Chapter 428: Breakfast with White Doves

Chapter 428: Breakfast with White Doves

The place they were staying at was located between Montorgueil Street in Paris’s 1st and 2nd Arrondissements, where the streets exuded a sense of bustling luxury and beauty.

The only flaw was that many shops had yet to open.

Nora Northwood pressed down the glass window, and the cool morning breeze seemed to find an outlet, rushing in forcefully.

"Achoo—"

She shivered, even the strands of hair near her temples were blown into a mess.

"Be careful not to catch a cold," Jasper Sinclair said to her, then gave fluent instructions in French to the driver.

Nora couldn’t understand French, but the closed window told her what the man had said.

At the intersection, the driver turned left.

Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of a small villa.

The aroma of the food street wafted over, whetting their appetite.

By this time, the sky was half orange and half blue, the gaps between the buildings perfectly separating the two colors.

Louis Hayes led the way in front, entering a breakfast shop.

"See what you want to eat?" Jasper Sinclair naturally turned the menu towards Nora.

Louis and the driver went to another table, leaving the space for the two of them.

Nora browsed through the menu, her gaze stuck—she didn’t understand French.

Jasper realized the problem and quickly asked the waiter for an electronic menu, still in French, but with pictures of the dishes.

"Look at this."

Nora embarrassedly stuck out her tongue and picked a chocolate and pistachio bread and a serving of dry yogurt.

In a brief moment of internal conflict, she reached out and pointed at strawberry ice cream.

"Eating ice cream this early, your stomach won’t handle it," the person sitting across from her advised.

"Just this once," Nora said, holding up one finger to gesture a "1."

Jasper had no choice but to give in.

Before long, a blonde waiter brought the tray to the table’s center.

As the waiter left, he said something in French, which Nora couldn’t understand.

She stirred her yogurt cup and thoughtfully said, "I must learn French too!"

Jasper couldn’t differentiate if she had a sudden whim or truly intended so.

Outside the window, a flock of white pigeons was circling.

Nora chewed the bread, the crushed pistachios perfectly landing on her taste buds, the soft filling combined with the nuts’ unique texture gave her great satisfaction.

Halfway through biting, the dark chocolate filling oozed out.

She took out her phone and took a video of the rich breakfast.

Then said, "We should take a picture together too." They had lived together for over a year, yet had very few photos together.

She adjusted the camera to the front-facing mode, lowered the zoom, and both of their upper bodies fit into the frame. A few clicks later, the image was frozen in the tiny phone.

Sunlight streaming in through the window illuminated them both, evoking a serene feeling of time well spent.

Nora happily chose the best-looking one as her phone wallpaper and casually posted it on her social media.

Her updates were sparse, with just a few work-related posts.

After breakfast, Jasper needed to head to the branch office.

Knowing that Nora wouldn’t rest easily at the hotel, he selected an executive translator to handle her external communication for the coming days.

Mrs. Sinclair, who wouldn’t want to butter her up?

Everyone was eager, scrambling for the scarce spot.

Finally, Jasper personally picked a girl about Nora’s age, essentially finding her a shopping companion.
