His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 155

Chapter 155

A few minutes later, Connor received the mink link from Dwayne.

Dwayne reported, "Alpha Connor. Ms. Grace left crying just now. No matter how hard I tried to persuade her, she refused to stay."

"Call Leonard and ask him to send her back to Lucas."

"But Ms. Grace insists on leaving on her own."

"Get several pack guards to escort her. I will ask Lucas to pick her up."

  "Okay, Alpha Connor."

After talking to Dwayne, Connor contacted Lucas.

"Lucas, I know about Alina's pregnancy. The child in her belly is also yours. She has to give birth to it, and you don't have to give in."

  "She told you?"

"She didn't tell me. She told Ann, and Ann told me."

"She is determined," Lucas said worriedly.

"She doesn't dare to make a decision, and you can't always indulge her. You want a child, don't you? No matter what happens, she has to give birth to this child." Connor's attitude was firm.

  "Connor, do you hate me?"

"What are you talking about? That's all in the past. You have to cherish each other. Now, I also have a mate, and I am happy. Lucas, go pick up Alina. You should discuss it with her properly."

"You are right. We need to talk." Lucas agreed.

Connor ended the mink link with Lucas. He stood by the window and lit a cigarette.

As soon as he put his cigarette to his lips, the kitchen door opened.

Annette poked her head out. "Connor, what do you want to have for dinner?"

Annette frowned when she saw Connor smoking. She walked out of the kitchen and stood in front of him. She snatched the cigarette and threw it into the corner.

There was displeasure in her eyes.

  "What's wrong?" Connor was puzzled.

"I know that Alina's pregnancy upset you. Since things have happened, you don't have to numb yourself in this way," Annette reprimanded him.

  "What do you mean?"

Annette pointed to the cigarette butt on the ground. "In the late stage of depression, my mom needed three or four packs of cigarettes every day. She said that smoking could help her forget the pain for the time being. When I see others smoking, I always think of my mom's listless face. I hate people smoking the most. So, if you want to smoke, do it somewhere else."

  Annette looked at Connor fiercely.

  Connor smiled at her lovingly.

He reached out to rub her head. "I didn't smoke."

Annette frowned and looked down at the cigarette on the ground.

Only three-fourths of it were left.

Connor followed her gaze and couldn't help but smile. "I did light the cigarette, but I didn't smoke it."

Annette glared at him and turned to return to the kitchen.

Connor grabbed her wrist and said, "You are so easily angry. I promise you that I won't smoke in front of you."

Annette said, "I am not angry. The water is boiling on the stove."

Connor smiled and followed her into the kitchen.

The next day, Connor went to work wearing the suit Annette bought for him.

As the president of such a big company, he didn't seem to care about whether he would be ridiculed for dressing like this.

Annette entered the office and threw her bag into the drawer.

  Alanna was gossiping.

Seeing Annette, Alanna pulled her and said, "Annette, I heard that a student in your class is related to the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack."

Annette looked at Alanna and recalled that Marcus had been "betrayed" by Connor on Friday.

She rubbed her nose in embarrassment. "Does everyone know about it at school?"

"Of course. By the way, someone said that you are close to Marcus. Is it true?" Alanna asked nosily.

Sara spat out a mouthful of honey water.

Alanna asked, "Sara, are you alright?"

  Sara waved her hand.

Annette smiled speechlessly. "Alanna, don't listen to their nonsense. Marcus is my student. I treat all my students equally well. Besides, I will never be in a teacher-student relationship."

"Annette, you are not lying to us, aren't you? I also think that you have a good relationship with Marcus. How close was he to you on the basketball court at that time." Alanna did not believe it.

Annette didn't know what to say. "I am his student instructor. It is reasonable for him to come to me when the game is suspended."

Sara nodded. "Alanna, don't listen to people's gossip."

Alanna smiled. Was she overthinking it?

In the evening, because Alina had moved away, Connor took Annette back to the villa.

If she lived in the apartment, she had to cook. Connor didn't want her to be so tired.

On Thursday afternoon, the last match of the basketball game was held.

Perhaps because he was motivated, Marcus was playing well.

In the end, he led the school basketball team to win this year's championship.

Looking at Marcus holding the trophy, Annette revealed a motherly smile.

On the way back to school, Marcus sat next to Annette and said proudly, "How is it? Am I awesome?"

Annette glanced at him. "Sit tight. Keep a distance from me."

  "Will you keep your promise?"

  "What promise?"

"I knew you had forgotten about it. Didn't you promise me that you would help me with one thing as long as I became the MVP this time? You forgot it so soon." Marcus was anxious.

Annette smiled resignedly. "I didn't forget it. Let's talk about it after we get home. In public, you should keep your distance from me."

Marcus couldn't help but laugh. "Annette, have you heard the rumors too?"

Annette said, "You heard it too? Why do you still dare to sit next to me?"

"If we keep our distance because of the rumors, it will prove that we have a guilty conscience. To protect you, Connor caused such big trouble for me," Marcus complained.

Annette chuckled. Marcus' words made sense.

"Stop complaining. Tell me, what do you want me to help you with?"

"I want to open a bar," Marcus' eyes were full of determination.

"A bar? If you tell Connor directly, will he disagree?" Annette asked.

"Yes. I do that not for profit but for fun. I may disgrace the Blood Moon Pack."

Annette was a little confused. "Why do you have to open a bar?"

  "I have my reasons."

Annette thought for a moment and then nodded. "Alright, I will mention it to Connor. But I am not sure whether he would agree or not."

"You will convince Connor. If you can't, no one else can." Marcus was happy because Annette promised to help him.

Annette was speechless. She thought Connor was easy to talk to and not that unreasonable.
