Chapter 402: Giving Them a Little Shock from a Proper Divine Pantheon
Chapter 402: Giving Them a Little Shock from a Proper Divine Pantheon
"Crown, it actually worked!" Alvin's voice rang out with excitement, causing Bai Yang to laugh even more unrestrainedly.
"I knew it. They definitely wouldn't want to miss out on the information here, and out of wariness toward us, they certainly wouldn't dare make a massive scene!" Bai Yang declared. "Look, the Wish Power from a Powerful Divine Power has arrived, hasn't it?"
Alvin nodded. "Yes, it has arrived! Now, there will be an invisible pair of eyes watching us in this world. They will observe everything here, pay attention to its development, and continuously provide us with Wish Power. But Crown, this is also highly dangerous!"
"You mean to say that once we are exposed, it will result in an even more terrifying crisis, right?" Bai Yang asked.
Alvin nodded affirmatively. "Exactly! If they see through the deception, it will inevitably trigger a catastrophic disaster!"
Bai Yang naturally understood Alvin's concerns. The performance had been spectacular and had successfully convinced the other party, but if they could not locate the entity's true method of observation, it meant they had almost no countermeasures!
It seemed like a fantastic move for now, and they had indeed reaped the benefits. Even better, since Bai Yang had advanced from the God of Lies to the God of Trickery, he no longer needed to pay the price for those who believed the deception and later changed their minds. Everything was utterly perfect.
Now, any Wish Power that fell into his hands truly belonged to him; it could no longer be some illusory construct.
Yet, a lie was still a lie, and lies always demanded a price. The cost of deceiving a Powerful Divine Power was naturally horrifying. The moment they realized they had been tricked, Bai Yang would undoubtedly face a devastating strike from a top-tier Supernatural Faction of a transcendent world!
Furthermore, while their performance could be absolutely flawless, and most of the Divine Miracles would indeed become reality as the virtual Divine Kingdom, virtual Wish Power, and the Faith Sealing the Nation plan came to fruition! However, they were all Deities. If those Powerful Divine Powers, ancient monsters who had lived for untold millennia and possessed boundless experience, were allowed to stare at their world every single day, problems would arise even if there were none to begin with.
"Indeed, Crown. Every Powerful Divine Power possesses transcendent strength. Even if they are intimidated by us now, there will surely come a day when they cannot resist reaching their hands into this world!"
"And the moment they make contact with this world, they will definitely notice the discrepancies here. That will be the moment we are in the greatest peril!"
It was easy to fool them when they were merely spectators, but once they stepped onto the field as players, the scale of Interests and the amount of effort they invested would change entirely, naturally leading to completely different outcomes.
Bai Yang was well aware of this, but he clearly had a trick up his sleeve. "This brings us to the grand gift I mentioned earlier. Alvin, let us send them another present. We will give them that asteroid we talked about!"
"Crown, won't giving them things like this only make them greedier?" Alvin could not comprehend the logic. "Matter is the absolute scarcest resource on the Dylan Continent. Once we give them something, they will only want more!"
Bai Yang nodded. "That is a given, but it is not a bad thing. In fact, it is a wonderful thing!"
A mischievous smirk surfaced on his face. "You have to consider, Alvin, the items we send in are undeniably highly valuable. So, what will those people think?"
"They will think that the outside world is vastly superior to their inner world?" Alvin suddenly understood. Was this not exactly like the idiom Bai Yang always mentioned, about how a foreign Buddhist Monk was always believed to chant scriptures better?
"Spot on!" Bai Yang rapped his knuckles against the table. "If we can casually give away Matter, doesn't that further prove that our strength surpasses theirs, and our Divine System is far more flawless than theirs?"
"We can use the opportunity of sending gifts to cultivate a group of Vested Interests in that world, ensuring they firmly believe in everything happening here without a single shred of doubt!"
"It would be even better if we could use this group of Vested Interests to foster our own legion of propagandists across the Dylan Continent!"
Although America was notoriously sinister, Bai Yang knew that for the nation to become a World Hegemon, it was by no means incompetent!
Cultivating their own people within an enemy faction was their specialty. The so-called ultimate technique of long-distance indoctrination essentially boiled down to exactly this.
And now, Bai Yang wanted to replicate that exact behavior. He intended to turn the Divine Pantheon he had fabricated into the America of the Dylan Continent in the eyes of its gods, a true beacon nation!
Moreover, he already had the perfect candidate for the job!
"Lova is still in the middle of his ascension, correct?" Bai Yang asked.
Alvin nodded hastily. "Yes. After all, he discarded his Deity status to ascend anew, and he is utilizing the World Tree ascension protocol you established. It might not be a swift process!"
Bai Yang raised a hand. "Then let him continue his ascension, but have him manifest an avatar to take a trip back to the Dylan Continent!"
"Do it in the name of Haimudaer. The relationship between those two is fairly decent!"
