His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

Annette sighed. She continued, "As long as I showed up, Alpha Lance and Luna would quarrel. I don't want to admit that I am a member of the Black Thorn Pack, and Alpha Lance never asked me to go back. Otherwise, I would not be a rogue.

"I hate the Black Thorn Pack not only because I am Alpha Lance's illegitimate daughter, but also because he and his Luna hurt my mother. My mother was not Alpha Lance's mate. He tempted her. She was blinded by love and made the wrong choice.

"In fact, she could have abandoned me and started a new life, but she didn't. For the rest of her life, she was in a quandary because of me and the Black Thorn Pack. In the end..."

After a moment of silence, Annette smiled bitterly. "My mother killed herself."

She looked at Marcus, trying hard to suppress her emotions.

She pursed her lips and said, "Marcus, I am afraid of thunderstorms at night. Do you know why? One night, I got up to the bathroom and I saw my mother..."

"Enough!" Connor stood up and pulled Annette into his arms. "That's enough, Annette. You don't need to continue."

He looked at Marcus with sharp eyes.

Connor had never been so indifferent to Marcus.

"Is that what you want to hear? Marcus, you have gone too far."

Marcus lowered his head. Hearing Annette's story, he felt somewhat guilty.

Annette leaned sideways and came out of Connor's arms.

She said to Marcus, "I'm not going to make you sympathize with or feel sorry for me. I am hoping that you will not resent me because of the Black Thorn Pack. I hate them as much as you do. In front of you and Connor, I can promise that I will never see you again. I do not want to bear so much hatred because I don't deserve it."

Connor's face turned cold. He said to himself, 'Even now, she still dares to say that she will never see me again!

Do I mean nothing to her?'

Marcus looked up at Connor, whose face was gloomy. He then glanced at Annette and left without saying anything.

Connor said to Dwayne, "Leave us."

  Dwayne left respectfully.

Annette sighed. She did not notice Connor's anger.

  "I should go now."

  Annette looked at Connor.

Before she could see his expression, he leaned close and hugged her tightly. He lowered his head and kissed her overbearingly.

He bit her lip so hard that it hurt a little.

Annette reached out and hit his shoulder.

Connor released her. She said angrily, "Connor, what's the matter with you?"

"You feel OK leaving me for good, right?"

  Annette rolled her eyes.

  Connor said unhappily, "Answer me."

Annette lowered her head and said, "Yes."

As soon as she finished her words, Connor kissed her again.

  It was a punishment.

Annette patted him and said, "Connor, stop it."

"Will you be fine never to see me again?"

Annette looked at him and dared not to answer.

She knew that if she said 'yes', the next punishment would probably be worse.

  "Tell me."

Connor pinched her chin and made her look at him. "Yes, or no. If you don't answer, I will carry you upstairs right now."

Annette chose to compromise. She said, "No."

Connor smiled, "I thought you were going to be stubborn."

"My stubbornness won't bring any benefits to me. Can you let go of me now?"

Connor let go of her and said, "Let's go eat."

"I want to go home. I'm tired," Annette said.

"I'll take you home after dinner."

Connor didn't ask her to stay, and Annette heaved a sigh of relief.

After dinner, he kept his promise and drove her home.

However, Annette couldn't open the door with her key.

She tried several times, but it didn't work.

Connor smiled. He took out a key calmly and opened the door.

"How's that possible?" Annette asked in surprise.

Connor patted the door handle. "Don't you notice that the lock is new?"

Annette suddenly realized something. "You changed my lock? This is not my apartment. I rented it. Connor, have you lost your mind?"

"You think? Well, there's more." Connor opened the door with one hand and held her hand with the other to pull her in.

Annette grabbed the door frame and said, "I mean, you shouldn't change the lock without the landlord's consent."

Connor pointed to the next-door house and said, "Are you sure you want to argue with me at the door?"

Annette didn't want to embarrass herself.

  She entered the room.

After closing the door, she leaned against the door and said calmly, "Let's make it clear first. You should keep a distance from me."

Connor turned and walked into the room.

Annette followed him and was surprised. She almost couldn't recognize her home.

She frowned and stared at the new furniture that had been replaced in the room.

  "Did you do this?"

"Your sofa was not comfortable, and I didn't like it. The table was small and wasn't enough for us to eat together. Your bed was also small, and it is difficult to turn over when you fall asleep."

Annette ran to the bedroom and looked inside.

She turned around and looked at him. "Don't you think you should at least ask for my approval?"

"I wanted to tell you, but you had run away," Connor shrugged and said.

Annette said unhappily, "I didn't run away. I just went to Roxanne to relax."

"If I remember correctly, before you left, you left a message to me and said that you were going to break up with me."

Connor pushed her away and entered the bedroom.

He lay down on the bed and patted the place beside him. "Do you want to try it?"

Annette turned back to the living room and sat down on the sofa.

She had a headache. When would Connor lose interest in her?
