Chapter 648: Outstanding Perfumer
Chapter 648: Outstanding Perfumer
One of Chloe’s supervisors came over to greet Nora: "Not with Master Elaine today?"
Apparently, the person was distracted.
Maintaining an almost perfect smile, Nora replied to the man dressed in a tailcoat: "The Master is on holiday recently, probably won’t show up until next year."
"It’s a pity, the Master can’t participate in this year’s joint blending."
"Joint blending?" Nora became interested; she didn’t recall hearing about such an event or competition.
Beside her, Lily also leaned in to listen.
The man patiently explained to them: "Each country sends one representative to participate in the international joint fragrance blending, an event that only started emerging in recent years."
Faced with beautiful Eastern faces, he explained with enthusiasm, offering many explanations without them having to ask.
"Only one representative per country, isn’t that like finding a needle in a haystack?" Lily exclaimed.
Doing the math, even one in ten thousand isn’t exaggerated.
Nora wasn’t focused on this; isn’t this a disguised national competition?
On reflection, it was terrifying.
She didn’t listen to the following words, but Lily listened intently, asking questions and getting answers.
The sun set and the moon rose, shadows gradually faded into darkness. Nora suddenly had a new sample bottle in her hand.
She handed it to Lily and asked: "Want to smell it? I think it’s a scent you’d like."
Lily brought her nose close and instantly recognized the scent of pear.
By the time they left The Chloe Fragrance Hall, it was already eight o’clock; thankfully, Singapore and the mainland have the same time, eliminating the need for jet lag adjustment.
The city was bathed in moonlight. Nora held the steering wheel, maneuvering around roadblocks, driving slowly at fifty kilometers per hour.
While crossing a street, she saw a mainland license plate and was surprised: "There’s actually a domestic number plate here."
Sitting in the passenger seat, Lily glanced in the direction of her gaze.
It was a black Cayenne, looking familiar.
The windows were covered with anti-peep film, preventing them from seeing inside, so they missed out.
Lingering at the fragrance exhibition hall for hours, their clothes were infused with scents.
Nora disliked overly strong smells; no matter how pleasant, she changed into a new robe as soon as she returned to the hotel.
After a brief rest, she picked up her phone from the bed, not receiving any message from Jasper, she assumed he was working overtime.
Immediately, Nora took off the freshly worn robe again, preparing to soak in a warm bath.
This hotel thoughtfully provided disposable bathtub liners for guests.
The water temperature was set at 37 degrees Celsius, offering a gentle warmth with soothing effects for muscles.
As time passed, Nora clearly felt the water temperature dropping, but being comfortable, she didn’t want to move.
At this moment, she missed the bathtub at home, where the temperature could be adjusted anytime, with warming effects.
She encased her phone in a transparent bag, allowing her to watch videos while bathing. Just as she was about to open the entertainment app, a video call request popped up on the screen.
Nora was startled, almost dropping her phone into the bathtub.
Her finger slipped, and she accidentally answered.
Thankfully, her reaction speed was quick enough. She disconnected just as it connected for less than a second.
Soon, a WeChat message came through from the other party, displayed in the chat box: "Nora, didn’t expect you had that kind of hobby."
