His Untold Lies

Chapter 30 Deal With It

Chapter 30 Deal With It

They had been running for nearly ten minutes. Kianna's entire body was in motion; her leg muscles were warm from the exertion, fresh air filled her lungs, and her blood flowed swiftly through her limbs. Her heart pounded, and her gut churned as her legs started to tire. Gasping for breath, they ducked into a parking lot to catch their breath.

"It should be safe now," Miaree panted, trying to regain her breath.

"Kianna... What on earth just happened back there?" Marcy asked, her curiosity getting the best of her.

"Why did he mislead those reporters and his fans?! He's going too far! Doesn't he realize how terrible his fake fans can be?" Miaree chimed in.

Kianna was seething with anger at Nate and found it hard to control her emotions. "He did it on purpose. He thanked me earlier for something. Maybe that's why he helped me yesterday with my problem involving Asteria. He planned this in advance and waited for me to fall into the trap!"

"What a cruel trick!" Miaree exclaimed.

"Hey, Miss Clumsy!"

A voice from behind startled them. When they turned to look, they saw Nate sitting in a van.

"How does it feel to be the subject of gossip?" Nate asked, a hint of a grin playing on his lips.

"How dare you! Did you intentionally mislead the reporters and your crazy fans just now?" Miaree demanded, her anger evident.

"Yes, I did."

"For what reason?" Kianna approached the van, locking eyes with Nate.

"To break off my engagement. I needed someone to help me with that so I could be free. Thanks to you, Kianna, my plan worked perfectly!" Nate replied.

Kianna crossed her arms and retorted, "Is that so? Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to play games with you, Mr. Ramirez. Clean up this mess right now and stop involving others in your lousy schemes! Come on, guys, let's go!"

"How dare you be so arrogant! We'll see about that. You'll learn not to anger me-"

"Childish!" Miaree stuck out her tongue and rolled her eyes.

Kianna left immediately, followed by her friends Miaree and Marcy. As they returned to the building, they found a horde of reporters waiting for them. The reporters swarmed Kianna, bombarding her with questions.

"Is it true that you're dating the heir of the Ramirez Group, Ms. Kianna?"

"What's your relationship with Mr. Ramirez?"

"Wow, you're quite something!"

"Are you planning to marry Mr. Ramirez?"

"Such shocking news, and you've kept it under wraps!"

"Did you know that you two were trending today?"

As reporters continued their barrage of questions, Kianna let out a heavy sigh. Miaree and Marcy immediately shielded her from the reporters. Thankfully, security guards quickly intervened, escorting the reporters out of the building.

"Well, well, well! You're quite the sensation now, Kianna Myst Saavedra! I was right about what I saw in the restroom, but you made me look like a liar in front of the dean. How does it feel to be so famous? It's amazing that you've caught the heir of the Ramirez Group!" Vera suddenly appeared behind them.

"You-"

"Eunice, let's not go too far. We're classmates, we should stick together. We should support our fellow classmates instead of jumping to conclusions," Miaree interjected.

"Support her? Are you crazy, Miaree? The video's out there, and Nathan Zac Ramirez is holding Kianna on stage in front of reporters!" Vera exclaimed angrily.

"I know it's a big deal right now, but that doesn't mean the rumors are true, Vera," Miaree argued.

Vera was seething with anger, her nostrils flaring. "How dare you call me crazy?! Don't act so high and mighty in front of me! There are reporters blocking the exit now. Let's see how you'll get out of this building without being swarmed by them."

"No matter how you insult me, I'm still better than you, you brainless fool!" Miaree shot back.

"Let's stop this argument," Kianna intervened, pulling Miaree away from Vera.

"I think I need to address them-"

"What?! Are you out of your mind, Kianna? Do you see the horde of reporters waiting for you outside?" Miaree interrupted.

"Kianna's right. She needs to speak up and clear this mess. She's the only one who can navigate through this chaos," Marcy added.

Miaree reluctantly agreed, and they stepped outside to face the reporters hungry for answers.

"It's Kianna Myst Saavedra!" a male reporter exclaimed, pointing at Kianna.

"It's her indeed!"

"Go, stop her!"

"Kianna, what's your relationship with Nathan Zac Ramirez?"

"Kianna, are you flattered by Nathan Zac Ramirez's affection for you?"

