Chapter 553: That guy indeed has filthy and vulgar thoughts.

Chapter 553: That guy indeed has filthy and vulgar thoughts.

Edward Stephens grumbled, "I told you I got forced into a kiss, how can you refuse a forced kiss?"

He seemed quite justified.

Daisy Ginger reached out and pinched his cheek, the man lowered his eyes, his dark pupils smiling as they looked at her.

Somehow, her eyes also filled with traces of a smile, clearly doing nothing, just meeting his gaze made her heart feel light.

She wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, pulling his face down for a face-to-face kiss.

After the two cuddled for a while, Daisy Ginger released him with a bright smile.

"All disinfected, now go take a bath."

The man’s lips still glistened with a moist sheen. He seemed a bit reluctant, his long eyes glanced at her with deep meaning.

Daisy Ginger sat up, crossed her hands in front of her chest in an "X": "No! Go take a bath now!"

Edward Stephens reluctantly withdrew his gaze and was coaxed by Daisy to go take a bath.

After bathing, the two lay on the bed, one playing with their phone, the other reading a book.

On WeChat, Daisy told Elena Raven about her work for the next week.

Since participating in Director Carter’s historical drama, Elena, as a newcomer, had noticeably more invites than in the whole past year, although not yet comparable to big stars, she was getting busy.

The company was gearing up to go public, so she couldn’t handle things like at the start of Royal Entertainment, guiding an artist hand-in-hand. She considered hiring another agent for her.

On WeChat, Elena replied with an emoticon that said "received," and Daisy put down her phone, glancing at the man beside her reading a book.

Edward Stephens held an original French book in his hand, reading fast, skimming ten lines at a glance, flipping a page every half minute. The detailed lighting illuminated his thick lashes, his fair skin shrouded in a warm shadow, his contours clear yet scholarly.

Daisy thought, if he didn’t become a business mogul, he might even excel as a university professor.

Edward’s gaze stayed on the pages as he slowly spoke, "If you keep looking at me like this, I might do something despicable."

His slow, deep voice sounded serious, as if discussing something significant.

Daisy heard clearly, looked at him exuding an elegant elite vibe contrary to his rogue tone, turned her head with a dark face.

Forget being a university professor, with that rogue look, she was afraid he’d seduce innocent female students.

Edward turned and saw Daisy’s indescribable expression, which made him want to laugh, "What unspeakable things are you imagining again?"

Daisy certainly couldn’t admit she was worried he’d seduce female students. She feigned curiosity and glanced at the book Edward was holding, "What are you reading?"

"This? A science fiction novel, nothing interesting..."

"Then why read it?"

Edward put the book down, sighed, "Isn’t it because you wouldn’t let me touch you today?"

"..."

"The long night, I have to find something to do, right?"

Daisy: "Don’t hang out with Ryan Smith anymore."

"..."

"Look at what you’ve learned." She was extremely disdainful.

"...Alright." Edward nodded, agreeing solemnly, "You’re right, that guy does have filthy, vulgar thoughts."

Daisy: "..."

Shameless.

Daisy gave him an indescribable look, and the man curved his lips, finally unable to help himself, held her and chuckled quietly.

Being with someone you like, even the simplest conversation can bring joy.

*

That day, Director Carter called Daisy, asking if she could come to his studio for a bit; he said the film was edited and would be sent for review in a few days and she could come to see the sample.

At this pace, it could be released before the end of the year. Daisy agreed, then called Elena, asking her to join her in the afternoon to watch the sample at Director Carter’s studio after finishing her show.

That afternoon, when Elena came back, Daisy drove to Director Carter’s studio.

Because of this film, the chubby Director Carter had slimmed down significantly; his previously greasy look wasn’t as offensive after thinning down.

Rumor had it that because Edward Stephens was in Tsing City, he didn’t dare visit nightclubs much, nor entertain actresses offering themselves up, living in restraint, afraid of Edward catching any chance to beat him.

Director Carter’s studio was in the city center; Daisy drove for half an hour and arrived quickly.

Getting out with Elena, just behind her, a red BMW parked; Daisy, without turning, heard Elena greet politely, "Sister Kowalski."

Slightly turning her head, Daisy glanced beside her.

Sure enough, Emma Magus stepped out from that red BMW.

Since her comeback, with Robert Stephens backing her, her career was thriving. Rumor said she had secured several international endorsements, essentially covering the deals Edward lost in a month.

She wore the latest luxury gown, assisted by a bodyguard out of the car, turning an ordinary meeting into a red carpet affair.

Standing with her, clad in a simple short skirt and Daisy in professional attire, their aura seemed unreachably apart.

Daisy glanced at her, then withdrew her gaze.

Ever since knowing she concealed her disappearance in the woods, Daisy lost interest in her, though she didn’t maliciously spread rumors in the industry, there was an added degree of disgust and caution towards this woman.

"Let’s go."

She pulled Elena along into Director Carter’s studio.

Director Carter’s assistant greeted them.

Entering, Daisy discovered several actors there, all notified to watch the sample today.

After exchanging greetings, Daisy led Elena to seats in the studio’s mini theater.

Emma Magus was the last to enter, taking a seat at the back.

The movie was unfinished, over three hours long; Daisy noticed cold stares lingering on her from behind.

She turned; the person didn’t avoid, meeting her gaze directly.

Emma Magus.

Her gaze was no longer the same as their initial meeting.

Now she harbored hatred towards her.

If her look in the boutique carried malice before, now it was deep-seated hatred.

Hate her?

Daisy found it somewhat amusing.

Are you kidding?

She almost got her killed, yet she’s the one who harbors hate.

"Daisy?"

Noticing her distraction, Elena gently pulled her hand.

"It’s nothing." Daisy shook her head, withdrew her gaze, and patted Elena’s hand.

Whatever the film was about, Daisy didn’t pay much attention, Emma Magus’s resentful eyes flickered in her mind, unsettling her.
