Chapter 232 – Conquering King’s Landing 03.

[Chapter Size: 2700 Words.]

Third Person POV.

King's Landing.

...

...

In the improvised throne room since they had lost the Iron Throne, Tommen was seated, the crown upon his head. His coronation as the new King of Westeros had been very swift over the past week, as a letter had been sent to all the kingdoms: Joffrey had 'died', and his younger brother would take his place as Tommen Baratheon, the First of His Name.

Cersei stood near the throne, beside her father and several ladies and lords, discussing a plan to leave the place unharmed. The situation in King's Landing was not good for them at all, with riots erupting within the city, even among the very people against them.

"We must leave the city, father! There are secret chambers in the Red Keep that can take us out of here, to the sea!", Cersei practically begged Tywin, who merely responded with a growl.

"I have already told you, foolish woman. If I am to die like a coward, I would rather face it head-on. I do not want the end of my life to be spent fleeing."

"So that is it? We are all going to die?", she screamed hysterically.

"You speak as if we could escape. Your brother Jaime escaped on a ship without anyone knowing, but now look where he is. Do you expect the same?", he replied coldly, as she pressed her lips together.

"And the gates, my lord? They are being pressured by the people of King's Landing!! We will be torn apart before the enemies even arrive!", the Master stammered, trembling.

Tommen was shaking on his throne. His mother looked at him with concern.

She wanted at least to save him. Her eyes kept drifting toward the door, then someone came running from somewhere, bringing a message that would completely change her mood, the message said that everything had already been positioned by Qyburn.

'They did it!' She said internally, after all it had been a last-minute plan.

That made her look at her father before sketching a smile. Cersei suddenly burst into laughter, making Tywin look at her as if asking whether she had lost her sanity under the pressure they were facing.

"What is so amusing?", he said. She had been screaming like a madwoman just a moment ago.

"I was different from you, father. I thought about how to truly deal with our enemies. The one who will save this family tonight will be me, not you", she said suddenly, with a tone of triumph, despite the insane look on her face, shaped after months without feeling any pleasure.

"What are you talking about?", Tywin asked, not taking his eyes off his daughter.

"While you were trying to create a failed attack, I made mine. And guess what? Soon you will know that all our enemies — even the one who killed my brother and members of our family — will be dead."

"Cersei, have you gone mad?", Tywin roared in the middle of the hall.

Everyone stopped to hear what she would say, while she reveled in the situation. Suddenly, her frustration transformed into a strange joy.

"I placed wildfire beneath the city, near the castle. There are men down there ready to set it ablaze. As soon as the enemy army passes through the marked locations, they will activate it, and everyone will be pulverized by the green flames. While you were trying to devise a useless strategy, father, I was creating something that can destroy the enemy. I beat you this time, father. You are not as intelligent as you think." Cersei made a point of repeating the words her father had said to her a few moons ago.

Tywin frowned as he looked at his daughter. It was insane, yet at the same time, it could work, could it not? Even if they were to die, at least they would take part of the enemy army with them. Their victory would not come without cost, and that would be recorded in history: that the lion fought until the end and, even as he fell, still delivered a great blow to the enemy. So he thought.

What came next, however, was not what he expected.

In the next moment, his thought of a small triumph was replaced by pure shock. The door of the throne room simply exploded, bursting open with a thunderous crash, as if lightning had struck there.

Daemon's Thu'um roared, shattering the entrance. The guards were hurled inward with their bones broken from the impact, along with the massive door, which flew toward the throne, crushing even some nobles beneath its weight.

"Look at what we have here… a family discussion." Daemon's deep voice echoed through the hall as he walked calmly across the room, forming a faint smile.

The entire Lannister family froze in place. Even Cersei, who had been excited moments before, lost her composure. She had not imagined that Daemon would arrive so soon, at the heart of the castle.

"You were pleased with that plan, let me tell you something... I already knew everything. I found out about Jaime Lannister's escape. Why would I not also discover the wildfire? I gave instructions for my troops not to pass through any region where you placed it. You may even detonate it, but the effect will be minimal. The only thing you might accomplish is damaging my army with debris created by the explosion and falling everywhere. But that is nothing compared to what you were planning, is it?", Daemon mocked.

