His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 154

Chapter 154

At that moment, Connor's car drove over.

Leonard put away his phone and closed the door. He walked to the car and greeted Connor. "Alpha Connor, you're back."

Connor responded. Just as he was about to go upstairs, Leonard said, "Alpha Connor, Ms. Hall left this bag in the car."

Connor saw the clothes in the bag.

He raised his eyebrows and took out the clothes, smiling.

  Then, he walked upstairs briskly.

Annette happened to go out of the bedroom after changing clothes.

She frowned the moment she saw the bag in Connor's hand. She asked, "How did you get it?"

Connor smiled, "Since you wanted to give me a gift, why did you leave it in the car?"

He shook the bag and said proudly, "I saw it just now. I like the style."

He put the bag aside and took out the clothes. "I will try them on."

"I changed my mind, and you can't have them." Annette rushed forward to snatch the bag.

Connor raised his eyebrows and said, "Who provoked you?"

"No one provoked me. Give it back to me. I will go return it tomorrow."

Connor tore off the sign immediately. "You can't return it now. The clothes are mine."

"I won't give them to you even if you tear off the price tag."

  "Why?"

Annette said with a depressed face, "The clothes you bought for Ms. Grace are worth more than a hundred thousand dollars, yet I still dared to give you clothes worth hundreds of dollars. I think it's too embarrassing."

"Ms. Grace?" Connor wondered, "Do you mean that I bought clothes for Alina?"

Annette glared at him while Connor looked at her innocently.

"When did I buy clothes for Alina?" Connor said calmly.

"Last weekend, I went to a clothing store with Ms. Grace. She took a fancy to a coat, but the clerk said that it had been reserved by you for your beloved woman. Today, the coat is on Ms. Grace. You still dared to say that you didn't give it to her," Annette suppressed her anger and said.

  "It was indeed not me."

Annette bit her lips and thought Connor wanted to quibble and lie to her again.

"You don't believe me? Tell me the address of the clothing store. I'll call and ask about it in person."

  Annette told him the address.

  Connor dialed the number.

He pressed the hand-free button and asked, "Did Alpha Connor buy clothes in your shop last weekend?"

"Alpha Connor did not. Lucas bought a coat here for his beloved woman."

Connor hung up the phone and looked at Annette.

  Annette felt guilty.

Connor put the phone back into his pocket. "Although I'm glad to see you jealous because of me, you have to figure out the truth before it. Do you understand?"

  Annette blushed and felt embarrassed.

  "Can I try it now?"

Annette pouted and said, "Don't try it. You won't wear such cheap clothes out."

"Who told you that? I'll wear it and go to work tomorrow."

After that, Connor went into the room to change his clothes. Then, he turned around in front of Annette.

"How is it?" Connor looked at her proudly.

Annette held back her laughter and said, "I'm going to cook."

"Give me a compliment before you go." Connor stopped her.

Annette glared at him. "You look smart in the suit. You have a perfect figure, and any clothes will look good on you."

  "That's more like it."

Annette was going to the kitchen. Connor suddenly thought of something and asked, "By the way, have you seen Alina today?"

  Annette nodded.

"Did she say anything to you?" Connor frowned.

"She told me some things, but I don't know if I should tell you."

"We're in a relationship. It doesn't matter. Now, tell me." Connor was worried that Alina would say something unpleasant to Annette.

"It's nothing. She just complained to me." Annette paused and then continued, "Lucas is going to be a father."

  Connor asked, "Is she pregnant?"

Annette nodded. "But she doesn't seem to want to give birth to this child."

  Connor was puzzled. "Why?"

"She said she was worried that the child would be ridiculed by others because of Lucas."

  Connor frowned. "Nonsense."

Annette shrugged. "She was afraid that you would criticize her, so she didn't tell you about it. It's up to you. I'm going to cook."

Annette went into the kitchen. Connor took out his phone and called Alina.

As soon as Alina answered the phone, Connor said, "Pack your things and ask Dwayne to send you home now."

  "Connor?"

"You don't have to say anything. I don't want to hear it. Dwayne has no experience of taking care of a pregnant woman. Go back to Lucas right now. Dwayne will arrange for someone to take care of you. Don't think of giving up the child," Connor said directly.

Alina said angrily, "I didn't expect Ms. Hall to be so gossipy. How could she tell others about my secret?"

"I am her mate. We won't hide anything from each other. If you tell her, it means that I will know it too." Connor didn't like others to speak ill of Annette.

Alina was unwilling to give up. "It is my business. You have no right to decide it for me."

"The child in your belly belongs to the Norman family. Alina, I don't care what you think. You just need to remember one thing. How did Lucas get crippled? Since you enjoy the luxurious life he provided you, you should think for him as well."

"Connor, you are humiliating me." Alina was so angry that her face turned red.

  "I'm telling the truth."

"I will give birth if I'm carrying your child!" Alina shouted angrily. "That's right. He saved my life, but without him, I would have married you long ago and should have been pregnant with your child now. Connor, do you know how sad I was when I found out that I was pregnant? I'd rather die! However, in the blink of an eye, you fall in love with someone else. When I was in so much pain, you humiliated me like this."

Connor sighed. "Have you ever thought about the child in your belly? His mother wants to give him up, and he must be in more pain than you. It is not a bargaining chip for you. Don't be so selfish."

"I don't want to be like this. I also feel sad." Alina began to cry. "If I were cold-blooded, I would have gone to have an abortion and wouldn't have hesitated for so long. Connor, you disappoint me. Go ahead, enjoy your happy life with Ms. Hall. I hope that you will never remember what you said to me in the past." Alina hung up the phone.

Connor was silent. He walked to the window and looked out. No one knew what he was thinking.
