Chapter 418: From Overseas Students to Compradors
Chapter 418: From Overseas Students to Compradors
What does it take to shape a true world?
Bai Yang honestly did not know, and neither did Alvin. Even within the Godhead of Lies, there was no useful information regarding this. It seemed they could only figure out such things on their own.
Therefore, Bai Yang refrained from acting immediately. Instead, he prepared to observe what the three overseas students would do first, curious to see if their actions differed from his own thoughts.
These gods had certainly never witnessed the initial creation of a world either, but they definitely had their own ideas. Bai Yang was deeply curious about those ideas.
Judging from their reactions, such an incomplete world could undoubtedly bring tremendous benefits to deities. Thus, Bai Yang decided to amplify this advantage.
It would be even better if this world could become the "ideal home" and "spiritual beacon" for these three deities. If that happened, Bai Yang might even be able to discuss the matter of them becoming "world agents"!
Soon, he saw the three gods take to the sky. At the edge of that world, they cautiously touched the phenomena unfolding before them.
It was the crevice between the world Bai Yang had shaped and the planet itself. Inside lay a safe realm, while outside was the perilous expanse of outer space.
Of course, gods did not find outer space dangerous. They were merely studying this worldly crevice, watching the elemental convergence gather and grow within the supernatural boundaries, completely mesmerized by the wonder of it all!
"Is this the primordial posture of a world?" Faisal asked in astonishment. "I can see the elements practically exposed. It is a pity we do not have the authority to control them. Otherwise, if we could use these elements to condense a divine portfolio, we might be able to touch the threshold of powerful divine power right now!"The other two were naturally aware of this as well. Hearing his words, they felt a deep sense of shared anxiety and resonance.
They could certainly try to seize control, but doing so might result in their deaths the very next second. Moreover, these were not their true bodies, but mere avatars. If they died, the insights they gained would not return to their main bodies, making it a massive loss!
They did not consider themselves lucky enough to pull it off, nor were they naive enough to believe that this seemingly brand-new world was completely unmonitored!
Hal sighed with a hint of regret, "I am starting to believe in the might of this divine pantheon... The land beneath our feet cannot be much inferior to the Dylan Continent, can it?"
Standing on the exterior of the planet, they could behold the endless starry sky outside. Naturally, they could also sense the majestic vastness of the planet beneath them. It was a landmass no smaller than their own continent.
Hearing Hal's words, the other two quickly raised their heads. They could easily discern the underlying implications!
Such a massive continent, completely devoid of deities, where everything was waiting to be built and slowly growing. It might take tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years for it to mature into a complete realm!
So, where would the gods of such a continent come from?
Realizing this, Faisal suddenly snapped his head up. "New deities are very likely to be born on this continent!"
"Or perhaps these divine seats have already been planned out, and creating this world was merely a means to forge those seats for specific individuals!" Hal's words instantly shattered their confidence.
So it was just a limited opportunity—a pre-filled position. To think that even divine seats could be rigged like that. What had they been striving so desperately for all these years?
This world was truly unbelievable. Even if someone wanted to become a god and lacked a divine seat, a whole new world could be specially carved out just to serve as their ascension ground.
When would they ever receive such treatment? They could not even fathom it in their wildest dreams...
Now, the three of them finally understood where Lova's overwhelming arrogance came from!
No matter how proud they were in their hearts, they could not help but feel a twinge of envy. Compared to these beings, they were nothing more than countryside bumpkins!
Right at that moment, they noticed the actions of Guatmus and the others down below:
The king was leading his people in constructing something that resembled an altar. Beside them, an old man was slowly chanting something:
"Oh, Sun God... You have bestowed upon us food and water, and shaped a new world for us..."
"Our king will eventually ascend to the divine realm and become a member of the gods!"
"We pray that you allow him to continue protecting us..."
Hearing this, the three gods grew even more envious. A mere mortal could ascend to godhood? And it seemed he would be a primordial deity of this primordial world?
Wouldn't that guarantee him immense powerful divine power? Going by this standard, just how many beings with powerful divine power did this divine pantheon possess?
