Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 539: Stay Tonight

Chapter 539: Stay Tonight

Lynn Woodward couldn’t care less about whether it was the first or second marriage. As long as someone could marry into the Sinclair Family, they’d have no worries for the rest of their life, and the Woodward Family could rise again!

"Mom, haven’t you been talking about wanting to eat crab roe recently?" Jenson Sinclair, seeing his mother lost in thought, quickly tried to bring her back to the moment, to avoid the old lady noticing the little schemes between mother and son.

...

Finally enduring until the meal was over, Nora Northwood put down her utensils, wanting nothing more than to leave this place that had left her so bewildered.

Grandma Sinclair saw her putting down her chopsticks and gently segued to another topic, "Nora, there’s one more thing I need to ask you."

"Please, go ahead."

"Promise me first, dear."

Nora slightly furrowed her brows, unsure what the old lady was up to and not daring to agree hastily, thus adopting an evasive maneuver.

"As long as it’s something I can do, I’ll agree. But please tell me first."

"You can definitely do it!" The old lady said confidently, a gleam in her eyes.

"Just to be clear, you mustn’t interfere with the marriage between Mr. Sinclair and me."

The old lady’s eyes twirled around, thinking her request wouldn’t count as interference, "Don’t worry, Grandma won’t force you to want him!"

Nora held back a laugh, as if the way Jasper Sinclair was talked about made him seem like some unwanted piece of rotten meat.

After pondering for a moment, and unable to figure out what the old lady might ask, she decided to agree first.

"I promise you, please go ahead."

"Stay tonight, and keep me company for a heart-to-heart and some moon gazing."

Nora was taken aback, her pale face cycling through a variety of complex expressions. After a moment, her tightly pressed lips softly opened: "Grandma Sinclair, I can stay and keep you company, but..."

Before she could finish, Grandma Sinclair interrupted her, "No buts, you promised me, Nora."

Nora realized later that the old lady had dug a pit for her, and no matter how unwilling she was, she couldn’t refuse.

She glanced toward the direction of the hall, then said, "In that case, could the butler please prepare a guest room for me."

Her implication: she wouldn’t share a room with Jasper Sinclair.

The butler understood, "Madam, we had some distant relatives visit a few days ago, and the guest room hasn’t been tidied up yet. It probably can’t be prepared tonight. How about staying in the main bedroom?"

"Isn’t there any other room?"

The butler shook his head, "No, the old house doesn’t have many guest rooms available, I apologize for the inconvenience." He said, feigning an apologetic expression.

Nora turned her eyes to Jasper Sinclair’s face, hoping he might say something to help. Perhaps there was still a chance.

Jasper, however, turned his head away, pretending not to have received her signal.

Wasn’t this playing right into their hands?

Grandma Sinclair seized the moment and said, "You’ve been living together for over a year, what’s another day or two? Let the maid tidy up the kitchen, and let’s get some fresh air outside!"

The old lady’s eagerness was apparent to anyone watching, let alone Nora.

Just as she was plotting her escape, Jasper’s phone rang from his pocket.

"Sorry to trouble the professor, I’ll be there shortly to handle it," the man’s tone sounded a bit anxious.

Nora’s heart skipped a beat. Was it something about Peach Bell?

She had never seen anyone else who could get Jasper Sinclair to leave with just a few words. It was clear that Peach Bell held a significant place in his heart.
