Chapter 464: Peace Pendant
Chapter 464: Peace Pendant
A bracelet lay quietly in the middle of the red velvet cloth, crafted from jade into a Peace Pendant, plump and smooth, appearing even more translucent and glossy under the lights.
After all, what girl doesn’t enjoy receiving gifts?
Nora Northwood suppressed the surprise in her eyes and placed the item back on the table, "This gift is too precious; I can’t accept it."
Jasper Sinclair casually moved his gaze away, his fingertips picking up the slender chain. Without asking if she agreed, he moved behind her, "Let me help you put it on."
"I said I don’t want it!"
"Once a gift is given, there’s no reason to take it back. Worst case, you can return the favor another day."
This man always had a way of saying the most peculiar things, leaving people unable to argue.
The thin chain looped around Nora’s neck, and the Peace Pendant rested against her skin, the cold touch making her shoulders shiver.
Her skin was fair and delicate, matching perfectly with the jade, as if it was made for her.
Jasper returned to face her, his gaze deep and lingering on her.
"Feeling a little better now?"
Nora was taken aback and blurted out, "How did you know I was in a bad mood?"
"We are a couple; of course I understand you."
Jasper repeatedly emphasized their relationship, trying to convey to her that he was against the idea of divorce.
In fact, before leaving home, Nora had read the comments online about VK, and out of ten, only one was barely acceptable.
Her feelings for VK were indescribable. Seeing those who didn’t know the truth yet pointed fingers, her heart chilled inexplicably.
It felt like her child had suffered immense humiliation, and yet, there was nothing she could do.
In the blink of an eye, Nora’s eyes reddened again.
Jasper couldn’t stand to see her upset, so he lowered his head and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.
She said aggrievedly, "They don’t know the truth at all, yet they speak ill of VK."
"Don’t be sad. The more people pay attention to this matter, the more well-known VK becomes. The hype will pass sooner or later. Let’s make some achievements during this time."
"Got it." Nora mumbled, not forgetting to sniffle.
To make her feel better, Jasper decided to personally drive and take her out for a spin, "Change your clothes; I’ll take you somewhere for a ride."
Nora instinctively wanted to refuse, but she knew well that once Jasper made a decision, it was hard to change his mind, so she simply gave up resisting.
"I don’t have any clothes here; I need to go home."
"The closet is this way." Jasper smiled and took her hand, leading her in the opposite direction.
The closet’s design replicated that of Southwood Court, inexplicably giving a sense of familiarity.
Nora saw various clothes, all in her size, and felt a twinge of despair. How is this anything like being divorced?
The more it was like this, the more she wanted to sever ties with Jasper.
Some people are just naturally rebellious!
"Go out; I’ll change my clothes."
This time, Jasper obediently complied, retreating to the doorway and turning his back to wait for her.
When Nora emerged again, she wore a sleeveless denim dress. She rarely tried this style of attire, the dress tightly hugged her hips, outlining her perfect curves, with a pair of slender, delicate legs beneath the hem.
Jasper’s gaze traveled from top to bottom, and a wave of heat surged inside him, causing his Adam’s apple to move uncontrollably a few times.
