His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Annette spoke bluntly, which made Fiona a little embarrassed.

Fiona said unhappily, "I heard that you went to provoke Kyle again today. We had an agreement that you would stay away from Kyle after I let you teach at the university. Don't you remember it?"

Annette sneered. Fiona was framing her deliberately.

She called Connor over and said so in front of Connor. She wanted Connor to think that Annette was not a good mate.

  Normally, Annette may endure it.

However, she thought of what Fiona had done to her in the past and knew that Connor would not let her suffer. So, she decided not to put up with it anymore.

She looked at Fiona calmly and smiled, "Fiona, I think you haven't heard everything. Since you try to judge me from people's gossip, then you should at least keep an open mind. There are surveillance cameras in the cafeteria. You can go and check the footage. Then, you'll see what really happened. Also, Kyle may be outstanding in your eyes. But, let me remind you again. I don't see him as attractive at all. I rejected him, in the name of the Moon Goddess."

Fiona slammed the table and stood up. She pointed to Annette and said, "Watch your tone! You ill-bred orphan!"

  Connor said coldly, "Fiona."

Fiona was angry. When she heard Connor's voice, she turned to look at Connor.

Connor slightly released his Alpha's aura. As the Luna of the Crystal Pack, Fiona felt great pressure.

Fiona said hurriedly, "Mr. Norman, you heard it just now. She went too far."

"I don't think she said anything wrong. Instead, you really have a sharp tongue. As the president of Werewolf University, don't you think that this is against professional ethics?"

Since Connor took Annette's side, Fiona dared not to vent her anger now, no matter how furious she felt.

She gritted her teeth and reminded herself that she had to swallow it now.

After all, the Crystal Pack was no match for the Blood Moon Pack.

Connor walked to Annette and rested his hand on Annette's shoulder.

"I want you to be clear that this shouldn't happen again. From now on, if you want to complain to me, you have to figure out the truth first. You raised a useless boy. It's your business, but don't slander others. Also, if you pick on Annette and humiliate her again, I won't go easy on you next time."

After that, Connor left Fiona's office with Annette in his arms.

As they reached downstairs, Annette shook off his hand from her shoulder and kept a distance from him.

She looked at Connor in a bad mood.

Connor poked her forehead and asked, "Are you mad? Why? I'm not even mad."

"You have no right to criticize me since you hooked up with a female celebrity."

She also mentioned the topic last night.

At the thought of that, Connor said, "Didn't you say that you were not jealous?"

  "I'm not jealous."

"If so, you wouldn't have talked about it over and over again."

"I didn't. I'm just fighting back at the right time. I'm not your woman anyway," Annette said angrily.

  "Say the last sentence again."

  Connor took a step forward.

Annette said, "I didn't say anything."

She left quickly after she finished her words.

In the afternoon, after Annette got off work, Connor came to pick her up.

Annette said, "Send me home and then go back."

"I'll go to your house," Connor said.

Annette frowned. "Are you going to stay at my place again? It is not a fancy hotel."

"Indeed. But I don't mind if it's shabby, as long as you are there."

  Annette felt warm and shy.

It was probably because she thought of the scene from last night when he hugged her to sleep.

"By the way, you didn't tell me that Kyle was also working here."

Connor's words made Annette suddenly feel guilty. She said, "I thought you knew."

He said lightly, "If you didn't tell me, how would I know?"

"I thought Fiona told you," Annette said immediately.

"You were so close to me, yet you didn't tell me about it. Why would she tell me about it?" Connor asked.

Annette did not refute. Seeing her keep silent, Connor thought a lot.

He was a little displeased. "You said that you had rejected him, but you still can't forget him, right?"

Annette turned to glare at him. "Of course not."

"Then why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I don't want any trouble. If you knew that Kyle worked at school, you would be overthinking. The Blood Moon Pack holds no grudge against the Crystal Pack, and what if you target them because of me? Besides, for me, where Kyle worked would not affect me at all."

Connor looked at her. "Tell me. In your heart, who is more important, Kyle or me?"

  Annette turned to him.

Why was Connor acting so childishly?

"I'm right in front of you now. Is it so hard to answer such a simple question?"

There was a hint of displeasure in Connor's tone.

Annette was amused by him and laughed. She said, "See? You're jealous. Not me."

"That's right. I'm jealous." Connor said bluntly, "So who is more important, me or him?"

"You." This time, Annette no longer hesitated.

Connor was happy. He asked, "You mean it, do you?"

"Yes. Kyle is no more than a stranger to me. What is the point of comparing you to him?"

"What were you hesitating for just now?"

Annette said, "I just didn't want to answer such a childish question."
