His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Annette said, "The relationship between me and Connor is not what you think."

"Then what is it?" Austin asked.

"Friends. He is a pretty good friend of mine."

Austin sighed, "Naïve. You treat him as a friend. How about him?"

  Annette fell silent.

Austin continued, "He doesn't really regard you as his mate. He only wants to have sex with you. Once he succeeds, he will leave you."

He seemed to think of something and suddenly said, "Don't tell me you two have already..."

"Austin!" Annette frowned and said unhappily, "Don't talk nonsense."

Austin heaved a sigh of relief. "I knew you wouldn't do such a foolish thing."

Annette knew that Austin was concerned about her.

However, she felt awkward when he said those words.

Even so, she nodded and said, "I got it."

After dinner, they left the restaurant.

Austin took Annette back to her apartment.

Just as Annette was about to get out of the car, Austin said, "Annette, I have something to ask you."

Annette unfastened her seatbelt and looked at him. "What is it?"

"Do you think Jessica and Connor match each other?" Austin asked.

Annette frowned and said, "You don't allow me to be with Connor. Jessica is also your sister, yet you seem to support her. What do you mean?"

Austin shook his head hurriedly and said, "Annette, you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that Jessica was better than you. I didn't want you to get close to Connor because you didn't know how evil the Blood Moon Pack was. I was afraid that you would get hurt. However, Jessica was different. I strongly opposed Jessica's idea of marrying Connor, but if I didn't interfere, Jessica would still do it. At that time, the one who would suffer was not her, but the Black Thorn Pack. I was a little confused, so I asked you about this."

Annette did not know whether Austin's explanation was convincing to her.

She only knew that she did not like him mentioning Jessica and Connor at the same time.

  Jessica was not qualified.

"They are not a good match. Jessica overestimated herself. You know her well. She is not worthy of being the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack."

Annette opened the door and got out of the car. She turned around and said to Austin with a cold face, "I'm going up now. Be safe on the road."

She then walked into the building.

Looking at her back, Austin was alarmed.

Did she only consider Connor as a friend? Maybe not.

Austin held the steering wheel tightly.

If he still didn't interfere, Annette would eventually fall into Connor's trap.

Austin's mind linked Jessica, but she still did not respond to him.

He had no choice but to send Jessica a message.

  Austin: "I'll help you."

  Soon, his phone rang.

He parked the car at the roadside and picked up the phone. Jessica's voice sounded on the other side of the line.

"Are you going to help me?"

"That's right. Before I tell you what to do, don't do anything, understand?" Austin said.

"It's too late," Jessica said nonchalantly.

Austin frowned. "What did you do?"

"I hired someone to spread the news of Daphne's affairs. She will be in trouble soon."

  "Idiot!" Austin shouted.

"Why? What have I done wrong?"

"If Connor had feelings for Daphne, would he stand by and do nothing? As long as he investigates it, he will find out that you are behind this. If so, you would leave a bad impression on him."

Jessica said anxiously, "What should I do now?"

"What else? Make others take the blame. Remember, don't mess around anymore."

  "Got it."

Annette returned home and sat on the sofa gloomily.

  Her phone rang.

Seeing that it was a call from Connor, she ignored it.

The next morning, Annette woke up at nine o'clock. She turned on her phone and saw some bad comments on Daphne.

Only a night had passed, but it seemed that everyone was talking about Daphne's past.

In high school, she bullied her classmates. After work, she would not help the newcomers in the entertainment industry but only slander them.

She had affairs with many rich big shots...

Annette was a little surprised. She didn't know what was going on.

She thought, 'Daphne is so unlucky.

But it has nothing to do with me.'

Annette read through other news for a while. At half past ten, she finally got up to wash up and went downstairs to buy a doughnut.

As soon as she opened the door, she was embraced by a pair of strong arms.

Connor was standing in front of her. She looked at him in surprise.

"Why are you back? I thought you would be on a business trip for a week."

Connor pulled her into his arms and said, "Why didn't you answer the phone?"

  Annette was stunned.

"Answer me." Connor let go of her and met her eyes. "I have put aside my important work and rushed back. I want to know whether it's worth it."

Annette was in shock. "I didn't answer your call, so you rushed back?"

"Or why am I standing here now?"

  Annette felt guilty.

She did not pick up the phone last night just because she was moody and wanted to vent the dissatisfaction in her heart.

She did not expect that her action would make Connor give up such important work.

"I am just in a bad mood, and I don't want to talk to anyone. I didn't expect it to affect you."

After saying that, Annette stomped her feet in frustration. "So why did you come back? You make me feel even worse."

Connor poked her forehead gently. "Are you complaining about me? I was worried that something had happened to you."
