Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 540: Fighting at School

Chapter 540: Fighting at School

"Grandma, please help me take care of Nora. I have some urgent matters to deal with."

With that, Jasper Sinclair picked up his plain suit jacket from the back of the chair, ready to leave.

Once again, he made a disappointing choice between Nora Northwood and Peach Bell.

"You brat, who allowed you to leave?" Grandma Sinclair said, determined not to let anyone ruin the rare chance she had orchestrated. She got up from her seat, briskly walked over to Jasper, and blocked his exit.

Jasper paused slightly and explained, "Peach got into a fight with someone at school."

"It’s not like the Sinclair Family doesn’t have other people! Leaving at a time like this, Raina!"

Raina Sinclair chimed in at the right moment: "I’ll handle it. You stay here with Grandma and Nora."

That night.

Peach was brought home from school, a small scar on her face, presumably from someone with long nails.

She lingered around Grandma Sinclair’s room, her gaze occasionally glancing inside, as if waiting for someone.

Finally, after nightfall, the person she was waiting for arrived.

"Sister Nora, what were you talking about with Grandma for so long?"

As the weather got colder, Peach wore a thin sweater, blue denim overalls with one strap hanging down, looking just like a pure young college girl.

Which man wouldn’t be dazzled by that?

However, Nora felt that the innocence in Peach’s eyes had vanished, replaced by other thoughts.

Through her guise, Nora tried to peer into her mind but realized her thoughts were too complicated, unnecessary for someone who was just coming of age. She replied, "Just casual chatter, family matters."

"Are you really going to divorce Brother Jasper?"

"Maybe it’s true."

Next, Peach said something that Nora thought utterly shattered her worldview.

"Then can you let me have Brother Jasper? I don’t have parents in this world anymore, only him as a family. If you take him away, then no one will love me!"

The girl’s pitiful expression fell into Nora’s eyes; she couldn’t believe such words would come out of Peach’s mouth.

Could it be that going to school had changed the girl’s mindset?

She took a deep breath and said, "He never loved you."

"He will love me!" The girl insisted, determined to fight to the death.

"That’s between you and him, it has nothing to do with me." Nora shrugged, giving Peach a carefree back view.

She found herself increasingly impatient.

In the past, she might have said more, but now she simply couldn’t be bothered.

When Nora returned to the room, Jasper was in the shower, the sound of water intermittently echoing.

She paced back and forth in the room, pondering how to get through the night.

They can’t possibly share the same bed?

In the past, she wouldn’t have hesitated, but now, with divorce looming, it was hard to peacefully coexist under the same roof.

Soon, the sound of water came to an abrupt stop.

As Jasper emerged, he was wrapped in a cashmere robe, the collar open, revealing much of his chest and the muscular lines from his chest to his abs, still carrying the scent of shower gel.

Nora’s eyes fell on him, and she unconsciously swallowed.

She shouted inwardly: No playing seductive games!
