Chapter 563: Mother and Daughter Reunited
Chapter 563: Mother and Daughter Reunited
Inside the car.
Nora thanked Aunt Hutchinson profusely, "Aunt Hutchinson, thanks to your appearance today, you helped me out of a tight spot."
"If I hadn’t appeared, would you have been bullied?" Elaine gave a half-smile, perhaps finding her change from earlier amusing.
She quickly replied, "I wouldn’t be bullied. After all, a cornered rabbit will bite!"
"There’s no need to be too polite with people like that. If something happens, I’ll cover for you."
This was the first time Nora truly felt the comfort of having someone backing her.
Suddenly, her nose tingled with emotion.
"Aunt Hutchinson, can I hug you?"
This action surprised Elaine, who had been waiting for this moment for a long time. She immediately embraced Nora.
As they hugged, both closed their eyes to feel each other’s warmth and the unspoken understanding between them.
This moment spoke louder than words.
After a long while, Nora’s eyes filled with tears as she said shakily, "Thank you, Mom."
"Nora, what did you call me?"
Elaine seemed not to believe her ears, wanting to confirm once more.
This time, it was Nora’s turn to feel embarrassed as she softly called, "Mom."
"My daughter, I’ve waited so long to hear that!"
Their conversation reached the driver’s ears, almost making him forget to turn the steering wheel.
Turns out, the boss’s long-lost daughter was right there beside them!
Once seated again, Nora wiped away tears from her eyes, while Elaine’s situation was worse, crying like a fountain.
"No wonder I’ve been sensitive to spices since I was little. Thinking back, it’s due to your genetic inheritance. Honestly, for a long time, I’ve felt a sense of familiarity about you."
"There’s a mother-daughter connection. I should’ve realized it earlier. If only I had held your hand and chatted more, we wouldn’t have had to wait until now to recognize each other. In hindsight, it’s like heaven punishing me!"
"Just meeting you is already the best outcome. By the way, can we... not tell Jasper Sinclair about this yet?"
Elaine looked at her, understanding everything.
"What’s going on with you two? I’ve watched Jasper grow up, so if you feel wronged, just tell me. Don’t hold it inside."
"It’s a long story."
Nora hesitated, wondering if she should share the whole story, when the driver hit the brakes.
A private dining restaurant appeared, serving only ten tables a day, requiring at least a month’s advance reservation.
The doorman, informed earlier about the visiting guests, was waiting at the door.
"Welcome, Master Elaine."
"This is my daughter." Elaine eagerly announced her relationship with Nora to the outside world.
She couldn’t wait to tell the world about their connection.
"Hello, Miss Irving."
Looking in from the entrance, the ground is covered in artificial grass, lush and vivid green, with a narrow path walked through the center.
"This is a small restaurant opened by a friend after retiring, with great privacy. If you like it, we can come often in the future."
Elaine thoughtfully introduced Nora.
Since it was mentioned, Nora added a few words, "I’ve heard that there’s a private dining place in the city center that’s extremely hard to book. Borrowing your influence today, talking about it later will surely make others envious."
"My humble influence still works. In the future, if you encounter issues outside that you can’t resolve, feel free to use it!"
