Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 554: It was me unilaterally beating.

Chapter 554: It was me unilaterally beating.

By the time the movie ended, it was already past seven in the evening.

Director Carter invited the actors to stay for dinner, to discuss some editing issues of the movie. Daisy Ginger sent a text to Edward Stephens, informing him she’d be returning late and asking him to eat dinner first.

At ten o’clock, Daisy finished dinner with Director Carter and walked out of a small restaurant near his studio.

The actors were leaving one by one. Daisy bid farewell to familiar actors and agents, then got into the car with Elena Raven to personally drive her home.

As soon as the car started, it was suddenly jolted by a violent collision from behind. Daisy was caught off guard, hitting her head on the steering wheel. She let out a muffled groan, feeling a warm liquid trickling down her forehead.

"Daisy!"

Elena, who was sitting in the passenger seat, screamed, quickly reaching over to support her.

Because she was wearing a seatbelt, Daisy wasn’t thrown far by the impact, but when she lifted her head, she still felt dizzy from the collision.

"Daisy, you’re bleeding!"

"..." Daisy touched her forehead; sure enough, her fingers found moist blood. She took a gentle breath and heard someone tapping on the car window with knuckles.

She rolled down the window, and a bodyguard in black stood outside, handing her a business card.

Daisy took it and glanced at it.

The card was black with gold lettering, reading "Emma Magus."

"Sorry, Miss Ginger," the bodyguard apologized, "the accelerator was pressed too fast. The repair and medical expenses will be transferred to your bank account after you inform Miss Magus."

Daisy held the business card, looking down for a moment, and for some reason, she smiled.

Her smile was quite attractive, alluring in the night without her knowing.

The bodyguard’s gaze flickered.

"No need," she pressed the card under the car’s ashtray, opened the car door, and got out.

"Daisy..." Elena saw her getting out and hurriedly followed suit. She watched Daisy walk elegantly to Emma Magus’s car, then open it and suddenly reached in to drag Emma Magus out.

Right next to them was a cement flower bed. Daisy grabbed Emma Magus’s hair and slammed her head onto the flower bed.

"Bang!"

Everyone was stunned.

Even Emma Magus didn’t react at first; it wasn’t until Daisy kicked her to the ground and stomped on her hand with a high heel that she started to cover her forehead and scream loudly.

"Ahhhh—!!"

Edward Stephens received a call from the police station.

He was a little annoyed when he got the call.

Lately, in Tsing City, had he been receiving too many calls from the police?

And this time, the police called him to come over for bail.

Daisy had gotten into a street fight, and a bystander’s call led to her arrest.

He sat on the sofa listening to the female police officer on the phone, almost suspecting it was an April Fools’ joke.

When he arrived at the Tsing City police station, it was already almost midnight.

Daisy had a bandage on her forehead and was locked in a small room. She greeted him naturally when she saw him come over: "Edward."

"What the hell happened?"

Edward swore when he saw the injuries on her face.

He’d sent her out whole and unharmed this morning, and by evening she was injured like this and brought to the police station?

Street fighting?

Daisy?

Elena had already paid the fine and ran over to Edward with red eyes, saying, "Mr. Stephens, it wasn’t Daisy’s fault; it was Sister Kowalski, she crashed the car into them."

Edward paused and looked at Daisy: "She crashed into you?"

Daisy had been successfully bailed out and walked out of the small room.

Her face didn’t look good. "Rear-ended." Although she felt it was intentional.

"And then you fought her?"

"No." Daisy shrugged. "It was me unilaterally assaulting her."

In a public place, with public figures, and reported by common people, if this incident got big, Daisy’s career might be over.

Edward looked at her seriously: "Do you know the consequences?"

"I do. But considering she’s your friend, I’ve let her off plenty of times already."

This time, being provoked on the spot, she couldn’t swallow her anger.

"If this happens again, call me first."

Daisy raised her head to look at him, her lips slightly curved, and smiled: "Okay."

Edward glanced at her forehead. "Hospital?"

"No need." Daisy shook her head. "It’s a small injury, the bleeding has stopped."

The man nodded, saying nothing more, and turned to Elena. "Let’s go, I’ll take you home."

Elena thought Edward came to reprimand Daisy, but unexpectedly, with just a few words, it was settled. A bit dazed, hearing Edward say he’d take her home, she felt flattered and quickly replied, "No need, I can just get a taxi. Mr. Stephens, you and Daisy should head back."

Since it wasn’t on the way, Edward didn’t insist too much, and after sending Elena into a car, the two of them returned to the vehicle.

Daisy, injured, still looked a bit pale. Edward sat in the car, silent for a while before saying, "I’m sorry."

"..." Daisy opened her eyes and looked at the man next to her, his gaze cast down in the light.

He appeared very calm, his long eyelashes shadowing his heavy gaze.

She reached out, lightly grasping the man’s fingers, feeling their slight chill.

"I’m okay," she sighed softly in her heart, speaking to comfort him, "Don’t blame yourself. This matter really has nothing to do with you—why apologize to me?"

She smiled at him, but the man didn’t relax. He raised his eyes, his dark gaze locking onto hers.

Cool fingertips gently touched her wound, and he asked her, "How long has it been since you last got hurt?"

"..."

"Is it every time I appear by your side, you end up hurt because of me?"

Daisy abruptly reached out and hugged him, burying her face in his chest.

"I don’t like you saying things like that, stop it. I’ll be with whoever I want, no one can force me."

Edward let her hold him without returning the embrace.

He watched the darkened sky outside and spoke softly, "Daisy, I want to go back to Chicago for a bit."

"No way."

He sighed softly, "I’ll handle it."

Daisy looked up at him, "When are you coming back?"

"No one will dare hurt you again."

"How long will it take?"

"..." Edward didn’t know. "I’ll do my best..."

"No way." Daisy shook her head. "I don’t agree. If you dare go, I’ll have another child with James Shelton, and when you come back, it’ll drive you mad."

This time, Edward was genuinely amused.

He pinched her face hard and said, annoyed, "You certainly have the nerve to say that."

She had no shame at all?
