Chapter 555: Go back to Chicago with you
Chapter 555: Go back to Chicago with you
He forcefully pinched her face, angrily saying, "You really have the nerve to say that."
Four years without seeing her and she already had a three-year-old child with some random man. If he left for a few more years, this woman might really cheat on him again.
In a certain sense, there was nothing he could do with her.
The body was hers; if she wanted to have a child, she would. If she didn’t want to, she wouldn’t. He couldn’t control her.
"Don’t you walk away," Daisy held him tightly, her voice was very low, also sounding somewhat hoarse, "You know, the thing I hate most in this life is waiting for someone... I’ve had enough, I don’t want to wait for anyone anymore. If you dare to leave, I’ll find someone else tomorrow to have a child with."
Edward wrapped his arm around her waist and angrily said, "You wouldn’t dare!"
Daisy lifted her head to look at him, her eyes holding a sly gleam, she pouted, "Watch me."
Edward was at a loss for words.
Thinking of James made him furious, he nodded and said, "You would dare, you really would! Is there anything you wouldn’t dare to do?"
Daisy was afraid he might die from anger, she quickly soothed him, "Why are you in such a rush? When everything is resolved, we can have another one, alright?"
She promised.
Edward, thinking of all her past mistakes, was still very angry, his voice hoarse as he said, "You still dare to say!"
Daisy lowered her eyes, chuckled softly, and gently said, "Edward, let’s live well together from now on, shall we?"
"..."
"When everything is over, I’ll go with you to Chicago."
The man’s arm suddenly tightened, and Daisy could hear his chest heaving.
In her heart, for some reason, she felt a bit of sadness; between the two of them, there were many misunderstandings, many mistakes, mutual harm, but eventually, they still came together.
He was trying hard to get better, desperately loving her, she didn’t want to let down this man’s deep affection any longer.
She had already lost the Edward she once had and didn’t wish to lose this one again.
Daisy continued, "So, don’t plan on bearing everything alone, even if I’m not much help, I’m still worth having to warm your bed at night."
Edward: "..."
Bold and shameless.
She hadn’t warmed his bed that many times either.
He lowered his eyes, reached out, and pinched the woman’s delicate chin, his voice deep as he said, "Fine, then tonight you’re warming my bed."
Daisy smiled and pushed him away, "No, I’m injured, I need to recuperate."
"..." He knew it.
Edward rolled his eyes, lazily leaned back against the chair. Outside the car window was the silent night; it was very late, there weren’t many people, but the warm orange streetlights cast a glow, and Daisy obediently curled up in his arms, carrying a faint scent of roses.
It was the fragrance that once haunted his dreams.
Unattainable.
And now, this once hysterically resistant little woman finally agreed to stay by his side, yet he had no way to give her a stable future.
He felt a trace of anxiety about his own inability.
"Daisy," the man softly said, "Being around me is going to be very dangerous."
This was the truth.
As long as Robert refused to accept Daisy, every second around him was fraught with danger for her.
"I know." She laughed, "But I still want to be with you."
There probably wouldn’t be a more moving love confession than this sentence.
The man lowered his head, looked deeply into her eyes.
He hugged her slender waist tightly, and softly said, "If it doesn’t work out, I’ll die together with you."
He wouldn’t leave her to walk alone.
