Chapter 380: The Graveyard Opens, Transcendent Power Emerges!
Chapter 380: The Graveyard Opens, Transcendent Power Emerges!
"Everyone has arrived..." Just as all parties were locked in a tense standoff, Austin suddenly rose slowly from the seawater. Cradling his crystal skull, he offered a measured bow to the surrounding crowd.
"Good afternoon, everyone. I am Austin. On behalf of His Eminence the Sea God, I welcome you all!"
Upon hearing those words and recognizing that name, everyone in the White House War Room crowded around the monitors!
They knew exactly who this man was. He was the one who had taken the Transcendent Power that rightfully belonged to them, and it was his departure that had directly led to the destruction of the Second Fleet!
Now, this man had actually shown up again? What was he trying to do?
They were not the only ones wondering this. The surrounding fleets from various nations were also on high alert. They had originally assumed this supernatural graveyard was masterless, but now, it actually had an "owner"?
Austin had no intention of keeping them in suspense. He spoke slowly, "One thousand five hundred years ago, we experienced our golden age. It was the greatest era of development for our people on this continent. But it was also during that era that you despicable Invaders arrived and destroyed our world!"
"Therefore, the High Priest of the Mayan Tribe joined forces with the High Priests of the Aztec Empire and the Inca Empire to cast a curse over this Sea Area. Using this crystal monkey skull, they cursed you Invaders to be forever trapped in the coffin of windless calm!"
Hearing this, everyone came to a Sudden Realization.
No wonder there were so many shipwrecks in this Sea Area. No wonder there were so many Supernatural Ruins and Transcendent artifacts here. As it turned out, a genuine supernatural curse lingered in this place!"Now, descendants of the Invaders, do you wish to experience that past destruction once more?" Austin's words immediately struck fear into the hearts of many.
The fleets of that era had undoubtedly possessed Transcendent Power as well, yet they had still met their doom here. Such a curse was undeniably terrifying!
However, if there was one thing the world never lacked, it was clever people. The Spaniards and the Dutch, for instance, soon had their voices blaring through the loudspeakers. "But your empires were utterly wiped out by us. Do you honestly think we lack the power to do it again?"
One speaker even took the logic a step further. "You may have gained Transcendent Power, but we have received the legacy of the Gods as well. I would even argue that this is the Gods actively suppressing you!"
"We have so many Transcendent Beings on our side, while you stand entirely alone!"
Hearing this, the vast crowd present experienced another wave of Sudden Realization!
That was right! Although the man before them was undeniably strong and this graveyard was terrifying, what did it matter in the grand scheme of things? Weren't they the ones who emerged victorious in the end?
If their ancestors and Transcendent Beings could win that unique supernatural war back then and completely Rule this continent, then of course they could do the same now!
Looking at it that way, wasn't their acquisition of Transcendent Power simply the will of the Gods?
Perhaps it was the European Gods who had banded together back then to shatter the defenses of the Gods of the Americas, allowing their ancestors to settle on this continent!
At this thought, everyone grew confident, even arrogant. Their Transcendent Beings took a collective step forward, confronting Austin directly. "We did not come here to start a War. We are simply here to retrieve the Holy Relics that rightfully belong to us. There is no problem with that, is there?"
Though phrased as a question, their tone was thick with unmistakable coercion.
This was the true nature of the Europeans—when they held the advantage, their arrogance knew no bounds!
With so many people on their side, what did it matter if the man standing before them possessed Transcendent Power? Their numerical advantage was overwhelming!
Seeing these people aggressively flaring their Transcendent Power as a form of intimidation, Austin let out a heavy sigh and looked toward Nick in the distance. "You are also a child of God. Why do you stand on their side?"
"Although I am from the Americas, the power I now wield belongs to the Nordic Gods!" Nick replied with icy calm. "I cannot stand with you. I can feel it—our powers are diametrically opposed!"
"Therefore, I will not raise my hand against you, but I cannot help you either!"
Hearing this, even Austin, who had a God backing him, appeared to lose much of his momentum. Yet, he continued to stand his ground.
"This is the graveyard of a divine War. Terrifying dangers lurk within. The Gods placed a Seal here, and I will not allow you to break it!"
"Lifting this blockade will unleash a horrifying crisis!"
He spoke with fierce conviction, but right as the words left his lips, a golden skeleton slowly floated up behind him, clutching a scrap of cloth stained with patches of white and red.
"The Spanish Priest... the blood-stained Shroud..." The eyes of everyone who knew the lore lit up with sheer greed. To their immense delight, they realized that the Three Holy Relics mentioned in the ancient Crew Logs—the keys capable of opening the Windless Graveyard—were finally gathered!
