Chapter 82

　　A sad expression appeared on Annette's face. Connor softened his tone and said, "If you feel that there's no way out, stay by my side. Annette, I won't give up on you easily. I'll wait for you. I can't accept you leaving without saying goodbye."

　　Annette thought, 'That's the worst choice.'

　　Connor looked at her gently and said, "You stupid woman. I said so much to you before, but you didn't remember a single word. Marcus just talked nonsense, and you took it seriously."

　　Annette said in surprise, "How do you know that?"

　　Connor poked her forehead and said, "Of course, I know. Why didn't you tell me that he had come to you? If I didn't figure it out, would you intend to keep silent?"

　　"He was right. Even if I don't admit it, I am still Alpha Lance's illegitimate daughter. In the eyes of the members of the Blood Moon Pack, I am from the Black Thorn Pack," Annette sighed.

　　"You are not," Connor kissed her forehead and said, "In the future, no matter what happens to you, you must tell me. Don't ignore me, or I'll feel that I'm useless. Get it?"

　　They looked at each other for a moment.

　　Annette suddenly realized that they were so close to each other.

　　She pushed him and said, "I get it."

　　Connor took two steps back and said, "I will ask Marcus to apologize to you."

　　"No," Annette hesitated for a moment before saying, "He did it because he was worried about you."

　　"That was so thoughtful of you. If you treated me the same way, we would be having sex now." Connor said.

　　Annette blushed and glared at him.

　　Connor asked, "When are we going back?"

　　"I promised Roxanne that I would spend my vacation with her here," Annette replied.

　　"No." Connor sat down on the sofa and said, "I'm going back to attend a meeting tomorrow and can't stay here with you. I'll come back to pick you up the day after tomorrow."

　　He said as he stood up and walked to the bathroom.

　　Annette sighed. How was she going to face Roxanne, who expected to spend the vacation with her tomorrow?

　　And how was she going to face Marcus after returning to Akron? After all, she promised that she wouldn't contact Connor anymore.

　　Annette couldn't sleep till the next morning.

　　The next day, after having breakfast with her, Connor returned to Akron.

　　Annette had an appointment with Roxanne.

　　In the morning, they watched a movie together.

　　Coming out of the cinema, Roxanne took Annette to lunch.

　　Roxanne asked while eating, "Annette, Alpha Connor hasn't had a mate yet, right? Just introduce him to me. I'd love to be your sister-in-law."

　　Annette looked at Roxanne guiltily.

　　Roxanne pouted and said, "What's that look? Is it that difficult?"

　　"Roxanne, I lied to you about something."

　　Roxanne became serious and asked, "What is it?"

　　Annette looked at her seriously. "Alpha Connor is not my brother."

　　"What?" Roxanne asked in surprise, "What's going on here?"

　　Annette nodded. "Actually, Connor was the reason why I was able to replace Lena and stay at the university. He helped me out. At that time, I was grateful to him, so I went to buy him a gift. I didn't know how to explain it to you, so I lied."

　　"He is the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. And he helped you out with such a thing? Tell me honestly, is he your second chance?"

　　Annette looked at Roxanne silently.

　　Her gaze already gave the answer.

　　Roxanne clapped her hands together and smiled, "Really? If you accept Alpha Connor, you will be the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack!"

　　Annette was speechless and said inwardly, 'Seriously? Didn't you just ask me to introduce Connor to you? Don't you even feel mad?'

　　"He is much stronger than Kyle. When are you going to get married?"

　　Annette sighed, "Get married? That's off the table."

　　"Then how far have you gone? Holding hands? Kissing? Have you slept with him?" Roxanne was excited.

　　Annette's face blushed in an instant.

　　Roxanne covered her mouth with her hands and asked in surprise, "When did it happen?"

　　"What do you mean?"

　　"Your first time!" Roxanne said.

　　Annette was a little embarrassed. "Let's change the topic."

　　Roxanne waved her hand solemnly and said, "Nope. Tell me, now."

　　"The day I caught Kyle and Lena in bed."

　　Roxanne was shocked again. "What? That day?"

　　"Yes. I was depressed, so I went to a bar to drink. When I woke up, I found myself in Connor's room. Even now, I don't know what happened that night," Annette whispered.

　　Roxanne said with a smile, "When you get married, I will go to the Blood Moon Pack to attend your wedding."

　　Annette said, "I've told you. That's off the table."

　　"What? He doesn't admit that you are his mate?" Roxanne asked immediately.

　　"Roxanne, he is not the one for me." Annette's expression became a little serious. "And I am not the one for him, either."

　　"Why?"

　　"You know, I am a rogue and a hybrid. How can the Blood Moon Pack accept a Luna like me?"

　　Roxanne looked at Annette worriedly and asked, "Is there anyone from the Blood Moon Pack objecting to you?"

　　Annette lowered her head and smiled bitterly.

　　Roxanne said gloomily, "It can't be. He is the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. Can't he deal with it?"

　　"It's not his fault, but mine," Annette sighed.

　　"Is it because of Kyle? But you have rejected him." Roxanne asked.

　　Annette said, "Roxanne, I told you before. I am not an orphan. My father is Alpha Lance. He is now the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack and the president of the Fisher Group."