"You were wrong again, Cersei." He pronounced each word slowly.

There was so much hatred in her gaze as she heard and saw this man before her. The man who had turned her life into a complete void was right there, in front of her. Hatred had consumed her over these past months. She thought, repeatedly, of any way to make him suffer. She wanted that more than anything. She would give her own life without hesitation if it meant hurting him.

"My… such hatred." Daemon noticed her look, but his eyes soon shifted to Tywin, ignoring Cersei as if she meant nothing.

Tommen, on the throne, began to tremble, nearly crying. Around him, the nobles shrank back in fear. The man who had been causing all the chaos in Westeros over the past two years was there, walking among them as if he already owned the place.

And, in a way, he already did. He was Daemon Targaryen.

"Sorcerer! You will receive the wrath of the Seven for everything you have done!", Pycelle shouted, suddenly raising his voice.

Daemon merely turned his gaze toward him. He raised his hand.

The old man let out a groan as he began to float into the air, being violently thrown against a nearby pillar. His head struck hard, and he fell unconscious to the floor.

A chorus of frightened screams echoed through the hall as everyone retreated even further.

"Well, now that I am here," Daemon said, beginning to advance.

Tywin stood right in front of him, along with Cersei and the Kingsguard, but Daemon did not even care. He simply walked past them, with not even the guards daring to attack him like that, while the Lannisters stared at him with hatred — at least those two did, for Lancel, who stood among the crowd of nobles, and Tommen trembled in fear.

Daemon approached where Tommen stood.

"Leave." His words made Cersei step back before she could throw herself at him to protect her son. Tommen ran toward her, crying.

Daemon grabbed the provisional chair — merely a simple iron throne, a cheap imitation of the true Iron Throne that he already had in his possession.

Daemon had collected the thrones: the Iron Throne first, the Throne of Winter, the Seastone Chair, the Throne of the Riverlands, where he made a point of tearing the seat away right under Lord Tully's nose. The Golden Throne had been the last in Casterly Rock. Still remaining were the throne of the Stormlands, that of Highgarden, and that of Dorne. He would collect each one of them to represent his conquest over Westeros.

But for now, his attention was on only one throne — the first he had collected for his collection.

After hurling the provisional chair away with telekinesis, while the nobles watched paralyzed and terrified, Daemon made the enormous Iron Throne fall into the place of the former seat, crashing against the floor with a metallic thunder.

The Iron Throne finally returned to its place.

The last time he had been in that hall, Daemon had replaced it with a chamber pot merely to mock Joffrey on the day of his coronation.

Now, the true throne stood firm. Daemon adjusted it with a slight movement of telekinesis before simply sitting down, facing the crowd. Some were already fleeing through the broken door.

"Well… now we begin." In the next moment, all the Lannisters felt a crushing pressure. Even the Kingsguard, who had not dared to attack Daemon, were suddenly forced downward.

It was as if something invisible were pushing them against the floor.

All of them began to fall, compelled to kneel under the immense pressure of Daemon's telekinesis.

"That is better," he mocked, seeing everyone he wanted on their knees, kneeling.

Tywin roared in rage, trying to glare at him, but Daemon merely found it amusing and let him savor his own fury. Even Cersei looked at him with hatred, while Tommen and Lancel cried, trying not to smash their faces directly against the floor.

Daemon ceased the pressure for a moment.

He raised his hand and retrieved something from his inventory. Kevan's head.

He tossed it at Tywin's feet.

"Here is your brother. And with that, you are the last of your generation. At least Gerion was never found," Daemon said calmly.

Lancel saw it and began to tremble and cry like a child. His father, dead like Aunt Genna.

Tommen cried as well.

Tywin continued to glare at him with hatred, but also with the recognition of defeat. He had encountered a monster far more dangerous than he could ever have endured. Deep down, he knew he had allowed him to grow, and now his family was being destroyed... If he had imagined what he would become, he would have used every force to kill Jon Snow when he was still just a boy in Winterfell — and not the monster who now destroyed his entire family out of vengeance.

