Chapter 319 : Couple's Banter

At noon, Lin Nan returned to the rental apartment alone.

Lin Nan's mood today was not good.

Not wearing underwear always made her feel uncomfortable during class, and she had to use purification magic once every half hour or so. But her memory wasn't that good either. When she got back to the apartment and took off her pants, she discovered that the inside of her jeans was already stained with some blood.

Fortunately, the denim material didn't absorb water well. Otherwise, during class, her butt would have already been showing red.

It's all Chen Yao's fault...

If he hadn't turned the tables on her last night, then Lin Nan would have been able to unlock the more advanced purification magic and wouldn't be this troubled.

Thinking about last night's events, Lin Nan's face flushed a bit red.

There was no one in the room, and the curtains were drawn. Lin Nan sat cross-legged on the bed with bare legs while searching on Baidu.

"Why don't I feel anything when kissing?"

After reading a few answers, Lin Nan's eyes were opened. For the first time, she learned there were actually so many intricacies involved.

"It's definitely because Chen Yao's technique is bad. Yeah." Lin Nan muttered, lowering her head to take out a sanitary pad from the bedside cabinet. But she suddenly thought that if Chen Yao's technique was actually good, that would be an even bigger problem.

Holding the pad and gesturing with it, she finally decided that even if it stuck to her skin, she had to use it.

Otherwise, constantly having leaks and always having to wash pants would be too troublesome.

She looked toward the laundry area in the bathroom. After changing out of several pairs of pants, she'd just thrown them there. After two days, she still hadn't washed them.

Mainly, she was just lazy.

Lin Nan got out of bed and ran to the living room, her lower half bare, to search for clothes. She finally did find a pair of khaki capri pants.

She stuck the sanitary pad directly to her leg, then tried tearing it off...

That sour sensation made Lin Nan shudder several times from the pain.

But it should work.

After putting on the capri pants, Lin Nan discovered that most women's pants seemed pretty form-fitting. These capri pants were the same, tightly wrapping around her calves, thighs, and buttocks, outlining her figure with curves in all the right places.

She was examining these pants in front of the mirror when Chen Yao pushed open the door and came back.

"What did you buy?"

"Congee." Chen Yao placed two paper-boxed bowls of congee on the coffee table. Looking up at Lin Nan, he teased: "Those pants look pretty good on you. They show off your figure."

"I wasn't fat to begin with." Lin Nan retorted. "It's just that I have a bit more meat on my thighs, that's all."

"Having meat on the thighs is good. Feels nice."

Lin Nan walked over to Chen Yao with scissors and handed them to him, then turned around with her back to him: "Help me cut off the tag."

"Your butt seems to stick out a bit more?" Chen Yao casually cut off the tag, then mischievously patted her raised bottom.

"I think you're definitely asking for a beating..." Lin Nan muttered as she turned back around, lightly patting Chen Yao's cheek with her hand. Immediately, the guy grimaced in pain and quickly backed up several steps to sit on the sofa.

He nervously covered his face and threatened Lin Nan: "Don't get physical! If you beat me into a cripple, you'll still have to feed me!"

"Weirdo." Lin Nan plopped down beside Chen Yao, but then frowned and tugged at her pants. She always felt these capri pants were pulled too tight. Even just sitting down gave her the illusion they might burst.

She remembered when she first bought them and tried them on, they hadn't felt this tight.

Could it be she accidentally got fat?

Or did her figure change after unlocking magic?

She wasn't in the mood for congee. Looking up at Chen Yao, she asked: "Do you feel like I've gotten fatter?"

Chen Yao hesitated: "Your butt sticks out a bit more?"

"Really..." Lin Nan was stunned for a moment, not knowing if this change was good or bad.

Seeing Lin Nan's conflicted expression, Chen Yao immediately praised: "More sexy than before."

"Just eat your food!"

Wait, you get angry even when I compliment you?

Chen Yao sheepishly picked up his congee and carefully took a small spoonful. He tried chewing twice, but his mouth still twitched in pain.

This was century egg and pork congee. The century egg and congee could be swallowed without chewing, but the shredded pork was troublesome.

He could barely open his mouth, let alone chew. He could only sigh lifelessly, "I'm afraid I can only drink milk."

Lin Nan glanced at him expressionlessly, lowered her head, and asked, "Do you find it disgusting?"

"Huh?"

"I'll chew it up and spit it out for you to eat." A slight blush appeared on her face.

Chen Yao was stunned and quickly shook his head: "No need to go through so much trouble."

"You just find it disgusting." Lin Nan looked up and glared at him sullenly. "Then I'll eat it myself."

"Not disgusting, not disgusting at all. We've already kissed, how could I find it disgusting?" Chen Yao frantically explained himself. "I can eat by myself. My face is swollen, but I didn't turn into a baby, right?"

"Then eat it yourself."

Lin Nan picked up her bowl and walked toward the bedroom. Chen Yao didn't know what he'd done to upset Lin Nan. Today Lin Nan seemed to have been in a bad mood the whole time.

But clearly he was the one who got hit, right?

Any harder and his teeth probably would have fallen out, right?

Chen Yao cautiously looked through the doorway at Lin Nan's figure in the bedroom, guiltily put down his bowl, and then scurried over to the bedroom door. He poked his head in to look and found Lin Nan sitting on the bed looking dejected. Without hesitation, he admitted his fault: "I was wrong. I definitely won't mess around anymore. Don't be angry, you're always frowning."

"How about you hit me a couple more times to vent? I promise I won't get handsy anymore in the future, okay?"

"Hit me however you want. It just hurts a bit."

Lin Nan in the room looked up at him. Seeing his gauze-wrapped cheek and then his humble appearance, she immediately felt even more guilty.

She lowered her head and stammered: "Does it hurt a lot? Are you angry with me?"

"It's okay." Chen Yao leaned against the doorframe and scratched his head. "Why would I be angry with you?"

"I won't even let you touch me..." Lin Nan's head drooped even lower. "Some things I still can't really accept... so I hit a bit too hard."

Actually, Lin Nan had only known she was a girl for a short while. It was very normal that she couldn't accept it.

He needed to restrain himself more in the future.

He could understand Lin Nan's thoughts and continued: "It's fine, I don't mind at all. Just cheer up. Seeing you frowning makes me feel bad, too."

"Just don't hit me anymore in the future..."

Chen Yao felt inexplicably disappointed. In the past, he'd always felt he was the little angel protecting Lin Nan. Now he'd discovered that he'd always been protecting the people who made Lin Nan angry.

Back in middle school, if he hadn't stepped in to help Lin Nan and beat up those bullying punks, probably all those people would have had their death anniversaries celebrated several times by now, right?

Since Chen Yao wasn't too bothered by it, Lin Nan could feel a bit better.

After adjusting her mood slightly, she suddenly raised her head, lifted her little fist, and huffed: "If you ever cheat on me in the future!"

"Spare me, my lord! How would this lowly one dare to cheat!" Chen Yao immediately knelt on the bed, crawled over to Lin Nan's side, and joked around playfully. "From now on, I'm yours. If anyone dares to bully me, my wife will go over there and give them a smack! Beat them until they're crying for their parents!"

"Hmph, I don't like violence."

"That's right. After all these years, you've only used violence on me."
