Chapter 630: Getting Fired?
Chapter 630: Getting Fired?
"Jealousy pot," Nora Northwood playfully teased.
"A new Hunan restaurant opened in the tech park. How about I take you there for lunch tomorrow?"
The person being asked recalled the packed schedule Yvonne Winslow had arranged for her and hesitated to give a definite answer, "I might not have the time."
"It’s opened by a friend, let’s go show some support."
With Jasper Sinclair saying this, Nora couldn’t refuse any further and agreed for now.
...
After a few leisurely days, Nora sat back in the chairman’s seat at VK.
Her subordinates reported as usual, with only four hours in the morning, including three agenda items.
She instructed Yvonne, "Spread the word, only report essential content at the 10:30 meeting and end sharply at 11."
Yvonne obliged, handing her a life-saving cup of coffee while showing concern like a friend, "Take a good rest at noon, there’s a site inspection at the factory in the afternoon."
"Can’t rest, have lunch with Mr. Sinclair, cancel my noon lunch. I’ll meet at the factory in the afternoon. Send the address to my phone."
Yvonne nodded, her fingers sliding across the iPad screen, sending a message from the chat window.
After finishing all that, she stepped out to attend to her own tasks.
Nora took a sip of her coffee—half sweet, half bitter, with a hint of milk flavor.
Then, she started her morning work.
The scorching sunlight spilled into the spacious office. The girl’s seriousness while reviewing documents was second to none, with a hint of grace in her expression.
When the third meeting concluded, someone knocked on Nora’s door in the presidential office.
Busy organizing the meeting minutes, she didn’t raise her head, merely saying, "Come in."
She heard the sound of the door opening, but no one spoke.
Nora was puzzled.
Few could bypass Yvonne and enter her office directly without stating their purpose.
She turned slightly, her head appeared from behind the wide computer. Her brows shifting from a frown to a relaxed comfort, even her eyes formed a crescent.
"I wondered who the new person was that didn’t know the rules." Nora’s tone was brimming with barely contained surprise.
She hurriedly put down her pen and walked over.
Jasper Sinclair’s mood was extremely satisfied as he reached out to wrap Nora’s waist, pulling her close to his chest and asked with a smile, "Should the rule-breaking employee be fired?"
"It’s okay to forgive once if there’s a good reason."
"The boss is quite kind." Jasper didn’t miss any chance to tease her.
"Of course, this is called caring for the people."
With laughter, he lightly applied pressure to the waist against Nora’s back, filling the only gap between them, then leaned down to kiss her.
He tasted the lingering bitterness on her lips, reminiscent of coffee beans.
"Didn’t I tell you to cut back on coffee?"
At home, he’d have Uncle Kevin prepare warm milk.
"Stayed up too late yesterday and was sluggish in the morning, unlike some who eat and drink to their heart’s content."
To be honest, Nora’s boldness has increased; she often jests about those bedroom matters with Jasper, leaving him speechless.
This teasing eased some of the desire in the man’s eyes, and he couldn’t help but chuckle, "Next time, go back to the room and rest earlier."
Discussing such preposterous matters in this formal setting was truly unprofessional.
Jasper toured her new office and asked, "Recently, have you encountered any difficult challenges?"
"Not at the moment, I’ll let you know if there are any."