Daemon merely enjoyed it, not feeling offended in the slightest. He looked at the two children as more people gradually left the hall. He focused on those who were no longer necessary at the moment.

"I want you to leave. Leave only us here in peace," Daemon demanded.

It did not take long for all the remaining nobles to run through the main door, leaving the throne room with only the Lannisters and Daemon seated upon the Iron Throne.

"Excellent… now we are more comfortable," he mocked.

First, he looked at the two children. Lancel and Tommen were nothing but cowards terrified of death.

Daemon simply lifted both of them with telekinesis and made their heads collide against one another, causing them to faint instantly.

"You bastard!", Cersei roared.

In the next instant, a pressure hurled her violently against the ground, making her slam her own forehead as she screamed in pain. The pressure increased even more. She seemed to be crushed against the cold marble, feeling her bones nearly break as she groaned between hatred, fear, and agony.

"You should not speak that way to the man who holds your life," Daemon said calmly.

Cersei could barely respond, feeling as if she would die right there, her skull on the verge of bursting along with the rest of her bones.

The few members of the Kingsguard who were still there had their necks broken within seconds. Daemon did not even need to rise. He simply remained seated upon the throne, like a god observing everything in silence.

Then, ignoring Cersei, he turned his gaze back to Tywin.

"You know I expected more than this. But seeing you now, I will not have to do anything beyond killing you. You will not have an honorable death as Kevan had while fighting me. In any case, let us end this."

Before Tywin could respond, his head was slammed violently against the floor, and he lost consciousness.

Daemon stood up. He lifted Tywin with telekinesis, suspending him nearly ten meters high, close to the ceiling. Chains began to form, fastening themselves to the chandeliers as they coiled around Tywin's body, keeping him suspended, as if he were crucified right there.

"I will deal with you later. I would even prolong things, but first let us finish with the wildfire."

He spoke as Cersei felt her body begin to rise against her own will. She was pulled, stretched in the air before Daemon, unable to react.

"You know, I do not intend to kill your son. He may have a place in the Night's Watch, but only if you cooperate. Otherwise, I will do the same I did to Genna when I tried to make a deal with her and she decided to attempt to assassinate me. You will come with me to every location where the wildfire is stored. I will take you and your son with me. You will stop any idiot who tries to ignite it. Otherwise, I will make you watch your son be consumed before your eyes. And believe me, even if the wildfire explodes, I have ways to survive. What I want is merely to save part of my army. If you cooperate, I will spare your son."

"Go to the seven hells! You only use sorcery, you monster!", Cersei screamed.

Daemon opened a smile as he looked at Tommen's body lying beside Lancel. In the next instant, he began to rise into the air. An invisible force tightened around his throat, gradually increasing the pressure. Tommen began to struggle, his face turning red even while unconscious, his body trembling until it nearly convulsed.

"Stop! Stop, please!", Cersei pleaded as soon as she saw it, her expression changing, he was serious. She had no choice as she immediately realized her son could die. "I will cooperate! Do not kill him!"

"As expected of a mother who loves her children. Which I suppose, coming from you… ended up ruining your own spoiled little brats.", Daemon replied coldly.

Despite her hatred, Cersei had to keep her voice controlled so as not to worsen the situation.

"And Joffrey? Will you send Joffrey to the Wall as well?", she asked, trying to impose a condition.

"Obviously not. Joffrey will be publicly executed. I know he is in the dungeons. If you do not think it is fair, that is fine. I can kill your son right now in front of you," Daemon threatened.

"No! Please, I will show you everything! Do not kill him! Promise that you will send him to the Wall!", she insisted, her voice desperate.

"Excellent. First, we will finish with the wildfire. Then I will execute you and your father. Your youngest son will go to the Wall, you will lose all titles, but you will remain alive."

With that, Daemon pulled Tommen's body toward himself. As he was already floating, it was simple to carry him while moving out of the castle.
