where's Xiong Da? Did you leave him alone in the dorm?"
"He pulled an all-nighter last night and is still sleeping now." Tu Junhui scratched his head, smiling like an idiot. "Big Dog said he's opening a milk tea shop and it's being renovated. I was curious, so I came to look."
"Opening a shop?"
Lin Nan's face immediately filled with envy. In a flash, she forgot about Chen Yao waiting for food back at the rental! "Big Dog, you're rich! Is it far? I want to see too."
Should have just asked for money back when helping Big Dog boost his game rank.
"Just up ahead."
The three walked side by side toward the milk tea shop Big Dog was preparing to open.
After the epidemic, quite a few storefronts posted transfer notices. That maid cafe from last semester that had caused such a commotion had now closed down too. Arriving at the storefront Big Dog had rented, Lin Nan poked her head in to look and discovered the renovation was almost complete.
"Sister Nan, do you want to work part-time as a server at my shop?"
Knowing Lin Nan was usually pretty poor, Big Dog immediately said enthusiastically, "But you'd have to wear a maid outfit and hand out flyers at the entrance to attract customers for me."
"Now you've got my attention!" Tu Junhui's eyes instantly lit up. He immediately joined in trying to trick Lin Nan. "Big Dog's a generous guy. Nan Nan, if you sacrifice your appearance a bit, you could easily make three to five thousand a month!"
Lin Nan crossed her arms and looked at the milk tea shop's entrance, shaking her head with little interest.
"Having me dress as a mascot is fine, but forget the maid outfit."
"What's so good about dressing as a mascot! You're good-looking, so shouldn't you dress pretty and use your advantages to make money? Plus, it lets us ordinary-looking folks feast our eyes!" Tu Junhui had a completely matter-of-fact expression.

Big Dog still didn't know the situation. Although he'd also asked Chen Yao back then, Chen Yao had been too embarrassed to say who the culprit was. Now, he still had an excited expression, trying to trick Lin Nan.
However, after he'd followed for just two steps, he was stopped by Tu Junhui's chubby hand. "The last guy who got hit drank porridge for three days. You sure about this?"
