Chapter 233 – Conquering King’s Landing 04.

[Chapter Size: 2300 Words.]

Third Person POV.

King's Landing.

...

...

Daemon led the way out of the Red Keep. Obviously, he did not choose the gate, while the Lannister guards were still trying to hold it, somewhat panicked after hearing from the court nobles that the enemy leader was inside, simply using magic and massacring anyone.

Even so, the guards still needed to protect themselves, because the population itself wanted to tear them apart, while the fight was still happening throughout the city.

Daemon walked forward calmly, waiting for Cersei to follow him, into the tunnels he had already mapped the first time he entered there. She seemed to bare her teeth the entire time, and Daemon amused himself with that.

When they came out, they were outside the fortress. Cersei hated walking through that sewer exit while they entered the city.

"You know, I would even ask you to carry us, but I'm sure you would try to deceive us. So please, follow me, for the sake of your son. I already know where all the wildfire caches are," he said, moving ahead.

Cersei stared at him with deadly eyes, like blades, but that was all. Daemon was not afraid of her. In fact, he found it funny the way she tried to look tough, as if she had any chance of killing him.

"I heard you acquired a hateful and mad face in the last moons. I think it suits you better like this," Daemon said, without looking at her. "You're already becoming a crazy whore."

"It was you who left me like this! What did you do to me?" she exclaimed.

Daemon merely laughed. "I saw that you are the type of woman who lives only to acquire power and pleasure. I removed pleasure from your body so that you would become increasingly mad, more frustrated, and take it out on everything and everyone. I saw how you beat Sansa just to get to me, since you could not do that. Well, unfortunately it didn't work for you. After all, Sansa meant nothing to me. She was just a foolish girl, trying to please her mother, living to offend me when she was a child, even thinking that I was unworthy of the air she breathed." Daemon did not seem even slightly sad as he said that. They were old memories.

"I will greatly enjoy seeing you dead, you damned sorcerer!" she said, with the same hateful tone.

Daemon did not take offense. He merely shrugged and, with a pull of telekinesis, made her stumble and fall to the ground, dirtying her dress.

"Watch where you're walking. Maybe you wouldn't stumble so much with your mouth," he mocked.

The woman looked at him with hatred, but stood up and said nothing.

They walked through the streets while people screamed. Cersei's dress, even dirty now, drew attention and, seeing that noblewoman, some very dirty men, dressed like beggars, pointed at her. Cersei did not fail to take steps backward.

Those fools did not even look at the man carrying an unconscious child over his shoulder. Daemon then immediately raised one of his hands, and five others began to approach, not understanding what was happening. The six people were pressed by an invisible force. Daemon simply clenched his hand and broke each of their necks, killing them right there, and moved on.

Even the others around them were left speechless.

They entered the first ruin. "Go ahead. And if you do not start shouting for them to stop before they light any pile of that fuel, your son will be in danger. I will have a half-destroyed city to rebuild later, but I will be fine. I will only lose a bit of money and time. If you think your son is worth that..." he spoke calmly.

She stared at him for a moment before stepping forward and beginning to shout: "In the name of the queen, stop this!"

She entered the tunnel, and Daemon simply made a torch float in the air, lighting the path as he followed right behind, still with Tommen floating beside him.

Cersei kept shouting, until finally children began to appear.

"Wait... aren't these Varys' little birds?" Daemon murmured. He remembered those children very well.

"Former little birds. Qyburn took them over after that traitor left King's Landing along with the Tully whore and her family," she snarled.

Daemon smiled. "You tend to see everyone different from you as inferior beings, don't you? No wonder the Lannisters were so isolated. It wasn't only the lion's actions that harmed them." He laughed, pausing. "As you say? A lion does not listen to a sheep... See what that led to. Haha."

Cersei clenched her teeth at the comments. She ignored Daemon and turned back to the child. "Call the others. Tell everyone to come here!" Cersei ordered, although Daemon could feel that her true desire was to light everything and burn them all.

Daemon mocked her. "I remember your brother killed the last person who said that."

"The same brother you murdered in cold blood!" she shot back. That reminded her of how much she hated Jaime. More than she wanted to admit. At first, she wanted to see him dead, but she knew it was not possible. Not like that.

Daemon did not care and even changed the subject as they followed to where the child had run to call the others.

"Speaking of Varys earlier... Did you know that Varys was a Blackfyre?" Daemon began to chat with Cersei, while she alternated between hatred and surprise — although the hatred was greater. He spoke as if nothing were happening and as if the woman beside him did not hate him with all her strength.

"In fact, he had been planning this for a long time. Perhaps you were just a baby in your mother's arms when he began thinking about the future, and today he wants to place his nephew, pretending to be my dead brother, on the throne. He was so proud at Storm's End, you should have seen it... Said he would avenge his supposed sister and his supposed mother against the Lannisters... but in the end, I arrived first, didn't I?" Daemon said with a smile.

Cersei ground her teeth.

When they reached the place where the wildfire was stored, Daemon simply raised his hand and began making all the barrels disappear, one after another, as he collected them into his dimensional space, separating them.

There were five children gathered at the end of the tunnel. They could not speak; their tongues had been cut out.

"Tell them to go away and hide until the dust settles. There is still filth to be cleaned," Daemon ordered.

Cersei nodded, giving the order.