Everyone stared at the sea beneath them with absolute Fanaticism. Looking at the crystal skull, the Shroud, and the Horse-Bone Compass, their eyes shone with ravenous desire!
The Three Holy Relics were assembled, and the supernatural graveyard was about to be unsealed. How could anyone not be filled with Expectation?
"The Mystery of the Gods is buried within that graveyard. This is the only Secret that will guide us to true Transcendence!" someone shouted, immediately lunging toward the Shroud. After all, two of the Three Holy Relics already had owners. The only unclaimed item was naturally worth fighting over.
Elton, in particular, wasted no time. He commanded his Sea Giant to march directly toward the small Corpse.
But the moment the Sea Giant moved, a massive wave crashed down, entirely blocking his path forward.
At the exact same moment, Divine Thunder roared in the sky and a Hurricane whipped across the sea. Everyone was surging toward the Shroud, aggressively pushing toward their shared target.
In the blink of an eye, the Transcendent Beings descended into an all-out brawl!
Just as everyone's attention was entirely consumed by the chaotic scramble, Austin, who had been standing in the center of the crowd, suddenly let out a startled cry!
"Damn it..."
Everyone snapped their heads around, only to realize that at some unknown point, the crystal skull that should have been resting safely in Austin's hands had been snatched away!
The person who had stolen the skull was none other than Nick!
The arrogant young man had directed the giant octopus beneath him to snatch the crystal skull right out of Austin's grasp, and then, without a single shred of hesitation, he plunged headfirst into the raging battlefield!
"Is he insane? In a battle like this, even the slightest mistake will get him killed!"
Someone screamed in disbelief, but it did nothing to stop the seemingly crazed youth from carrying two Holy Relics straight into the fray to contest for the final one!
Unlike the others who were merely using their Transcendent Power to attack and suppress their rivals, this enormous octopus forcibly bulldozed its way into the battlefield where Divine Thunder violently intertwined, towering waves roared, and sea beasts clashed. Then, under the stunned gaze of everyone present, Nick casually tossed his two Holy Relics directly onto the Corpse of the dead Spanish Priest.
This scene left everyone completely dumbfounded. Nick, his body covered in fresh wounds, emerged before them and sneered. "You all want this graveyard unsealed so badly? Then... have it your way!"
He glared viciously at the foreigners. There was no cunning calculation in his eyes—only naked, burning Hatred. "I do not care about Transcendent Power, and I do not give a damn about any Secret. But if this curse is unleashed, it should kill at least a few of you, right?"
Such unconcealed, bone-deep Hatred certainly fit his character perfectly.
In the next second, the world suddenly fell dead silent.
A colossal Pillar of Light, pitch-black and absolute, erupted from the bottom of the ocean and violently surged toward the heavens. The massive beam was so immense that even Golden Hair and the others, far away in Washington D.C., could faintly make it out in the sky!
Austin looked at the multitude of Transcendent Beings before him with a completely placid expression and shook his head. "Since you are so desperate to open the graveyard, let it be opened... I only hope you do not regret this!"
He dove back into the water, the heavy sea instantly swallowing him whole. Meanwhile, at the exact point where the Three Holy Relics made contact, a violently blinding shade of crimson suddenly bloomed!
It was actually countless corals—blood-red corals that dyed the entire Sea Area a horrifying, crimson hue!
A blood-red Cross rose majestically from the surface of the sea, draped in a web-like structure radiating an emerald green glow. And it was right upon this Great Net that many spotted something extraordinary!
"Is that gold rising up from the water?"
"What does gold matter? The things nestled within the gold are the real key!"
Everyone's eyes burned with rabid greed, for just beneath that Cross, nestled amidst endless mountains of gold, a dazzling array of objects lay shimmering brilliantly!
There was a Compass, bolts of cloth, a Spear, and countless Swords. Every Transcendent artifact they could possibly imagine was suspended right there!
The radiant Light shining from them seemed to scream that these items were the true treasures!
Golden Hair felt his heart bleeding. "Where are our people? Are they not there yet?! The others are about to snatch all of it! Those are the artifacts that can turn people into Transcendent Beings!"
He shuddered to even think about it. If Nuland's Nephew secured those artifacts and brought them back to America, would he, as the leader, still have any real authority over this nation?
However, among the Advisory Team, Professor Thomas remained deep in thought, his brow tightly furrowed. 'Is it really this simple? Can Transcendent Power truly be obtained this easily?'
He could not shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong!
