His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 181

Chapter 181

Connor sat down and asked, "Dwayne told me that Alina came to you today. What did she say to you?"

"If you are curious, go ask your Alina. Why are you asking me?"

"My Alina?" He raised his hand and poked her between her eyebrows. He said complacently, "You can be very jealous, can't you?"

Annette slapped the bed angrily. She said, "Connor, get out."

Connor laughed out loud. He couldn't help but want to tease her whenever he saw her.

"Alright. I'll stop. What exactly did she say to you?"

She turned her back to him, not wanting to talk to him.

He whispered in her ear, "Tell me now, or I'll kiss you."

She turned around and glared at him.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You don't believe I'll do that?"

"How can you still say that while I'm already like this?"

"Kissing you won't affect the baby."

She took a deep breath and said, "She didn't say anything. She was here to see how I had been doing. Satisfied?"

"She didn't say anything unpleasant? Such as asking you to leave me?"

She snorted and said, "You wanted her here to do the talking?"

He poked her between her eyebrows again and said, "I was just afraid you'd get hurt, you silly girl."

He stood up and walked to the bathroom. "Ignore them, all you need to do is to trust me."

After classes were over in the afternoon, Marcus returned from school.

When he saw Connor and Annette, he felt a little guilty. "Annette, are you alright?"

Connor snorted coldly and said, "You've got the nerve to ask. Who is to blame?"

Annette pulled Connor's wrist as he was sitting by the bed and said to Marcus, "Ignore him. I'm fine. Is everything all right in our class?"

Marcus said, "That's not important. You should focus on yourself now."

Connor said, "Ann is passionate about her job. You should take charge of the class while she is away."

"Me?" Marcus said unhappily. "Connor, I don't think I can handle it."

"So, do you want Annette to handle it?"

Marcus said impatiently, "Fine! I will do it. Annette, did you hear that? Now that Connor has given his order. So, just rest. I'll keep an eye on the class."

After saying that, he seemed to think of something and said, "By the way, Connor, my bar is opening next Saturday, and I already told Lucas before I went out partying. If you and Annette show up, you'll see Lucas. So, I guess I shouldn't invite you, right?"

Connor said calmly, "Why wouldn't I go to the opening of the bar I invested in?"

Annette quickly said, "I won't go."

"Why not? You've done nothing wrong. Are you going to hide from him forever?

Connor looked at Marcus and asked, "Is there anything else?"

  "No."

Connor grabbed the apple on the table, threw it at Marcus, and said, "Get lost."

Marcus caught the apple and left with a laugh.

  Annette looked at Connor.

Meanwhile, he was looking at her.

He raised the corner of his mouth and asked, "What do you want to say to me?"

She lay down and said, "Who said I was going to say anything? I've got nothing to say."

She closed her eyes and pretended to rest.

After lying in bed for a week, Annette felt a lot better.

On Tuesday, she got up early and cleaned up briefly.

She got changed. Connor looked at her and asked, "Where are you going?"

"I'm tired of lying around all day long. I want to go back to school."

  "No."

When Connor saw her dissatisfied eyes, he couldn't help but grin.

"How about this? I'll take you out to do something today. How does that sound?"

"What are we going to do?"

He smiled slyly and said, "You'll know."

It was the first time she had come down to eat in a week, and he carried her down.

After the meal, Connor carried her into the car.

Leonard drove to the Blood Moon Pack's training ground.

Connor got out of the car and went around to her side to open the door for her. He was about to bend over to pick her up when she held down his hand.

She asked warily, "Connor, why did you bring me here?"

  "What do you think?"

"I'm not going." She shook her head firmly and cringed.

He reached out to her and said, "Come out."

  She shook her head. "No."

"Annette, stop stalling. No matter what, you will always be my mate and I'll let the pack know that you are their Luna."

  Annette still did not move.

Connor was a bit mad. He stooped into the car and put his arms around her.

Annette was very uneasy. She panicked and said, "Connor, I have my considerations. What if one day you have to choose between me and your family? Are you sure you won't be in a quandary?

Connor had already carried her out. He said firmly, "You just need to remember one thing. You'll never choose to leave you behind."

Annette looked at Connor, who was holding her. Her mindset changed a long time ago.

She was not afraid of being abandoned. She was simply afraid that he would be in a dilemma because of her.

Annette stopped struggling. If one day Connor had to make a choice, she would not make it difficult for him.

Coming out of the training ground, Connor carried her back to the car.

He had just announced in front of all the members that Annette was his mate.

Leonard smiled and said, "Alpha Connor, Luna Annette, congratulations."

Connor was happy from ear to ear. Seeing him like that, she suddenly felt her heart very warm.

"I want to discuss something with you."

  Connor asked, "What is it?"

Annette said, "Promise me you won't get angry."

"You'd better not tell me then."

  "You..."

Seeing that she was angry, he smiled and said, "Tell me."

"Let's not go public with our relationship for now."

"What? Are you embarrassed to be with me?"

"That's not what I meant," she said, scratching her face uneasily. "Lucas just found out I'm Lance's daughter, and he is mad. If we tell him now that we're mates, he's going to be furious."

"Why should I give a damn about how he feels?"

She frowned and said, "It's supposed to be a joyful thing. Why should everyone be unhappy, just because someone is against it?"

Connor looked at her and said helplessly, "Won't you feel unfair?"

Though saying that, Connor took Annette's advice anyway.

"Leonard, keep it to yourself after we get back."

  "Yes, Alpha Connor."

  Connor was a bit frustrated.

After returning home, other than lying on the bed, sitting, eating, and drinking every day, the only thing Annette was allowed to do was lie on the balcony under the sunshine and read.

For five days in a row, the only time she got out of her room was being carried to the courtyard by Connor on Wednesday afternoon to bask in the sun for a while and had afternoon tea.

She was very angry, but she could not vent her anger.

Once she said something, he always had a long speech to persuade her.

  Connor was controlling.