Daemon had already collected more than forty barrels on that street, very close to the gate. It would have been quite an explosion — not enough to affect the castle, but it would certainly have killed thousands of troops passing through there.

After that, he led Cersei to the other hideout, repeating the same process. The former queen mother had no choice, since her son was there, unconscious, on Daemon's shoulder.

"I heard about your daughter in Dorne. My condolences," Daemon said when they left the third hideout, the last one.

Cersei ground her teeth at him and at what had happened. Her daughter had been attacked and had lost an ear, caused by Black Star. Her beautiful face had also been wounded, losing much of the beauty she had always taken pride in. She had not yet seen her daughter in person, but she had received a letter reporting the situation. She knew she was marked.

"I will make them pay for this," she murmured. Daemon had no idea where that woman found confidence when she was about to be executed.

In any case, they left the hideout. Daemon simply looked up at the city's sky and gave an order to Winter, who began to roar louder than before. The troops were already moving through those streets to avoid the danger of the wildfire. The dragon's constant roar was the signal Daemon had arranged with all the commanders.

Winter continued roaring for several seconds, in a way that everyone understood the message.

The streets were finally clean and safe. "It seems it's over," Daemon said.

Cersei passed by the corpse of a gold cloak, possibly killed by the population itself. She saw his sword lying on the ground and simply picked it up, no longer able to endure Daemon's mockery. Even she had her limit.

"I see that my son will always be in danger, while you live!!" she shouted, raising the sword against him.

Daemon simply punched her in the face before she could attack him, making her fall backward as she collided with the ground, her nose bleeding.

"Well, I admit your courage, but it ends here. And I intend to keep my word, I will send the boy to the Wall," Daemon said, simply making her fall unconscious in the next moment as he lifted her into the air.

He moved toward the front of the castle, where there was a crowd. The sound of the Northern army's horses began to be heard, catching people by surprise. The Targaryen banners advanced through the streets, even along the sides, where Stannis was already circling around together with Brynden Tully and Val.

Daemon made his ethereal dragon armor emerge once again with 'MUL QAH DIIV' over his body, alerting the people who were there. As soon as they saw him carrying two people over his shoulder, they were immediately frightened and began to run, making way for him to pass.

"Out of the way," Daemon ordered. "The city is already taken. If you do not wish to die in vain, just return to your homes. I do not intend to loot anyone, and whoever does so will be punished. Now withdraw, for I have no intention of harming the people. We have food that will be delivered tomorrow, so I want you to leave this place immediately."

Daemon's voice roared through the area. His transformation, looking almost like a draconic god, helped convince the crowd, which began to disperse, running while opening a path for him to pass toward the gate.

"So you have two choices. Either I break down the gate, or you open it politely and your life will be spared," Daemon asked the man, who swallowed hard and nodded.

The gate began to open. He entered again and left it open so the troops could arrive. He went straight to the throne room and found Tywin chained in the air, not removing him from there.

The first troops finally passed through the gate, while the cavalry advanced to secure the Red Keep, where men were already surrendering. None of them raised a sword.

Val entered, with Sandor and Lafy, who was also at her side, her sword stained with blood. The Hound followed alongside her as her guard, and Val also bore marks of conflict up to that point.

"Where is Daemon?" Val asked one of the Riverlands lords.

"The guards said he is inside, on the throne. We are heading there," the noble replied to the king's lover.

The woman nodded, dismounted, and went inside along with Sandor and Lafy.

They found Daemon seated on the Iron Throne, watching a man chained almost to the ceiling of the hall and several people unconscious at his feet.

The lords who had fought were all gathering there. They seemed excited with Daemon sitting on the throne. His conquest had been a success after all.

"Well, you've arrived," Daemon gave a small smile to Val.

It did not take long after that for the city to finally begin to calm down. The troops advanced throughout the area, searching for enemies. There was some looting and even abuses by Daemon's men, but the army itself began arresting every one of those whose blood had boiled too much for them to control their actions. Now they would pay for it.

Lord Stark arrived at the Red Keep along with his son, who brought Roose Bolton's body and the troops.

"Mance, what is the situation?" Lord Stark approached the leader of the free folk, wanting to know the situation as he looked at the white dragon flying over the city.

"The castle was taken some time ago. Daemon asked Stannis' men to bring the important prisoners who were in the dungeons. Lord Tully went with him in search of his nephew, but he has already been informed," Mance replied.

Lord Stark nodded as he looked at his son and the other lords. "Let us go inside. Your Majesty must be waiting on the throne," he said.

He, his son, the lords of Skagos, the mountain clans, Lord Manderly and men of the North, such as men from House Cerwyn, House Dustin, and House Karstark, advanced with Ned and Robb, entering the place.

As they imagined, Daemon was there, seated calmly on the throne, while Val was at his side, sitting on another chair, speaking with him.

Lord Stark did not fail to notice the unconscious Lannisters on the floor. Even old Tywin was there, displayed chained and suspended in the air for all to see in the hall. Anyone who entered would notice him.

"Well, almost everyone is here. Let us wait for the prisoners and begin some decrees, now that the city is secure and under control," Daemon began.

The Iron Throne had returned to its place and was now occupied by the one who had returned from another world precisely to conquer it and avenge his family. The first step had already been taken. Now he would deal with the traitors and the power-hungry.

King's Landing was already his.

And the Seven Kingdoms would soon discover what had happened there in King's Landing: a Targaryen sat upon the Iron Throne in his rightful place.
