His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 41

Chapter 41

"Who sent me home yesterday?" Annette felt a little guilty. She asked tentatively.

"It's Alpha from the Blood Moon Pack, Connor," Roxanne answered. Then, she said excitedly, "Annette, I didn't expect that the brother you were talking about was Alpha Connor. He is so good to you."

"He is good to me?" Annette asked, puzzled.

Roxanne told Annette about what happened last night excitedly. Annette felt embarrassed after hearing it. She did not know how to face Connor.

Annette thought with a sad face in the lounge. At this time, a woman came in. She glanced at Annette and then headed to get a cup of coffee.

Annette stood up and said to Roxanne, "Roxanne, I've got to go first. Let's catch up later at lunch."

She picked up her cup and was about to walk out.

At the same time, that woman also turned around.

Before the two bumped into each other, she spilled the entire cup of coffee on Annette.

Annette cried out in pain and grabbed her clothes. Then, she rushed to the sink, got a cup of cold water, and poured it on her dress.

Since it was a dress, she could not lift it to check the wound.

The woman didn't seem to care when she saw how Annette was hurt. She pretended to look sorry for Annette and said, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it, intern."

  Annette looked up at her.

"We didn't even bump into each other. Why did you splash your coffee on me?" asked Annette.

"What do you mean? We bumped into each other. Do you mean that I splashed the coffee on you on purpose?" the woman retorted immediately.

  "Isn't that so?" Annette asked.

The squabbling attracted a lot of attention.

The woman named Thea Morrison pulled Annette out and said to people around her, "I'm sorry to disturb you guys. Let me tell you what just happened. I made a cup of coffee just now. When I turned around, I bumped into this colleague of mine. I spilled my coffee on her accidentally, but she said that I did it on purpose. And I apologized to her. If I did it on purpose, I wouldn't apologize."

Annette looked at Thea's face as she complained with anger.

People started to talk. Since Annette was an intern, everyone took Thea's side.

"Annette, don't be angry. People in our office got along with one another. So, no one will target you."

"Since Thea said sorry to you, you should let it go."

Since everyone took Thea's side, Annette knew that even if she said that they didn't bump into each other and Thea did it on purpose, no one would believe her.

Annette glanced coldly at Thea. She turned around and left the crowd for the bathroom.

She slowly lifted her clothes and saw that the skin on her lower abdomen was swollen.

As a werewolf, she had a stronger self-healing ability than humans. However, she was just scalded and had not treated her wounds, so the injury looked bad.

At this time, Amanda passed Annette. She was shocked to see Annette's wound.

Amanda walked forward and said, "That looks bad. You should go to the hospital now."

Annette endured the pain and walked out of the bathroom. She went to her superior and asked for leave.

When Thea heard that Annette was going to the hospital, she sat in her seat and said disdainfully, "She is so delicate. It was just some coffee. Does she need to rush to the hospital?"

Annette said coldly, "It's hot coffee."

"The coffee was spilled on her dress, right?" Thea continued.

Amanda stepped forward and said, "Thea, it burnt her skin. The injury looked pretty bad."

Thea looked at Amanda coldly and said, "Amanda, what does this have to do with you? I know you don't like me, but stop fanning the flames here."

"Really? I saw it with my own eyes. Her belly was burnt? So, why can't I talk about it?" Amanda snorted coldly.

They were still arguing when the office door opened. Melvin walked out and looked at them unhappily. "What's going on? Why are you making so much noise? Did you all have nothing to do?"

Thea walked over to Melvin with a pout. She said with a grievance, "Mr. Horton, this is too much. I've been working here for a long time but I was bullied by an intern."

Thea told Melvin what she had said at the door of the lounge.

Amanda walked over and stood next to Annette. "Mr. Horton, let Annette go to the hospital to treat her injury. She was burnt by hot water. We can't treat her like this just because she is an intern, right?"

Thea stepped forward and looked at Amanda. "Amanda, what do you mean? Are you saying that I'm bullying her?"

"Well, you know it better than anyone else. What makes you think that you can be so arrogant?" Amanda was not afraid of Thea.

"Oh my, I have apologized to her. She was the one who slandered me. She said that we didn't bump into each other and that I spilled the coffee on her deliberately. She was targeting me," Thea's expression was dramatic.

"Annette is a newcomer and today is her second day of work. So, why would she target you?" Amanda wasn't convinced by Thea.

Melvin scolded, "Shut up, both of you."

He walked to Annette and said, "Annette, if your injuries are serious, go to the hospital now."

Annette went to the hospital. The doctor checked her and said that she had been burnt, which caused swelling.

The doctor treated her wound and wrapped it with gauze.

Annette didn't make another appointment because she knew she would recover soon after the treatment.

When Annette left the hospital, she saw Connor rushing over.

He saw Annette at a glance. He came to her and asked, "Are you alright?"

Annette was surprised. "Why are you here?"

"I'm asking you a question. How's your injury?"

Annette waved the bill in her hand. "It's nothing serious. The doctor has dealt with it."
