His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 147

Chapter 147

Annette was glad that Connor answered Alina like that. In such a way, she didn't have to tell Alina if she wanted to take Alina in.

Annette thought, 'It's true that I'm not the hostess here. However, I've lived here for a long time now, and if there's another woman here, it would be so weird. What's more, Connor used to have a crush on her.

However, if she lives in her own villa, then I guess it's fine.'

Alina was a little disappointed. She said, "I can make my own decisions. I don't need him to do that."

"It's not up to you. I don't want to annoy Lucas because of this."

Alina insisted, "I won't go back anyway. If you don't take me in, I'll stay at a hotel."

Connor looked at her and asked, "What has Lucas done to you?"

"Stop asking. You know that I am not an unreasonable person. I am in a bad mood right now, and I really need to calm down."

Connor looked at Dwayne. "Send someone to Lucas' villa to sort out their bedroom."

"Yes, Alpha Connor. I'll do it right away."

Alina was a little displeased. "I don't want to live alone in such an empty house."

  Annette did not say anything.

She realized what Alina meant, and she was certain that Connor did, too.

"Then ask Marcus if he is OK with you staying over there. If he says no, then I'm afraid that you have to live on your own or go home. You will be embarrassed to live here. After all, you know how things go between men and women, right? You are quarreling with Lucas. But I shouldn't be the one who gets punished. I have no intention of staying vigilant while making out with my girlfriend at night because you are here."

Annette reached out and patted his arm. She said, "What are you talking about?"

"The truth. I am saying this to save her from embarrassment. I'm being reasonable here," Connor said righteously.

After they finished, Alina said, "Connor, you got me wrong. I meant to ask if Ms. Hall could stay with me."

"No. I'm used to having someone sleeping next to me. If you take her away, I won't be able to sleep," Connor said, taking a bite of fruit.

Alina lowered her head, and she was even more upset.

She thought, 'Connor has really changed.

In the past, to piss me off, Connor would sometimes show up in front of me with other women, saying sweet things to them on purpose.

But at that time, there was no emotion in his eyes when he looked at them.

I knew him, so I could see through him back then.

But now, his eyes are glowing as he looks at Annette.

That's what scares me the most.

Connor is no longer the man who tortured himself in exchange for my happiness.

I have lost him forever. Why am I in so much pain?'

After the meal, Connor asked Dwayne to send Alina back to the villa next door.

Meanwhile, Dwayne arranged two Omegas from the Blood Moon Pack to take care of her daily life for the following days.

After Alina left, Connor called Lucas.

  "Lucas, have you eaten yet?"

"Yes. Are you going to tell me that Alina has gone back?"

"Yes. Is there something going on between you two?"

  "She didn't tell you?"

"No. She just said she wanted to stay here for a few days, and if we didn't take her in, she would go to a hotel. I figured that you might be worried if we let her stay in a hotel, so I had Dwayne clean up your villa. She is staying there for now."

  Lucas muttered, "That's fine."

Connor was a little surprised when he heard Lucas' words and asked, "Aren't you going to pick her up?"

"I think she wants to be alone for now. Let her stay there for a week. I'll pick her up in a few days. Make sure Dwayne keeps an eye on her and doesn't let her skip any meals."

Connor frowned. He thought, 'Really? Lucas is OK with Alina being here alone?'

  Connor nodded and said, "Alright."

After hanging up the phone, he went upstairs.

When he entered the room, Annette was taking a shower in the bathroom.

Connor smiled meaningfully and went to the bathroom next door to take a shower.

When he returned, Annette was sitting in front of the dressing mirror in her pajamas and drying her hair.

When she saw him, she blushed slightly.

After all, they were the only two in the bedroom, and naturally, she recalled what they had been doing when they were interrupted.

From the mirror, she watched him approach her step by step.

Just as she was about to stand up, he had already pressed her shoulders and taken the hairdryer from her hand.

"I've never blown hair for anyone before."

She reached out to take the hairdryer from his hand.

  "I can do it myself."

"When I am here, my hands will be yours," he stared at her in the mirror and said with a smile. "You're welcome."

He dried her hair and then turned off the hairdryer.

  The room instantly became quiet.

He hugged her from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and looked at them in the mirror.

He picked her up and said, "Let's pick up where we left off."

She put her hands over his shoulders and said, "Wait a minute."

  "Invalid objection."

"Still, no." She looked at him, her eyes resolute.

She had let her lust get the better of her back then, but now she had come back to her senses.

Connor frowned. He felt a little depressed and said, "Things between Alina and I are over. Don't tell me that you are jealous of her."

Annette thought for a moment and said, "There are things..."

She thought, 'How can I tell him how I feel at this moment?

I can't forget the look in his eyes when he heard Alina's name. I'm so worried that he isn't treating me wholeheartedly.

I want every bit of his love.

My fear of the past has made it impossible for me to tolerate a third wheel in my relationship.'

"I don't think I'm ready yet. I want to give myself some more time to deal with my emotions."

Connor sighed. He put her down.
