Chapter 456: One-Night Stand
Chapter 456: One-Night Stand
Yvonne Winslow was contemplating her "one-night stand" when suddenly a message came in, startling her so much that she almost threw her phone.
She closed the search interface in a state of despair and replied to the person on the other end: "A bit of a blackout, two hours late."
The latter half of the sentence was her asking for leave from her direct supervisor.
The sound of water flowing in the bathroom abruptly stopped, and Yvonne quickly tidied up her clothes, preparing to leave.
As soon as Rhys Linden came out, he saw her about to leave.
He stepped forward aggressively, blocking her at the door, just as restless as last night, "Not going to take responsibility for me?"
Yvonne glanced at him, saying indifferently, "Good in bed, but not worth taking responsibility for."
Hearing that, Rhys squinted his eyes, seemingly trying to discern something from her expression.
Yvonne didn’t give him the chance, directly pushing the door open and leaving the ambiguous place.
She was still shaken as she walked out of the hotel.
Her nearly thirty-year-old innocence was taken away by a carefree scoundrel.
She was a bit angry, but not with Rhys, rather with herself.
...
The Sinclair Group.
That morning, Jasper Sinclair received a courier from the lawyer’s office, which was a divorce agreement.
It was both expected and unexpected for him.
He didn’t take it seriously, casually tossing it into the trash can, as he never believed Nora Northwood could separate from him.
Unless he wanted to.
Louis Hayes came in, holding a document: "Boss, currently there are a few competitors in the luxury industry..."
Jasper Sinclair listened absentmindedly to the work report, his mind entirely elsewhere.
Suddenly, he recalled the property Nora Northwood bought.
He was curious about where the little girl, now assertive, went to buy a house.
So, he opened his phone to check the location, and realizing she was actually at his villa, it got his attention.
He interrupted Louis Hayes’ speech: "Driver, prepare the car, heading back to the villa."
The interrupted person was obviously taken aback, looking up to see Jasper Sinclair still serious-faced.
Who could argue with the person who controls your livelihood?
Louis Hayes quickly closed the file, "Okay."
Five minutes later, Jasper Sinclair’s silhouette reappeared in the underground parking lot.
The morning rush hour had passed, and the pitch-black Maybach sped along, him occasionally glancing at the location, fearing he would miss her by arriving late.
Jasper Sinclair rarely showed his emotions, yet today the driver noticed his anxiety.
The car’s speed increased imperceptibly, reaching the villa gate in a third less time than usual.
This was a true standalone villa; the gate fence silently opened, with Uncle Kevin hastily moving to open the door upon learning of his arrival.
"Has madam returned?" Jasper Sinclair asked knowingly.
"In the room."
As for what she was doing in the room, that wasn’t Uncle Kevin’s business to inquire about, so his words only answered halfway.
Following behind, Louis Hayes thought, apparently he came home to find his wife!
When Jasper Sinclair went upstairs, he found Nora Northwood packing in the walk-in closet.
The LV suitcase was laid flat on the floor, clothes were neatly folded one by one, she picked up a pale pink knitted short skirt and sensed a shadow behind her.
Turning around, she found Jasper Sinclair standing behind her.
Nora Northwood’s first reaction was panic; she had intended to silently come and silently go, but who knew she’d be caught red-handed.
At this moment, their eyes met.
Nora Northwood took a deep breath, feigning calmness, and placed the folded clothes into the suitcase.
The suitcase was already more than half full, enough for her emergency needs during this period.
