His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 208

Chapter 208

Connor raised his hand, while Annette took a step back.

"I am the second daughter of the Black Thorn Pack, and you are the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. With the irreconcilable hatred between the two packs, you and I were destined to separate."

Connor frowned and asked, "What exactly do you want to say?"

"You and I belong to different worlds. You made me lose my reasons, and I gradually believed that we could be together. I thought it was a gift from the Moon Goddess, but now, I am completely sober. Connor, I wouldn't have any unrealistic dreams anymore. I'm sorry. I won't let you use me again."

Annette gave the last lingering gaze at Connor, the one who had brought her the warmest feeling she had ever experienced. She couldn't forget him, nor would she indulge herself in his so-called love any longer.

"I used you? What are you talking about?" Connor couldn't understand Annette's words.

Annette didn't know how long he would deny it.

She only knew that she didn't want to be pestered by him.

"Connor, just pretend that we have never met each other," Annette said firmly.

"How could it be? Annette, I've told you before, whether you are a daughter of the Black Thorn Pack or not, you are my mate. You should live in the Blood Moon Pack, not the Black Thorn Pack."

Annette continued, "If you're not willing to separate from me now, I'll wait until one day when you fall for another woman. I'll be ready anytime."

She was about to walk past him.

  Her hands clenched into fists.

Connor grabbed her arm and shouted angrily, "I told you, we wouldn't be separated."

  Annette did not speak.

Connor asked, "Do you want our baby to grow up without its father? Why would you do that?"

Annette shook off his hand and said, "You did the wrong thing. Why are you coming to me for answers? When you make decisions as you please, has anyone ever asked for my opinion?"

Connor took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He said, "I know you are angry, and I am prepared to bear all your anger. Please don't take it out on our relationship, okay?"

"The only thing I want to give up is our relationship."

"What about our child? After the child was born, you didn't want it anymore?"

Annette didn't hesitate and said, "Of course, I want it."

"Do you think I would allow you to raise our child alone after we split up?"

Annette clenched her fists as Connor's words hit her sore points. She forced herself to remain calm and said, "You're the one who messed up everything. Do you still want to fight for custody of the child?"

"I am the baby's father, and I have the right to choose to live with it. If you do not want to separate from the child, do not break up with me."

Annette glared at Connor angrily. Her child was her only family in the world. Why did he want to take it away?

Connor knew that he had upset Annette again.

He grasped her arms and said earnestly, "Annette, you wouldn't want me to take the child away and have him call someone else 'mom', right? It's so much better if we're both around him. Don't you think so?"

Annette looked at Connor's gentle face and couldn't imagine that he was just humoring her for Alina.

She pushed him away and turned to walk down the hill.

Connor had always been a strong-willed man who wouldn't listen to women.

He strode forward and picked Annette up.

Annette exclaimed, "Connor, what are you doing? Put me down!"

"No way," Connor said defiantly. "If you are angry because I'm holding you, just imagine that I'm holding my child instead. It just happens that my child is inside your belly. Maybe that would make it easier for you to accept."

  "Connor!" Annette was so angry.

Connor laughed and said, "Shout as you please. Anyway, no one else is around."

  Annette rolled her eyes.

She turned her head away, avoiding any eye contact with him.

Connor put her in the car, and she didn't resist. After battling with him for so long, she had come to know him well.

Even if she said she wanted to get off, he wouldn't let her go.

As Connor's car drove back to the city, Annette said to Leonard, "Leonard, take me to my apartment."

Leonard glanced at Connor through the rearview mirror.

Connor remained silent, leaving Leonard in a dilemma. "Luna..."

"Leonard, please call me Ms. Hall."

Connor said, "Why bother Leonard? You should discuss it with me."

Annette turned her head and stared at him angrily, saying, "Are you trying to force me to jump off the car?"

"The car door was locked. You won't be able to open it," Connor said proudly.

However, at the thought of Annette's pregnancy, he asked Leonard to drive to the apartment.

  "OK, Alpha Connor."

Annette turned to look out the car window.

Connor asked, "You're not serious about living in the Black Thorn Pack, are you?"

  Annette kept silent.

"Annette?" Connor pulled her arm and turned her body, forcing her to face him.

Annette nodded. "I am serious. Do you think that I was just venting my anger in front of Sharon?"

"You can't go back," Connor refused firmly.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Norman. I can't follow your orders anymore. I am Lance's illegitimate daughter. Since my father asked me to go home, I had to."

"Annette, you can't go back to that horrible place just to spite me." Connor frowned.

Annette shook her head. "It is not safe to stay by your side. In my eyes, there's no difference between living with you and living in Black Thorn Pack."

Upon hearing these words, Connor felt both angry and helpless.

This time, he indeed did wrong.

"You said you went back to Black Thorn Pack to protect your mother. Did Lance threaten you with her?"

Annette turned to look at Connor and said, "Can I have a moment to calm down? I don't need your help right now."

Sitting in the driver's seat, Leonard regretted not having driven a camper van today.

When he heard Connor being scolded at such a close distance, his back was soaked with sweat.

The car stopped at the entrance of the apartment building.

Annette opened the car door and got out. Before closing the door, she said to Connor, "Everything I said just now stands. If you think it through, you can come to me at any time."

With that, she left without looking back.

Connor watched her back as she walked away and was somewhat puzzled.

Annette's current attitude was completely different from the one she had downstairs last night. He didn't know why.

Last night, he thought her heart had softened and she was afraid of being swayed, so she went downstairs to drive him away. But now, all he could feel was distance and indifference.

He thought he could solve the matter. However, he was not so certain now.

He wondered, 'Annette, what exactly happened to you?'

Connor, who had always been confident and even conceited, was swayed for the first time.
