His Untold Lies

Chapter 23 Mess

Chapter 23 Mess

KIA

Every morning, the same repetitive ritual unfolds without fail. It's so predictable, so routine, that I could probably perform it in my sleep due to its sheer monotony. It's a daily routine dreaded not just by me but by countless others in our society. At precisely 7:20 a.m., my alarm clock blares with a loud, grating beep, signaling the commencement of yet another day. As I reluctantly open my eyes, I embark on the familiar process of shedding the comforting cocoon of my warm blanket, savoring every last bit of its enveloping warmth. I rub away the remnants of sleep from my eyes, shuffle out of bed, feeling disoriented and ill-prepared for the outside world.

"Mhm... I've been feeling drained for quite some time now."

The moment I rouse from slumber, I make a direct beeline for the restroom to prepare for the day's upcoming events. When I glance into the mirror, I'm taken aback to discover my neck adorned with a series of hickeys. Oh, God! How am I supposed to interpret this situation?

It's all a result of his actions! I have a nagging suspicion that something's amiss with Ares, but I can't quite put my finger on it. By day, he's the most pleasant person you could encounter, but once the sun sets, he transforms into a voracious beast! Nonetheless, he possesses an astonishing reservoir of energy, and, well, his prowess in the bedroom... Well, let's not dwell on that!

After a refreshing bath, I swiftly delve into my makeup routine, concealing any evidence of our late-night escapades. Following that, I ensure I'm appropriately attired by selecting some high-quality garments. Neglecting one's appearance can lead others to assume unhappiness and lack of motivation. Everyone here has something to bring to the table.

I make my way to the kitchen to check on him, where I find Ares preparing breakfast. Lately, he's developed a keen interest in culinary arts.

"How's your morning, sweetheart? There's no need to rush; breakfast is ready!" he announces cheerfully.

I'm absolutely famished, but due to the need to conceal my hickeys, I'm running short on time for breakfast. "I won't be eating now; I'm running late. I'll grab something from the cafeteria."

He responds calmly, "No problem at all. There's still plenty of time, and today, I'll drive you to school in my car. Besides... You put in so much effort the other night, and you really need to refuel with some food to regain your energy," he says with a hint of shyness.

Why does he come across as so bashful? It's me who should be feeling embarrassed at this point! Why didn't he blush when he... well, you know, the other night? It's truly bewildering!

"Oh, you're right. I'm currently preparing some eggs for your breakfast. Please take a seat, and I'll serve it shortly."

We sat down together for breakfast once she had finished cooking. After we finished, he kindly offered to drive me to school.

"Alright, here we are! Please have a productive day, and drive safely. Thank you."

"No problem," I replied. "I won't be late. I still have plenty of time. I'll pick you up after school."

"Sounds good. Alright, I'm off!"

As I turned to leave, he unexpectedly grabbed my wrist, preventing me from going any further. "What's... What's going on?"

With his cheerful demeanor intact, he reminded Miss Kianna that she hadn't settled the fee yet.

Reluctantly, I went through with it. I pulled his tie closer, bringing him closer to me, and planted a peck on his cheek.

"Okay, done! I have to get going; work awaits! See you later!" I quickly added before making my exit. I couldn't help but notice the veins on my face becoming more prominent. It was quite embarrassing!

It was just a kiss, right? I couldn't understand why my heart was racing like that!

Upon arriving at the campus, I headed straight for the building housing my department but came to an abrupt halt when I saw Vincent waiting for me there.

"The person who drove you earlier... Is that your husband?" he asked.

Why the sudden interest? What was he getting at?

"Yes, it is. Is there a problem with that, Vincent?"

He looked at me with a smirk and said, "I'm surprised you married someone who drives a Suzuki Swift! Kianna, even though I cheated on you, I'm in a much better position in life than this guy!"

"Why don't you mind your own business? And could you please move aside so I can pass?"

"Kianna! I can talk to my dad about helping your dad's company through this tough time, given the crisis it's currently facing. But there's a condition: you need to divorce that other man and marry me."

I stopped in my tracks, but I didn't turn to face him.

"I should have known you'd come to that conclusion. I should have known... I know you don't love anyone else more than you love me. Do you?"

"You have a nerve, Vince! I've decided not to divorce my husband, and the same goes for my father's business. I'll explore various options to address it. I don't need your f*cking help, so stay the f*ck away from me! Oh, and by the way, I'd really appreciate it if you stopped coming to see me. I can't stand looking at your pathetic face. I despise it. Thank you." I said before walking away, leaving him behind.

"Do you... Are you implying that I don't meet your standards? Can he really help you find a solution to your company's problem?"

Despite the fact that his voice continued to reach my ears, I chose to ignore him and started walking. I reached into my purse and retrieved my notepad, flipping through it to find my schedule. Let's see... My Psychology Statistics class is scheduled for 8:30 in the morning on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Since today is Thursday, I need to head to the auditorium for my class. I don't mind the late timing for this subject, as Psychology Statistics happens to be one of my favorites, and I can easily stay alert during the lecture.

The Vueravista Business Corporation

"Boss, are you feeling alright? Have you been unwell?" My assistant inquired.

"It's nothing. What new information have you gathered about the Rivera family in the past few years?" I inquired.

Ares' secretary swiftly arranged his papers and placed them on his desk, responding, "Boss, I have all the details for you. Recently, Vincent Rivera has been purchasing unusually large amounts of Saavedra Company shares in an attempt to relieve the pressure on his business. This should more or less put an end to it."

"What are your thoughts on the Saavedra Company?"

"You're getting into a risky situation, Boss!"

Ares's expression shifted abruptly to one of deep concentration as he considered various options for a solution.

"Boss... Did I say something wrong? Why do you look so intimidating?"

"No... I want you to act as my representative for the acquisition of the Saavedra Group. I want Vincent to reveal everything he's been hiding!"

As Ares became more serious, the room's temperature seemed to drop significantly. "Yes, sir, you can count on me to handle it!"

"I won't go easy on anyone who mistreats Kianna... If anyone dares to disrespect my girl, I'll bring them to their knees and create complete chaos..."
