His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 182

Chapter 182

On Saturday, Marcus opened his bar.

Connor insisted on bringing Annette along. She knew what he was thinking.

However, it was still quite difficult for her to face Lucas, who was still mad at her.

When they arrived at the bar, Lucas and Alina were already there.

Lucas' face turned sullen as he saw Annette.

Marcus quickly said, "Lucas, there's a very comfortable sofa over there. Why don't you go and have a rest?"

"You want me to excuse myself?" Lucas was very loud. He snapped angrily, "Why? Am I the one who has done something wrong?"

Marcus waved his hand and said, "That's not what I meant. It's all my fault. And I'm worried that you're tired."

Alina patted Marcus on the shoulder and said, "Marcus, go ahead. I'm sure you're very busy today."

Marcus stood behind Lucas, thanking Alina silently.

Alina said to Lucas, "Lucas, I know you are upset, but you know Connor. No one can change his decisions. What's the point of being mad at Marcus? It's not about Marcus now. It's about Connor and Ms. Hall, don't you think?"

Lucas controlled the wheelchair to come to Connor and Annette.

  Annette lowered her eyes.

Connor glanced at her, and he held her hand.

"Lucas, you are here early today."

"I thought you were a great match at first, but now I find the scene of you two standing together disturbing."

Connor smiled, "For the sake of your health, just pretend that you didn't see us."

Connor then said to Alina, "Take care of him. I'll take Ann around."

After he finished speaking, he pulled Annette away.

After the two walked far away, Annette whispered to Connor, "That was a bit uncalled for."

"I can compromise on certain things and let him have his way, but not this."

"He is simply looking out for you."

"The reason why I insist on bringing you here today is to tell him that I am serious about being together with you. Even if everyone is against it, I won't change my mind. No one can mess with you because you are my woman. Understand?"

Annette was deeply touched by his words.

He was the only one willing to give up everything for her.

Half an hour later, a group of boys from the school basketball team walked into the bar and cheered up the mood.

A group of students saw Annette and came over to greet her.

Someone couldn't help but ask curiously, "Annette, is your mate really Alpha Connor? What about Marcus then?"

When Connor heard that, he put his hand on Annette's shoulder.

"So? Am I not good enough for her?"

The student couldn't help but shiver.

Annette pushed Connor and said, "He was just curious. Don't freak him out, OK?"

Connor turned to look at Annette.

Annette quickly shifted her gaze away.

Connor grabbed her by the collar and locked her in his arms again.

"Don't you think I deserve some explanation?"

"It's all just their random guesses. There's nothing to explain about."

  "I'm jealous."

Annette was speechless. She couldn't believe that Connor was even jealous of Marcus.

The bar was busy, so food was served after eight o'clock.

Annette had to go to the bathroom halfway through the meal.

Connor wanted to go with her, but Annette stopped him.

Not many people here knew she was pregnant, and she didn't want to make it too obvious.

When Annette came out of the bathroom, she bumped into Lucas, who had also come to the bathroom.

When she saw the way Lucas looked at her, she felt a little regretful.

She should have asked Connor to come with her.

Lucas said to Alina, who was behind him, "Alina, go back."

Alina looked at Annette worriedly and said, "I'll go with you."

"I said, go back. Just do as I say. So? Am I not being clear enough?"

Alina stood behind Lucas, shaking her head at Annette.

  Annette smiled at Alina.

  Alina walked away.

Annette looked at Lucas and asked calmly, "What do you want to say?"

  Lucas looked at Annette coldly.

Annette's expression now seemed rather ironic to him.

"Annette, do you think that now that you're pregnant, you can control Connor however you want?"

Annette smiled. She said, "I guess you wouldn't believe me if I said otherwise."

"Indeed. You didn't come from a noble family, and in the past, I figured that since Connor liked you, I wouldn't stand in your way anyway. But ever since I found out that you were Lance's daughter, I felt sick whenever I thought of your face. You've been lying to us for so long. Do you think anyone will still believe you?" Lucas said with a disgusted tone.

Annette pursed her lips tightly. She said, "Then what's your point?"

"I stick to my guns. I'll never nod at you being together with Connor. If you still insist, then I don't mind letting Connor know what the consequences would be of betraying the Blood Moon Pack for a woman like you."

He looked at Annette's belly and said, "You are only allowed to stay in the Blood Moon Pack until you give birth. After the baby is born, you'd better leave at once. Otherwise..."

"Otherwise what?" Connor's voice came from the corner of the corridor suddenly.

Connor walked straight to Annette's side. He patted her on the shoulder and said, "Just go first."

Annette looked at him and did not move.

"I'll have a word with Lucas. I'll be right back."

  Annette walked away without hesitation.

Even if she stayed here, it was not going to change the fact that Lucas loathed her.

  Connor looked at Lucas.

Connor bent down and said in a voice that only the two men could hear, "Isn't it because of you that I met Annette? I am warning you, Lucas, that only I get to bully my woman. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you."

After saying that, he straightened up and said, "If you want to ruin my happiness, you'd better think carefully about whether you can hold on to yours first."

After that, Connor turned and left.

Lucas clenched his fists and thought, 'Connor, you asshole. You have lost your mind because of that woman.'

Annette returned to her seat, still a little uneasy.

Alina walked over and smiled at Annette, "Lucas didn't give you a hard time, did he?"

Annette looked at Alina and said nothing.

Alina said, "I told Connor as soon as I came back. He wasn't too late, was he?"

Annette quickly came back to her senses. She nodded at Alina and thanked her, "Thank you, Ms. Grace."

"Don't mention it. They are brothers, and I don't want them to hold a grudge against each other. Anyway, what's good for them is good for me."

Connor walked over. He stood behind Annette and said calmly, "I offered to go with you, and you insisted on pulling a stunt. Will you listen to me from now on?"

Annette turned back and glared at him.

Annette thought, 'I wouldn't have had to deal with this if you hadn't kept me in the Blood Moon Pack in the first place.'

"I'm a bit tired. I want to go back and get some rest."

Connor pulled Annette to his side and said, "I'll go with you."

Seeing that they were about to leave, Alina was a little disappointed. She asked, "Connor, are you leaving already?"

  "Yes. Annette needs to rest."

When Marcus saw that Annette and Connor were about to leave, he stood up and said, "Connor, are you and Annette leaving?"

Several male students at the table stood up.

Then Connor picked Annette up in front of everyone.

  Annette blushed.

She thought, 'I swear Connor is doing this on purpose.'