"Kianna, what makes you special that the heir of the Ramirez Group likes you?"

"How's your relationship going? Can you give us some details?"

"Kianna, please say something..."

Kianna raised her hand and made a closing gesture, puzzling the reporters into silence.

"Thank you... I want to clarify the issue that's been circulating everywhere. It's not true that Mr. Ramirez and I are dating. It's a fabricated story created by others. I tripped earlier, and Mr. Ramirez kindly helped me up. The mysterious girlfriend you're all talking about isn't me; it's someone else."

"Then who is it?"

"I have no idea. You can ask Mr. Ramirez because he's the only one who can answer that question. So, please don't waste your time on me."

"Kianna! I was there earlier! I saw Mr. Ramirez talking to you! The pictures make it look like you were really close!"

Kianna smiled sincerely, "As I mentioned, don't waste your time on me. All these rumors are false, and I, Kianna Myst Saavedra, am not in a relationship with Mr. Nathan Zac Ramirez. I'm married. I can't be interested in Mr. Ramirez even if he's interested in me. Besides, I'm just a regular student. I hope you can respect my privacy." Kianna waved, signaling her intention to leave.

"But, Miss Kianna!"

Kianna halted and gestured toward the girl reporter. "I meant what I said. I understand you're trying to get a scoop, but let's not cross any boundaries here. I know you're just doing your job, so I'll let this slide. But next time, don't be surprised if I involve the police for harassment!"

The crowd fell silent, intimidated by Kianna's stern warning, and they watched as Kianna and her friends made their way to the campus gate. Once they were off-campus, they hailed a taxi and left.

"Kianna, you were amazing! That last line had everyone rattled. Have you figured out how to handle this situation?" Miaree inquired.

Kianna's lack of response worried both Miaree and Marcy, and they exchanged concerned glances.

"Kianna, are you okay?"

Kianna suddenly embraced Marcy and began to cry. "Wah! I'm in so much trouble this time!"

"Poor girl! It's okay. We'll figure it out," Miaree consoled Kianna.

"More than dealing with that crazy jerk, I'm concerned about explaining this gossip to Ares," Kianna admitted.

"Don't worry, Kianna. We'll find a way to help you. If you want, we can even talk to your husband and explain the situation," Marcy offered.

They headed to Marcy's house, where they spent time comforting Kianna and trying to help her regain her composure.

...

Vueravista Company CEO's Office

While Kianna's campus was in turmoil, Ares was engrossed in watching a cooking tutorial on his phone.

"I'll make this for Kianna tonight. She loves chicken-"

"Boss! Boss! Emergency!" His secretary burst into the room, clearly flustered.

"Calm down, take a deep breath," Ares said, still focused on his phone.

"Miss Kianna made the headlines this morning! It's Miss Kianna, the one you asked me to keep an eye on."

"Oh, really? I didn't know Kianna had become a celebrity. Are they smitten by her beauty now? Well, I can't blame them. She is indeed stunning-"

"Boss! Miss Kianna was supposedly dating Mr. Nathan Zac Ramirez, the heir of the Ramirez Group!" The secretary blurted out, prompting Ares to switch off his phone and fixate on him.

"What did you just say?" Ares's expression turned serious.

"Boss, you're a bit slow on the uptake! Here's the situation..." The secretary began recounting the rumor, "He's a troublemaker who enjoys giving his father, the chairman of the Ramirez Group, headaches. He was supposed to marry a wealthy family's daughter, but now he's making headlines with this rumor about dating Miss Kianna. But I suspect it's all his fabrication."

"Then cut him off!"

Ares's statement left the secretary momentarily speechless. "Cut him off? Boss! He's the chairman of the Ramirez Group's son! It won't be that simple to oppose them. We can't just cut him off," the secretary explained.

Ares was furious. "I don't care. My company is the largest in this country. Are you afraid of the Ramirez Group? You work for the Vueravista Company. You have nothing to fear."

"But, boss..."

"Whether you like it or not, this is your job. I'm your boss, so get moving!"

"Understood!" His secretary promptly exited the office.

Ares sighed heavily as he caught his breath. "What's gotten into my boss? Nathan Zac Ramirez is a significant figure, yet he wants to cut ties without a second thought. Is it because of Miss Kianna..."
