Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 435: The Third Discord

Chapter 435: The Third Discord

Jasper withdrew his thoughts and looked at the already set dining table.

Grandma Sinclair said, "The weather’s nice today, let’s have dinner in the little garden and enjoy the view."

With the people from the second house not around, everyone felt much more at ease.

They abandoned the "no talking during meals or sleep" rule and chatted casually about recent events.

The meal ended on a pleasant note.

At night, Nora noticed Jasper had yet to return to the room and decided to go out and check.

The study was empty too, which made her worry.

"Sinclair, I really want to return to the castle, but I don’t want to leave here either. I like Grandma Sinclair, and I like you. You two treat me the best in this world!"

"How many people have you actually met?"

"I don’t care." Peach Bell, ever so coquettish, turned to Jasper and said, "Sinclair, your eyes shine brighter than the stars." Before she could restrain herself, she stood on her tiptoes and reached out towards Jasper’s eyes.

A vague figure entered Jasper’s peripheral vision, and he turned his head with a sudden jolt in his heart.

"It’s over." This was the only thought he had at the time.

Nora stood inside the floor-to-ceiling window, her face pale, while the balcony was plunged into a deathly silence.

However, this silence lasted only a second before it was broken.

Peach Bell flashed a row of neat teeth and greeted Nora with a smile, "Sister Northwood, come join us and watch the stars!" She had no awareness of the impact her actions could have on this couple.

Nora’s heart felt as if a punch had landed on soft cotton.

As the situation reached a stalemate, Jasper spoke up, "Peach Bell, go back to your room to rest."

"But I haven’t seen enough yet!" Peach Bell retorted.

"Go back." The man’s voice was calm yet terrifyingly stern.

The young girl didn’t understand why things turned out this way, but this time, she didn’t dare to talk back and obediently went upstairs.

The sound of footsteps gradually faded from the living room and finally ceased at the corner of the stairs.

"Nora, it’s not what it looks like."

Jasper tried to explain, but found that speaking felt futile.

"I’m not yet at the stage of being visually impaired, you didn’t deny it when she said she liked you, and you didn’t back away when she touched you!"

Each point was too cruel for Nora, as if a massive hand was tearing at her heart.

In an instant, she felt powerless to handle this marital relationship.

"Nora, let’s go back to the room and talk, I’ll tell you everything that’s happened over the past two months."

Jasper worried that their argument might disturb Grandma Sinclair and wanted to resolve it back in the room.

At the same time, he pondered whether to show Nora the letter left by Mr. Sinclair?

But that one line about becoming bound together... ultimately stopped him.

If Nora truly saw it, he feared the misunderstanding would only deepen.

Nora turned away, "I don’t want to hear it."

Where no one could see, two clear tears rolled down her cheeks.

She quickly returned to her bedroom, and Jasper closely followed, "I need some space to calm down, you should sleep in the study tonight." At the bedroom door, she left that statement, locking it afterward, regardless of what thoughts the person outside might have.

In the quiet bedroom, she let out a self-mocking laugh, her eyes reddening once more.

The room was filled with the deep wood scent that lingered on the man, making it hard for her to calm down.

A sharp pain shot through her heart, but she forced herself not to shed any more tears.

During the night, Nora got up and left the old house.

At one in the morning, Stanton City’s streets were cool and somewhat desolate.
