Chapter 631: He’s on a Blind Date

Chapter 631: He’s on a Blind Date

Since Nora Northwood moved into the office on the forty-third floor, Jasper Sinclair has been too busy to visit VK.

Taking advantage of the opportunity today, he could seriously take a look around.

When the time was almost right, the two left VK and headed to a private Hunan restaurant.

Nora hadn’t eaten much for breakfast, and now, her stomach was growling, but she didn’t expect to meet another acquaintance at the Hunan restaurant.

The hall was bustling, every table full of guests, and the surrounding environment made one feel that this place must be doing brisk business.

Through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, sunlight shone outside, where the sidewalks on both sides of the road resembled a silently flowing TV screen filled with shadows of people.

Nora and Jasper sat by the window on one side.

At a table diagonally across from them was Finnian Lawrence, wearing a hoodie, and a girl who looked very familiar.

The simplest piece of clothing could exude an air of nobility when he wore it.

Initially, Nora just nodded at him in acknowledgment, exchanging a simple greeting.

The girl also saw Nora and recognized who she was, but her gaze didn’t linger on her, instead slipping elsewhere after just a glance.

While waiting for the food to arrive, Nora broke from her usual demeanor, becoming quite gossip-hungry.

She asked the person sitting opposite her, "Jasper, don’t they look like they’re on a blind date?"

Due to her position, with her back to Finnian’s table, she could only rely on Jasper to discreetly gather intel.

Having been a person in power for more than a decade, when had Jasper ever engaged in sneaky behaviors?

He was extremely reluctant, but couldn’t resist his wife’s coaxing, so he sought an opportunity, stealing a glance at Finnian’s movements over the edge of his teacup.

Then, he set it down and told Nora, "Seems like a blind date to me."

"Don’t you think the girl at his table looks familiar?"

"One of the bridesmaids from the wedding, you met her yesterday."

Nora was suddenly taken aback, recalling what happened yesterday, connecting it all to this blind date, and thus, an answer formed in her mind.

"No wonder Finnian was so angry when he left yesterday, he must not really want to go on a blind date!"

"Whether he wants to or not is one thing, but whether he does it is another; he doesn’t have a choice."

Indeed, at the moment, Finnian was bearing a hint of impatience, although he hid it well. If one wasn’t a close friend, it would be hard to detect his emotions.

Out of courtesy, Nora couldn’t turn around to look.

Her hands under the table repeatedly clenched and unclenched.

She felt anxious for Lily Sloan; what if Finnian really ended up with another girl’s family?

Nora could only be anxious without being able to help.

And what if Finnian was actually willing to date?

Jasper took in her movements and subtle expressions, then gave a meaningless smile.

"Nora, don’t worry about other people’s relationships; if you don’t start eating, the food will get cold."

Jasper deliberately shifted her attention, starting to discuss other topics, recent financial news, and the summer trends in the fragrance industry.

In the end, they talked about everything Nora was interested in, finally pulling her thoughts back in.

By the end of the meal, the atmosphere was quite harmonious, and she no longer kept glancing over at Finnian’s table.

While taking a trip to the restroom, she covertly snuck a few glances out of the corner of her eye.
