Chapter 496: Encounter at the Restaurant
Chapter 496: Encounter at the Restaurant
During the conversation, the waiter served some elegantly plated appetizers to the group.
The chef recommended several wines based on the menu.
Vincent didn’t rush to answer, instead turning to ask the young lady present, "Nora, is it convenient for you to drink?"
"Not particularly inconvenient, though after drinking, I may need Morgan to send me home."
Unconsciously, Nora’s address for Vincent changed from Mr. Morgan back to Morgan.
Finally, they chose a sweet wine with a lower alcohol content.
The wine bottle needed to sit in the ice bucket for a while to enhance the layering of flavors upon entry.
The table was surrounded by laughter, and the three chatted from life to work, then from work to fragrance blending, as if there were endless topics.
...
"Director Sinclair, our company is sincere in cooperating with The Sinclair Group; why not raise it by another percentage point?"
A man with round glasses followed Jasper’s steps, earnestly seeking the cooperation opportunity.
Jasper was considering, but unexpectedly came across the scene of Nora and Vincent joking and laughing together.
With a composed expression, his heart was a mess of jealousy, feigning a slower pace.
"Repeat what you just said."
The incessantly talking entrepreneur discreetly wiped away sweat and repeated his earlier words.
"The Sinclair Group isn’t a charitable organization, so if possible, we’ll collaborate again."
Afterward, Louis sent the entrepreneur away.
With the surroundings quieting down, he tentatively asked, "Boss, should we go over and say hello?"
"Do I have plenty of time?" Jasper gave him a sidelong glance.
Louis thought: Only I am wounded in this world.
The two left the restaurant and headed towards the elevator, with Jasper not glancing sideways.
Louis escorted him back to the villa, thinking the night would pass uneventfully; yet, as he left, the boss instructed, "Organize the collaboration projects with the Morgan Family, I want to see them tomorrow morning."
"Okay, boss."
Jasper spent the entire evening on the balcony.
Every so often, he glanced at the room across the way, repeating this action till 9 PM without seeing the neighbor return home.
At this moment, his mind felt like boiling pot water, bubbling and rolling incessantly.
Jasper, what are you doing?
He asked himself this.
After a while, he opened the positioning system and found that the two dots on the map were steadily approaching each other.
It was easy to guess that Nora was on her way home and would arrive downstairs in a minute.
Jasper hurriedly threw on a jacket and, anxious enough to forget changing slippers, rushed out the door.
A few meters away.
Nora got out of Vincent’s car, the dim light adding a touch of atmosphere between the two.
Her cheeks were like ripe apples, suggesting she had drunk quite a bit.
She wore very little, with the nighttime temperature dropping to eighteen degrees; one wondered if she felt cold.
Watching them talk and laugh, an unnameable fire rose in his heart.
Wasn’t it just because he came out to greet her?
With a "bang," he closed the heavy door, thinking that out of sight was out of mind.
This small commotion didn’t attract their attention at all.
Vincent watched Nora, his mouth moving constantly, speaking with concern, "With the temperature difference increasing as autumn sets in, remember to bring a jacket when you go out next time to avoid catching cold at night."
"Thank you, Morgan, I’ll remember!"
Nora laughed, the glittering sparkles on her eyelids more beautiful than stars in the night sky.
