Chapter 808: Two Months Pregnant
Chapter 808: Two Months Pregnant
Charlotte left the United States, made several transfers, and after a few exhausting nights, she arrived at a small country.
She exchanged the local currency at the airport and then hurriedly found a hotel to stay for the night.
Waking up in a foreign land, the fear and anxiety that had been clouding her mind were dried up by the sunlight streaming in through the window. She counted her remaining money, and if she lived frugally, she could survive in this country for over half a year.
In a moment of heated passion, with a desperate resolve, she left Robert Stephens. When she calmed down on the plane, she did feel a tinge of fear, mostly afraid that upon landing, she would find Robert waiting for her at the front.
However, there were no obstacles along the way.
If she truly wanted to escape, knowing what she did about Robert Stephens, it probably wouldn’t be possible.
A single phone call would be enough to make it impossible for her to escape.
The fact that she was able to transfer flights consecutively and arrive safely in this country was evidence that Robert Stephens did not try to stop her.
As this thought surfaced, her stomach churned painfully several times. She changed her clothes, had breakfast at the hotel’s buffet, and then asked the front desk where she could find a nearby rental agency.
The urban planning of this small country is not as good as the United States’, and even in the city center, upon exiting the hotel, there was a sky full of dust, gray and mousy, like a village within a city.
Charlotte had no luggage. She looked up at the sky, which was not entirely clear, and gently let out a breath.
In her life, she had never really been in control of her own destiny.
Chosen by Robert Stephens in her youth, influenced by her parents as she grew, and unable to even protect her own child.
With a second chance at life, she wanted to see if she could rely on her own strength to protect herself.
There was no reason for fate to be so cruel to her every time.

A month later.
On this particular day, Charlotte woke up with a lingering sense of unease.
She made herself a bowl of noodles, only to throw up after eating. Two months pregnant, she had lost about ten pounds.
With no one to take care of her, the pregnancy was taking its toll.
She did not have a visible pregnant belly. Due to her thinness, when she looked in the mirror after a shower at night, her abdomen was still flat, and only by touching it could she feel the slight roundness within.
This was a child that shouldn’t be born. If she had been born into a normal family, an ordinary woman, she probably wouldn’t choose to have it.
But then again, nothing about her life had ever been normal.
After throwing up, Charlotte went upstairs to shower, then headed out to a nearby supermarket to buy ingredients for her meal.
Here, beef was plentiful, and the prices were low. For a pregnant woman, her protein intake was adequate.
She planned to wait until she reached three months before going to a better maternity hospital for a check-up.
After leaving the supermarket, Charlotte spent a bit of money and hauled a pile of meat back home.
She planned to have steak for lunch.
As she was planning her lunch, her steps unknowingly slowed down when she saw, from a distance, a sleek black luxury sedan parked at her residence—something out of place in this country.
Standing about ten meters from her door, she was momentarily stunned to see a beautiful woman emerge from her door. Upon seeing Charlotte, the woman beamed and looked over, "Hello, Miss Smith."
Her appearance was as impeccably refined as the last time they met, standing impressively and strikingly in this murky city.
