Chapter 83
Chapter 83
Roxanne knew that Annette hated talking about her family.
Annette would rather let people consider her a rogue than mention her family background.
Roxanne never expected Annette to have such a family background.
"I am Alpha Lance's illegitimate daughter. My mother is a human. She was not Alpha Lance's mate, so she was considered a home wrecker and was despised by the Black Thorn Pack. I hate Alpha Lance and the Black Thorn Pack because they made my mother kill herself ."
"Ann." Roxanne held Annette's hand.
Annette smiled bitterly. "I witnessed my mother's life, so I don't believe in the so-called mate. I mustered up my courage to accept Kyle. But, in the end, all I got was his betrayal, and the oath became a lie. Now, as for what Connor said to me, Kyle had also said it once."
Roxanne said angrily, "Damned Kyle!"
She walked to Annette and sat down.
She put on a serious face, which was rare. "Annette, men aren't the same. Do you intend to reject your mate just because of Kyle? He's not worth it."
Annette said, "I won't trust men so easily anymore. Roxanne, if I am betrayed again, I am afraid that I won't be able to love again. Connor is so outstanding and that's why I can't believe him. Just like Alpha Lance, even if he had a mate, he would still cheat on her and sleep with my mother. I don't know how long Connor's promise could last. I think if Connor is tired of it, he will probably let go."
"He is your mate arranged by the Moon Goddess. Don't you think it is a pity to reject him?"
"I'd rather be a coward than get hurt," Annette said.
Roxanne sighed. If she saw Kyle again, she would beat him up.
Annette thought of something and said, "Oh, by the way, I have to go back to Akron tomorrow."
"Why? Didn't you agree to stay here for a few more days?"
"Connor said he was going to pick me up. He is always that bossy, and I can't stay," Annette said.
Roxanne frowned. "I hope that you can become the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. That would be perfect. And it will piss Kyle off."
Annette laughed. "It's almost impossible for me and Connor."
She remembered how Marcus looked at her and knew that the feud between the Blood Moon Pack and the Black Thorn Pack was deeply rooted.
She was like a fish swimming in the pool, and Connor was a bird flying in the sky. It was difficult for them to be together.
The next day, Connor came to the hotel to pick her up and take her back to Akron.
When they returned to Connor's villa, Annette felt a little awkward.
In the living room, Connor said to Dwayne, "Go find Marcus."
"Okay, Alpha Connor."
Annette looked at Connor nervously and said, "Why are you looking for Marcus?"
"I told you. He needs to apologize to you."
"There's no need. He only told the truth. If you force him to apologize to me, I'll feel more embarrassed," Annette waved her hand and said.
"What are you worried about? He was wrong, not you." Connor pulled her to the table and said, "Let's eat."
Annette was not in the mood to eat.
Soon, Dwayne led Marcus in.
Looking at Annette, Marcus raised his head proudly.
Annette had seen this arrogant expression when he was in front of his classmates.
It was indifferent and distant.
"Connor, what do you want?" Marcus asked.
"I took Annette back. Do you think there's something you should tell her?" Connor said coldly.
Marcus' gaze fell on Annette's face.
"Annette, what do you think I should say to you? You are a teacher. Why don't you teach me how?" Marcus said.
Connor was annoyed by his words.
Connor slammed the fork on the table and said coldly, "Marcus."
Marcus took back his sharp gaze from Annette.
He calmed himself down and said, "Connor, I don't think I'm wrong, and I don't know what I should say to Annette. Anyway, in your eyes, no matter who Annette is, you will not change your mind. Even if what I did was right, you still think that I was wrong. I went to Annette and asked her to leave you, but I didn't ask her to leave Akron. She knew that you could find her, yet she still ran away. She was just going to get me into trouble. Why should I apologize to her? Do I have to forget the hatred between the two packs?"
"Enough!" Connor looked coldly at Marcus and said, "I will ask Dwayne to send you to Princeton tomorrow. Get out of my sight."
Annette stood up. She took a deep breath and said, "You don't have to be like this."
Marcus looked at Annette and said in annoyance, "I don't need your hypocritical kindness."
"Marcus!" Connor shouted angrily. Marcus immediately felt a strong pressure from the Alpha.
Connor had never released Alpha's pressure on Marcus before. Marcus' face turned pale, and he looked shocked.
Annette turned around and shook her head at Connor.
She walked to Marcus and said, "Marcus, even prisoners have a chance to defend themselves. I want to talk to you, will you listen to me?"
Marcus looked at her for a moment and frowned.
To be honest, he didn't hate Annette. Why did she happen to be a member of the Black Thorn Pack?
"What do you want to talk about?"
Annette took a deep breath and said, "I want to talk about my situation. I am indeed Alpha Lance's illegitimate daughter, but I never thought that I was a member of the Black Thorn Pack. If possible, I would rather never know about it in my life. I have never lived there and rarely met Alpha Lance, and I am hated by his Luna and Jessica."