And there were two other divine pantheons of equal standing to this one!
"I almost want to stay here myself. How did a demigod like Lova luck into such a feast!" the unnamed god muttered quietly. "I am actually quite curious about what kind of rewards this divine pantheon will give us..."
The three were certainly not slacking off. Instead, they were following the rules, untangling the fringes of the world before them to allow those rules to better permeate the outside. This would ensure the world's evolution was more comprehensive and perfect!
This was the only thing they could do right now; in this incomplete world, their hands were tied to this single task.
Of course, doing so had its benefits. They were able to perceive the shifts in energy and the world much more profoundly, making it significantly easier to elevate their own divine rank!
...
Observing their actions, Bai Yang nodded in satisfaction.
"They are accelerating the formation of this world. If an endless stream of deities were to arrive, the time required to complete this world might be reduced from dozens of eons down to just a few eons..." Alvin noted.
"Exactly. Aren't they just our perfect workers?" Bai Yang replied. "And since this labor elevates their own strength, they will do it tirelessly and with great joy!"
Bai Yang continued, "Alvin, did you see that? The envy in their eyes is impossible to fake. Tell me, if we offered them a chance to maintain contact with us in the future, do you think they would accept?"
"They absolutely would, Your Crown! Without a doubt!" Alvin replied swiftly. "Having basked in the light, how could they ever endure the darkness again?"
"Indeed. To them, this world is simply far too bright!" Bai Yang remarked.
The concept of a comprador—a local agent serving foreign interests—was naturally detestable in one's own nation. But in another nation, they were an incredibly wonderful asset!
After all, back home, they were just a bunch of trash squandering ancestral property without remorse, parasites who only knew how to fawn over their foreign masters. They were the most despicable and treacherous demographic in the nation.
But if these people belonged to other nations, they suddenly became champions of free trade, the best cooperative partners, and the most trustworthy agents.
Whether this was a good or bad thing depended entirely on which side one's stance rested.
From Bai Yang's perspective, these three overseas students were exceedingly pleasing to the eye. To think they actually wanted to take the initiative to spread the culture here back to the Dylan Continent. What was this? These were the true "old friends" of their world!
Bai Yang immediately decided to cultivate a solid relationship with these "old friends." He needed to communicate with them thoroughly and ensure they remained brimming with confidence in his world!
It all boiled down to that old saying: the prerequisite for a cultural invasion is that you must be sufficiently powerful!
You had to become the top dog of the world; only then would the admirers of strength flock to your side. If you proclaimed yourself the boss, yet got punched by a guy in straw sandals today and slapped by a guy in flip-flops tomorrow, what prestige would you have left?
Isn't that right, Uncle Sam?
But if you could make everyone acknowledge that you were the "Big Brother," the undisputed number one in the world, and the beacon of the universe, then even if you didn't hand out a single scrap of dog food, countless people would still bring their own dry rations just to speak up in your defense. That was simply human nature!
Therefore, Bai Yang needed to maintain his divine persona. Instead of actively trying to recruit them, he would make them voluntarily become the propagators of this world!
Even for compradors, they had to be the ones begging for the job before he would allow them to do it. If they didn't beg, could they take the position? Not a chance!
The Dylan Continent had the manpower but lacked the resources. Did that not make it the perfect labor export organization?
Bai Yang had already formulated a detailed plan in his mind. Since these deities could serve such a magnificent purpose, failing to utilize them would be an absolutely unforgivable way to waste natural resources!
He needed to let them reap some benefits and then return to the Dylan Continent to heavily boast about it. Only through this method could he successfully develop an extensive network of downlines.
Besides, due to the constraints of the space-time rift, immensely powerful deities could not yet enter. Only deities of this specific caliber could cross the threshold.
This was exactly why Bai Yang felt so at ease.
As long as he was given a little more time to acquire further strength and elevate his godhead one more time, he would truly have nothing left to fear.
"Give me a bit of time, and give them a bit of time as well. There is no rush. Let this situation ferment for a while longer..."
Bai Yang stated smoothly.
"For now, I should focus on resolving the issue of the wish force..."
