His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Annette sneered. "Sorry, I don't need your pure heart. In the future, don't come to me again. As for me, even if I suffer for the rest of my life, I will never ask for your help."

She turned around and was about to return to the restaurant.

Seeing her so determined, Kyle was going crazy. He shouted, "Annette, have you ever loved me?"

Annette felt that Kyle was ridiculous. Did he forget all the memories of love between them?

Was the bond between them not strong enough?

  Annette said angrily, "No."

"Annette, you will regret it. I swear that I will make you regret your decision," Kyle said.

Annette bit her lips. "Yes, I already regret it. I thought that you were different from others. If the Moon Goddess asks me to choose again, I will not accept you. I will reject you directly at the very beginning."

Though she didn't plan to fall out with Kyle, Annette wouldn't mind it anymore.

Since the day she decided to break up with him, she had no intention of changing her mind.

Since that was the case, it did not matter whether he believed her or not.

The next afternoon, Annette went to a French restaurant according to the address sent by Connor.

When Connor arrived, she was sitting next to the flower bed at the entrance of the restaurant.

"Why aren't you going in?" Connor asked.

Annette smiled, "I wanted to mourn for my wallet for a few minutes before going in."

She entered the restaurant together with Connor.

She glanced at the menu and asked him to order.

"Are you sure? Aren't you afraid that I'll order something expensive?" Connor smiled.

Annette curved her lips and said, "Just order whatever you want. Anyway, I can stay and work here to pay the bill. It doesn't matter."

Connor smiled. He lowered his head and began to order.

The French meal was served slowly.

Annette was not in a hurry. She took a sip of champagne and asked, "How did you negotiate with Fiona? Why did she change her mind so easily?"

  "You wanna know?" Connor asked.

"Yes." Annette nodded. "Can you tell me?"

"I didn't say much. I told her that I had taken a fancy to you. I asked her to let you teach at the university, or the Blood Moon Pack will regard the Crystal Pack as an enemy."

"Did Fiona agree without saying anything?" Annette asked.

"She said a lot of bad words about you." Connor looked at Annette's expression and asked, "Should I tell you about it?"

Annette said a little awkwardly, "No."

"If you promise me one thing, I will tell you what I have talked to her about. My company needs a part-time lecturer. Do you want to try it? If you come, I will tell you what she said," Connor suddenly said.

"Don't joke with me. I am not qualified to be a lecturer for a big company like yours." Annette did not believe him.

She said confidently, "You must have other things in mind."

Connor shook his glass calmly with a smile. He said, "You are smart, and talking with you is relaxing. Come to my company and prepare lunch for me every day."

She was surprised. "Prepare lunch for you?"

"That's right. You can choose not to work at my company, but I'll go to your place for dinner every day. Which one do you prefer?" Connor said, "I know you are afraid that I will pester you. To be honest, even if you don't come to my company, I will not give up on you. As for the reason, you should have guessed it. Annette, I like you."

  Annette frowned. Connor liked her?

"I don't have any bad intentions. It is just that the food you cook brings me the feeling as an ordinary person. Can you imagine it? Since I was a child, I sat in front of a large dining table with a lot of servants around me for every meal."

  Annette's heart sank a little.

"When can I start working?" She asked.

"It would be best to start tomorrow."

Annette continued, "Now you can tell me what bad words Fiona said about me."

"I know a little about Fiona's personality. The things she said were all lies. You don't need to care about it."

"Why are you so sure they are lies?"

"She said that you are indiscreet about your private life. In terms of this, is there anyone who knows it better than me?" Connor said.

She looked around in embarrassment and said, "Keep it down. Is that all she said?"

"She had nothing else to say and just emphasized your background," Connor answered.

"She mentioned I was an orphan, right?" Annette was not surprised at it.

"What? Did she say it before?" Connor asked, a little confused.

  Annette nodded.

"How could she have such a misunderstanding? Didn't you tell Kyle about your identity?" Connor asked.

"Should I tell everyone that I was born outside wedlock?" Annette put on a self-mocking smile.

Connor smiled in satisfaction. If Fiona knew that Annette was the daughter of the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack, perhaps her attitude toward Annette would change. And Kyle would probably not lose Annette.

For him, it was a wonderful mistake.

"I told Fiona that I don't mind your background, and I will back you up," Connor said.

Annette was shocked by his words. She asked, "Do you love me?"

Connor looked at her and said, "Now, I admire you very much, but it's too soon to say I love you. You need to work harder on that."

"Connor, let me make myself clear. I witnessed how my mother struggled her entire life, so I won't date someone who doesn't love me. If possible, I hope you can give up on me. I don't want to be hurt," Annette said seriously.

A moment later, Connor said, "How do you know I will hurt you? Maybe I am your second chance."

Annette smiled. "I am not a suitable choice for you. I am a rogue and a hybrid."

  "Everything is possible."

However, Annette believed that they were not a good match.
