His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 158

Chapter 158

Connor sighed. He was silent for a while before saying, "Okay, I allow you to open a bar, but if you dare to mess around, I will take it back."

"I won't." Marcus smiled in surprise. He said, "Connor, I will not let you regret it."

Connor continued, "I will get Hari to deal with it. Go back to class first."

Marcus was overjoyed. He thought, 'I know that Connor will do anything for Annette.

  Annette is invincible!

Annette is my favorite person in the world!'

When Marcus walked to the door, Connor suddenly said, "Wait a minute."

Marcus asked in confusion, "Connor, are you going back on your word?"

"Keep your distance from Annette. Don't make others get the wrong idea of you two." Connor glared at him.

"You asked me to look after Annette, and you can't blame me for this. Moreover, I have no control over the rumors." Marcus felt wronged.

"You should reflect on yourself. Why do others only say that you are with Annette? Why don't they say that you are with other girls? Annette is different from you. If she is hurt because of you, I will punish you."

  Marcus was speechless.

Because of the rumors at school, Annette and Marcus kept a distance from each other on purpose.

Annette had clarified that she and Marcus were only teachers and students, but the rumors were still there.

What was worse, there was even new "evidence".

Many photos were posted on the school forum.

Including the photos of Annette and Kyle sitting back to back on the lawn reading books, her eating with Austin, and her meeting with Zachary at the school gate.

There were also photos of her talking to the parents of her students before she graduated.

Obviously, someone was following Annette. Otherwise, the person wouldn't take so many pictures with ulterior motives.

The person even used dirty words to describe the photos and slandered Annette for being promiscuous. He even exposed the background information of Austin, Zachary, Marcus, and the parents of Annette's students.

In the office, Annette was reading the news on the forum, and her face darkened.

Alanna couldn't help but gossip, "Annette, do you know who is slandering you?"

Sara glared at Alanna. "Alanna, we're colleagues. Don't talk nonsense."

"Sara, don't be angry. I'm just worried about Annette," Alanna said in a low voice.

"You're not worried about Annette. I think you just want to watch a good show."

"I don't..." Alanna wanted to explain.

"Alright, Alanna. I know you are curious," Annette interrupted her. "I don't know what to say about these photos. I do know all the men in them, but other than Kyle, they are just my ordinary friends. The person took the photos secretly and is targeting me deliberately. It is fine if he is just against me, but he has also exposed others' information maliciously."

Sara frowned. "Annette, how are you going to deal with it?"

As Annette's colleague, Alanna was naturally on Annette's side. She suggested, "Why don't we ask Darren to delete all these photos?"

Eden said, "That won't help. Most of the students have seen these photos. If the photos were deleted, they would think that the rumors about Annette were true."

Everyone thought that Eden was right. What else could they do?

Annette thought about it and took her phone to dial a number.

"Hello, I want to call the police. I was slandered at the campus forum. The person even leaked the privacy of my friends."

Eden and the others all looked at Annette in surprise.

Annette was calm. She would not tolerate the person who bullied her randomly.

Alanna said in surprise, "Annette, why did you call the police? This way, more people will see the photos."

"Eden is right. We can't delete those photos rashly. I asked the police to investigate it because I had nothing to hide. I want the person to bear the legal responsibility she deserves. There is nothing bad about it."

Sara gave her a thumbs up.

Half an hour later, the police arrived.

After they learned about the details of the situation, they began to investigate.

Connor just received a call from Marcus.

He was gratified to hear that Annette had called the police decisively.

He did not call Annette but sent two Internet experts to assist the police in solving the case.

Because of the police intervention, more and more students were discussing the rumors in the school.

In the afternoon, Darren called Annette to his office.

At first, he thought that Annette and Marcus were a couple, and he could not afford to offend them.

However, at the celebration a few days ago, he saw Connor's attitude toward Annette and Marcus. It seemed that Connor did not support them.

Therefore, Darren said solemnly, "Annette, do you know why I asked you here?"

Annette shook her head and said, "I don't know."

"Today, rumors about you are so widely spreading in school. Don't you think you should stand out and solve it?"

  "I'm trying to solve it."

"I heard that you called the police. Do you think there is not enough negative news? Werewolf University called the police because of the scandal involving a student instructor. What will others think if they hear of it?"

"Mr. Crace," Annette interrupted Darren. "You are the president, and I hope that you can speak fairly. I am the victim here."

"A victim? Were those pictures faked by someone?"

"No, they were all real. Darren, did you never speak to the opposite sex? Among those photos, which one can prove that I have an improper relationship with a man?"

"Annette!" Darren slammed the table angrily. "How dare you talk to me like that? I'm the president."

"I know. Because you're the president, I hope you can be fair and just."

Darren looked at the determined Annette and was a little angry. "You have to admit that the reputation of the school has been damaged because of you."

"You can't blame me for that. The person who made the rumors should take responsibility. I have no obligation to take the blame for the person who has done something wrong," Annette retorted.

"Good. It seems that you have not realized your mistake at all. Annette, don't think that you can do whatever you want with Marcus here. Apologize publicly and explain that it is your personal behavior and has nothing to do with the school. If you don't want to, then just quit your job."