Alvin nodded respectfully. "As you will it!"
...
In the extreme north, within the void snowfields, lay Lova's ascension grounds. It was infinitely frigid here, completely suiting Lova's divine portfolio of cold. He was currently working diligently on his advancement, constantly communicating with a peculiar entity known as Yggdrasil.
This was something Lova found incredibly fascinating. Who would have thought there was actually a Divine Pantheon in this world that operated without the need for a Godhead?
Soon enough, he became completely immersed in the process. Lacking neither faith nor resources, he realized with utter astonishment during his conversations with the World Tree just how blissful it was to be a Deity, specifically, a Deity of the Norse Pantheon!
As the saying went, happiness was born from comparison. Over on the Dylan Continent, a Demigod like Lova could barely even scrape by, let alone enjoy a comfortable life. Simply surviving was a tremendously arduous task.
He had no followers, no resources, and certainly no God Power. He was akin to a marginalized outcast. Forget comparing himself to other Demigods; he even fell pathetically short when measured against certain veteran legendary figures.
Others possessed established Families, territories, and vast wealth. They controlled teleportation arrays spanning various Planes of the Dylan Continent since ancient times and cultivated friendships with ancient realms. In the endlessly long history of the Divine Realm, this was how their intricate, interwoven networks of relationships truly functioned.
In contrast, as a new-generation Demigod, Lova was much like a provincial commoner who had clawed his way up through sheer grit. He had neither a Family backing him nor any solid connections. He had even been forced to scrape together a meager position under the Evil Gods just to survive.
Even so, he had been treated as a discarded pawn and tossed into this world, nearly suffering total physical and spiritual annihilation. If he hadn't been clever enough to immediately join the Aesir Gods, he would probably be nothing more than fertilizer for this world by now.
"But the Aesir Gods truly are deep-pocketed... They're just giving away all these resources and faith for free!" Lova muttered with a sigh of awe. "Is this what a proper Divine Pantheon looks like?"
Naturally, he communicated extensively with Yggdrasil and learned quite a few unique secrets, such as matters regarding Divine Kingdoms.
Every Deity naturally possessed their own realm, known as a Divine Kingdom. Although the Divine Kingdoms of the Aesir Gods were vastly different from what Lova was accustomed to, they were undeniably realms overflowing with tangible resources, and he desperately wanted one for himself.
Lova originally assumed that they would allocate a tiny fragment of space to him, forcing him to painstakingly fill it bit by bit. To his absolute shock, Yggdrasil didn't bother with such trivialities. Instead, the entity directly informed him that everyone simply resided upon the World Tree.
The World Tree graciously prepared a miniature world for every single Deity to serve as their Divine Kingdom.
Of course, if he so desired, he could also apply for resources to construct his own custom Divine Kingdom and mount it onto the branches of the World Tree.
Such a world required no effort on his part to sustain or expand; it would naturally grow alongside the World Tree itself!
"This is a true Divine Pantheon! What kind of respectable pantheon forces its members to build their own Divine Kingdoms from scratch and pay tribute in resources?" Remembering the bitter years he spent as a lowly Demigod, Lova metaphorically shed a tear of deep sorrow.
Fortunately, all his suffering had finally paid off!
Right at that moment, an uninvited guest suddenly appeared outside his Cultivation grounds. "Lova, it is me, Haimudaer!"
"Haimudaer?" Hearing the name, Lova paused in surprise and immediately sent out an avatar to greet him.
He was in the middle of his ascension and his true body could not move, so he could only rely on an avatar to make the trip.
He was no longer the clueless novice he had been when he first arrived in this world. He now possessed a much clearer understanding of this realm and knew exactly what kind of existence Haimudaer represented among the Aesir Gods.
This seemingly incredibly gentle, burly man was one of the Chief Gods of their pantheon. He was the son of the God King Odin, the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, and a rare Chief God who possessed the Combat Power of a War God despite not holding the divine portfolio of war!
Most importantly, the man was profoundly amicable. Even toward a minor Deity like himself, Haimudaer showed absolutely no disdain.
This was the reason Lova was so eager and respectful. Stepping in front of Haimudaer, he bowed. "Honored guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, please accept my apologies for being unable to greet you in person!"
Haimudaer waved a hand dismissively. "I've told you before, there's no need for such formalities. Just call me Haimudaer, Lova!"
The boisterous and straightforward nature of the Norse Gods was displayed vividly through him. He slapped a massive palm onto Lova's shoulder, leaving Lova with no choice but to nod. "Haimudaer, have you come to find me because something has happened in the Pantheon?"
"What could possibly happen in the Pantheon? It's always either war or more war. At most, we just change the battlefield!" Haimudaer bellowed with a hearty laugh, then looked down at Lova. "I came to find you regarding the matters of your previous world!"
"I wonder if you might be interested in passing our stories over to that side?"
"And giving them a little shock from a proper Divine Pantheon?"
